Tokyo Ghoul

Lol, you're right about that. I saw some omakes of Akira and her father, and her facial expressions were pretty much that of a person incapable of feeling anything (lol at the fact that she forced her father to bring her to the store to buy underwear one time). But they were very close though. Too bad we never got to see that father side from Akira's father.

Yeah, the Touken fandom is pretty small right now. We've gotta wait I guess until we get to see more moments b/w them in :re. Looking foward to some Touken gifs with the upcoming season.

Tokyo Ghoul

I started becoming aware of Tokyo Ghoul in college. I heard a couple people talking about it, and from they were saying it sounded pretty interesting. Then I remember you, and Konan sama, and AHK talking about it on the forums so I decided to give it a try and that's how it all started with me and this series. I'm glad I got into this manga though otherwise Naruto would've been stuck in my mind constantly so it's a miracle that I was able to come across this.

I liked it when he became Shironeki due to again the change in his character, and just how he reacted to everything around him. Yeah he was crazy to say the least, but it was like an evolution to see him go from what he believed in to this.

We quite are actually, I mean it was always like this between us when it came to books like Hunger Games, Divergent, and Percy Jackson. Then she just randomly saw the first volume of Death Note at a library and decided to read it which at the time I was actually still trying to catch up with Bleach in the manga (So like the whole Aizen Betrayal scene).

Oh yeah quite a bit of time has passed by since we've lasted seen them so hopefully we get something involving them soon. Damn it Chapter 65 how much longer are you gonna take?? Some one should've at least released some spoiler pics by now.

Phew, finally done catching up with Noragami! Awesome Manga btw. So many twists and mysteries! I still don't really get the shounen vibe from the manga, but at the same time it doesn't feel like Seinen at all. I almost feel like there's a little bit of Shoujo (just a little bit) in there... But either gender will enjoy this manga equally. Hopefully the next chapter will come out soon b/c the cliffhanger-omg!

 

So that's how you got into TG. It takes a while but gradually more and more people will talk about it here and in other countries where it is so far relatively unknown. Maybe it'll become the next "AoT" hit, who knows. My best friend in Germany has already heard about it- hehe, she's my next target when I'm done with my brother (whom I texting now right now btw to finally pick up the manga).

Shironeki is probably the majority's favorite version of Kaneki, and I'm not surprised about that. I totally understand why people are missing this version of Kaneki right now. I mean, I was blown away with the way he changed and totally loved his badass lines (aka "half-kill"  you). But Shironeki was misguided in his beliefs; I was sometimes even... repulsed when he would say such things as "plucking out the interfering weeds." That's not cool; that's just scary as hell. What I loved seeing though was Shironeki showing his softer side when he would hang out with Hinami.

 

That's how I got into mangas. When I was eight or nine, I saw a manga volume of CCS and thought to myself:" This looks pretty. I should give it a try." At least you and your cousin have something else to talk about now when it comes to mangas. It's fun discussing TG with others and formulating theories.

 

I was trying to look for AoT spoilers, but my search was fruitless. Can't find anythings. But usually raws are released right before the official translation is uploaded, right?

 

I'm not sure if you guys have heard of Amanda Lee, she makes english adaptations of anime openings and endings.  Recently she just made her own lullaby version of The Tokyo Ghoul opening with her own lyrics that's similar to the opening's lyrics. Keep in mind the tune is different from the original one, but I think it works. This might be just me, but I actually find it very unique.

Oh, I love Amanda Lee. Her own interpretations of the songs are always great. I've heard this version. I had to get used the different tune first, but I really like it now.

We all know that Ch.71 is probably one of the most, if not the most favorite Touken moment right now. Imagine how many fans will ship Touken when they see that moment. Fanarts everywhere

I was literally bingereading the manga not only b/c it was so good but also b/c I wanted to finish it before college starts on Monday XD Can't really go anywhere with this rainy weather outside anyways. The next scene you and your cousin are gonna write is the fight b/w Hinata and Naruto, right? Are you working on a Naruto fanfic or is it something else?

My brother remains stubborn like always. I guess it's b/c he wants to take a "mental break" from animes and mangas after he has watched FMA Brotherhood which he finished a week ago- in just five days. It took my best friend a year until she got into AoT. She initially said that it was boring which is why she put it on hold. But now she seems to have picked it up again. She's on volume five right now; I'm not sure what the newest volume in Germany is, but generally we are very lucky to get mangas a hella lot earlier than other countries.

EDIT: ... But TG has already been released in Germany- before the anime came out. They are already on the third volume or so.

Tbh, I was really surprised that Kaneki actually allowed to let Hinami live with him, but I know that it was Hinami's decision to stay with her oni-chan.

