Same story again, I don't really know whether to laugh hysterically or tear my hair off. Sarada's punches magically shatter the earth (?!) and apparently there are still mini-juubi around. 
 
As always what pisses me off the most is the complete unrealistic and inconsistent way Kishimoto makes Sakura behave around the Sauce. Hello Kishimoto!  Consistency! CONSISTENCY!!! 
 
And the fact that Sarada's mother might actually not be Karin (even after that DNA test) is the cheapest thing ever. oh lookie! another red herring! 
 
at this point I could really care less for the ships (but I still have the utmost desire to see princess hyuuga of the house byakugan, mother of stupid children, knitter of red scarves and ruiner of maga burn in fictional hell), I just want to see if the lobotomy the author has subjected himself to will ever end. So far no hope.

SS can just never be seen as mutual. Sasuke has disrespected and degraded Sakura so much, that any supposed moment between them, appears stale. The fact that Sasuke went from mocking Sakura, her feelings, and her strength, to marrying her and saying she's not a weak woman, just comes across as forced and unbelievable to anyone with common sense.

Out of likes, but I agree 100%. It's just too little, too late to try and form a strong bond between them. Ah, scratch that - to try and pretend they already have a strong bond lol.

Weird how there wasn't any for last generation but now it does. Eh, I guess it was forced upon to make another set piece. Kishi knows set piece but awful at buildup and process. It's not worth it.

Wasn't there a ceremony in the first chapter of the original manga? I recall there being parents and naruto was by himself on a swing

It's a graduation. Naruto doesn't pass the test so he's not graduate until that chunin tell him about secret jutsu.

Well it comes down to next week chapter. Either Kishi is going to destroy the gaiden or he's going to chicken out and give SS and NH a happy ending.

What a disappointing chapter. I'm starting to think we may never know what happened between SS. It just is. And this weird, formal behavior between them now is all that we'll get.

 

It's like Kushina married Fugaku Uchiha. 

 

And notice we never see Naruto looking on or being accepting of it in any way. At least at the end of the Pain arc there was Hinata looking on. But not here. Naruto just disappears into the background. It's a cheap way around having to deal with the resolution of the character's stories.  

 

I don't think any character is going to get a truly happy ending. I think Sasuke will go back into the world without a backwards glance at his family, and Sakura and a now-accepting Sarada will accompany Naruto back to the village, where Bolt and Hinata and Himalaya will be waiting.

I got to say. This mini-series is really pointless. I really didn't learn anything new. Well, so long they keep up with Karin's stuff. But if copout, we learn nothing. This Gaiden seems forced, contrived, should have been one plot focus, shouldn't have a villain, should have been short, shouldn't focus too much on Sasuke, more on new generation, and should have focus all of new generation. Instead, it's old, old, old. I'm done with them. I'm done with the universe. The ending was really no impact. Otherwise, the hate, which is getting legit if you're neutral fan, shouldn't be happening.

But oh well. There is an option.

Yep, gaiden makes me at the peak of my sarcasm and cynicism, it's like watching trashy soap opera you know you shouldn't watch because they ruin your neurons, but still do it anyway because you want to trash the characters. That's pretty much Gaiden for me.

I actually could be reading Gaiden, watching Beautiful or Dallas, or Spanish telenovelas and I would be hard pressed to find any differences

I pretty much agree with you, we'll never find out what's the deal with SS, because:

 

a) Nobody's still really sure that they ARE actually together, they are just randomly calling each other husband and wife after not seeing each other for 12 years. But yeah, whatevs, BANANA.

 

b) The Kishi doesn't have neither the fantasy, nor the ability to pull of something that would make a modicum of sense. Plus at the end of the day we all know he pretty much slapped them together because, hey, well, yeah, BANANA (and angry SS lobbying, and SP lobbying and otherwise what would poor poor princess hinata do without her Nardo? It's certainly aint like she has a clan to change and cage seal to outlaw....only scarves to knit and cakes-that-will-be-smashed to bake). 

 

The idea of Fugaku and Kushina as a couple is....alarming

 

It will surely end as you said, because that would be the most cringe-worthy, redundant, idiotic, stupid ending that could be done. Plus we're talking of Kishimoto, so surely everything will be fake-puppies and fake-unicorns crapping fake-rainbows and BANANAs everywhere.
