I never said anything against the things youve highlighted! Her original statement was that I can't talk about the things that have been said because I'm not black. My entire point is that I should be able to have a voice because I can be empathetic, as my people have suffered just as they have. My whole point is that i should be allowed to have a point of view because I can empathize. I've literally never, not one time made the statement that black people should shut up about it, nor have I said that mine trumps theirs, if you read my posts through her quotes, shes the one that said I should shut up because I'm not black, and that I don't have a valid voice because of it. Your reply fits my entire point, not the other way around.
I moved this topic here so it won't interfere with anyone else's discussion.
But I'm standing by what I said. You have no right to talk and be assured about black issues when you've never experienced a day being a black person. And I mean that. How can you expect to be "empathetic" when you barely know about black problems? And don't say that I don't know about you since you've already proven with your last posts that you don't even know the surface of the actual magnitude of black issues.
And that's the thing. Everybody wants to talk about black issues as if they are their own. As if they are "comparable" somehow. I told you to take a race class 101 before you continue mentioning about an issue you obviously don't understand. And even still, don't ever think that you will fully understand. Because you never will. You are not affected by racism.
Discrimination =/= Racism- a social construct created to justify the slavery of African and Native bodies. The very same construct that built America.