I think she'll like SAO a lot. My brother watched the first season. He was kind of annoyed at how they made Asuna damsel in distress during the second part of season 1.

 

So far, my favorite SAO cover of AmaLee is the second ending of SAO season 1 ^^ I was also very addicted to her AoT ending 1 cover and the Madoka ending cover.

Kinda sorta, we've got the important plot points figured out, but there are small points that we come with as we write to bridge between say plot point A to plot point B. Yeah I'm writing a book and I've been working on it for the past year now. Well to give you a brief synopsis
Title: Zero

In California, Light a 15 year old boy finds himself in a hotel room with no memory of where he came from or who he is with the exception of the tag necklace with his name imprinted on it. Then In Texas, Crysta Jane a 14 1/2 year old girl is searching for her missing boyfriend after being separated for 2 years. Finally in New York, Sky Malhotra a 13 year old girl has been in custody by the governement because they believe she has something to do with the virus.

If you're a little confused about the characters, my book focuses on those three characters it's written in third person. So hopefully that helps.

Tell me about it, I just want to buy that volume and read it, who knows I might just take it to class whenever College starts and get people interested that way lol my master plan will come into affect to get people into Tokyo Ghoul by carrying Volume 1 around at college.

We're only on chapter 12 and saw her talking live five lines, and you already think that she transformed into some girl with a calm girl? I honestly think that Kaneki's disappearance has changed her and made her a lot calmer, but at the same time I don't think she lost her rough nature. I'm waiting for another "Sh*tty Kaneki" moment

Usually it would take us about 2 nights to write out a scene for the script. We both take responsibility equally so If I notice something Ria wrote that feels off in a scene then I'll give a suggestion. She also does the same thing whenever I write something out in the scene as well, and she'll give her suggestion to me.

As far for my book, I'm already passed the halfway point on like Chapter 52 actually and all I can see a lot has happened since I started writing it.

Now between the manga and anime for AOT, ooh that one's gonna be really tough to decide. I think they're both great, but as far as release dates go on how long it takes before we find out what happens next, I'd probably have to say the anime just because it's every week. Aside from that the manga and anime are pretty equal on my part.

That's a really good picture actually, who drew that has some serious artistic talent.

Kind of, but it's only been 12 chapters I think we need to have like maybe two or three chapters just focus on Touka in order to see if that little theory is true to say the least. Though I will say that Kaneki's disappearance has calmed her down from before. Though I do get the feeling we'll hear her say "Stupid Kaneki" soon like maybe 4 or 5 chapters from now if I'm going to take a guess at it.

 

EDIT: Just remembered something about SAO, Did you finish rewatching Season 1 and what did you think of it?

Usually it would take us about 2 nights to write out a scene for the script. We both take responsibility equally so If I notice something Ria wrote that feels off in a scene then I'll give a suggestion. She also does the same thing whenever I write something out in the scene as well, and she'll give her suggestion to me.

As far for my book, I'm already passed the halfway point on like Chapter 52 actually and all I can see a lot has happened since I started writing it.

Now between the manga and anime for AOT, ooh that one's gonna be really tough to decide. I think they're both great, but as far as release dates go on how long it takes before we find out what happens next, I'd probably have to say the anime just because it's every week. Aside from that the manga and anime are pretty equal on my part.

That's a really good picture actually, who drew that has some serious artistic talent.

Kind of, but it's only been 12 chapters I think we need to have like maybe two or three chapters just focus on Touka in order to see if that little theory is true to say the least. Though I will say that Kaneki's disappearance has calmed her down from before. Though I do get the feeling we'll hear her say "Stupid Kaneki" soon like maybe 4 or 5 chapters from now if I'm going to take a guess at it.

 

EDIT: Just remembered something about SAO, Did you finish rewatching Season 1 and what did you think of it?

The reason I'm asking is b/c many fans think the anime is better. Most likely b/c visually seeing the 3d Maneuver gear being used is an awesome experience for some people. AoT is often credited with introducing nonmanga readers into the manga and anime world. Have you seen this video? The reactions of some of the kids are priceless:

My theory is that Touka and Sasaki will be dedicated not too long in the future. They talk a little bit and maybe Touka shows her true nature towards him along the way. I don't know when and how, but I think it will be some kind of unexpected badass scene or line from Touka that completely surprises Sasaki. Right now, he thinks she's a pretty waitress. He might develop a crush on her later on.

EDIT: I did not finish season 1 yet. I stopped at episode 7 or 8 b/c quite frankly I got very bored with it at around this time- I don't like Kirito right now tbh; actually, I don't like any of the characters, lol My brother also spoilered me back then b/c we were talking about romance in animes. He told me this:" You know, there is actually an anime called SAO that has the two main characters get together early on." I didn't think I would give it a chance, so I told him to just spoiler me- yeah, when I heard the part about Asuna and the things her kidnapper did, I just shook my head. I'll give season 1 another chance though and season 2, too, b/c I heard season 2 is a lot better.

Some things I'd like to mention

1. Hide: So I think it's pretty obvious that it was hinted that Hide knew all along that Kaneki was a half-ghoul. If you look at this page, it becomes clear that he was listening to Yoshimura's and Kaneki's conversation all along while pretending to be asleep:

I think this pretty much proves how loyal Hide was to Kaneki. He kept his mouth shut all this time to protect his best friend.

2. One-Eyed Ghoul: The translator assumes that the One-Eyed Ghoul King is actually already dead out of two reasons. First, the king is always represented as a skeleton; second, Tatara has been actively looking for someone who has a Kagune on the right eye, which is why they kidnapped Kaneki. Turns out that Kaneki has a Kagune on the left eye. What I don't understand is why they just couldn't use Eto whose Kagune is on the right eye, if I remember correctly. 3. Season 2: √A seems to be a pun and actually means "Route Aogiri". Pretty smart wordplay I gotta say. Now, I know we are all disappointed that the Aogiri Arc is changed so dramatically, but let's wait and see what this season 2 will be like. Might be different, but not necessarly bad. It's obvious to me that Kaneki is joining Aogiri to search for and kill the one-eyed ghoul king.

4. Ch.72: As always, translations might differ here and there in certain points. Even if the differences are minor, mistakes on a translation can cause some huge misunderstandings. This translator translated the conversion Kaneki and Touka had during Ch.72:

I... I just don't know what to say. I knew that we would get an original story- but never in a million yrs did I expected this! Now, I'm gonna wait and see if this turns out to be bad, but not having the 103 bones scene is really disappointing guys. At least it seems like Ch.71 will be animated.

Interesting...I guess Ishida decided that they kittened the original series up so much that he just wanted to go in a different direction, to keep SP from ruining his kitten, and just save his work for another studio to do.

I think it will be animated. Touka vs Ayato will definitely happen as we've seen in the spoiler descriptions for the first episode. Even though the first episode is already deviating from the manga plot so drastically, Kaneki rescuing Touka seems likely to happen.

A lot of manga publishers seem to be taking a break, meaning your One Piece chapter probably won't come out on Wednesday :(

Ok, I think I have calmed down now after having read those shocking spoilers. I thought about those news for a while... What Ishida decided to do might really open up the possibility of getting a more faithful adaptation of the manga series in the future. Remember this video scene from Fate/ Stay Night- UBW that I've uploaded (yes, I'm talking about the one with the maid-chick vs guy with the lancer fight)? That anime was a reboot. Same goes for FMA Brotherhood and HunterxHunter 2011. I am sure that one day, another studio will pick up TG. My dream would be the studio ufotable to animate TG. I imagine that they woud draw the Kagunes in a wonderful way...

I'm interested to see where this will end b/c I highly doubt that Kaneki will find the One-Eyed Ghoul King. Wouldn't that be a massive spoiler for the manga readers? Unless, Sasaki actually finds the One-Eyed Ghoul King in :re before the episode airs.

I'm nevertheless looking forward to it to see what Ishida has planned for season 2.

Let's just say in Season 1 they skip out on things that happened in the light nvel and it's depressing to see. Season 2 is actually told much better and it's got good pacing to it as well.

Lol, I absolutely agree. I cannot repeat often enough how much I wish to see a few conversations with Touka and Akira. The stuff those two ladies would talk about while they are drinking some coffee- although Touka has to make sure to not get noticed by Akira, lol. I imagine Akira to tell Touka to treat her partner nicely, you know, in a sort of sister-like way. If Ishida doesn't- well, I guess, I'll company you to your trip to Japan XD

I guess I have to survive through season 1, lol. So far my brother hasn't picked up season 2. What could I tell him to convince him picking up season 2? Romance arguments won't help b/c he's not a shipper.

I was actually thinking that it would come to that for Touka and Akira man the conversations they'd have would be just wow. If that scene/moment actually happens in the manga I'm gonna get a good laugh, the foreshadow door has now opened in Tokyo Ghoul:re. Hopefully if we do see moments between Touka and Akira it's not too far away I'd probably say a maybe 3-5 chapters after her and Sasaki talk with one another/hangout whenver that'll happen.

Lol if it comes to that I'll let you try ranting to Ishida about it first, and if things don't work out I'll just make my introduction with this playing in my car:
