I think Kishi isn't realizing what he's doing. He can't write Sakura fitting in the team seven fight, so he gives her one moment apart from Naruto and Sasuke, and let her shout how useful or strong or team player she is. The words are supposed to cover up for the lack of actions. Too bad it ends up sounding really hollow when there aren't enough experience to justify the claim. Kishi doesn't realize that he's making the weakest dog bark the most.
I won't say you don't make a good point. Kishimoto hasn't done a good job with Sakura as far as battles and consistent relevance goes, and that hasn't suddenly changed with this chapter. If Kishi follows his usual pattern, Sakura will likely be back to watching and reacting in the next chapters after her little moment in this chapter, and it kind of sucks that I feel like I should be happy with the small bones Kishi tosses Sakura now and then, but I truly don't have enough confidence in Kishi to expect much more. I hope for more, but I won't count on it
I was really prepared that Sakura would play zero role in the rest of this fight, so I'm glad at least to see her taking initiative, and that her efforts were actually successful. Unlike the time she went after Madara and got stabbed and then rescued. Kishi will have to do a lot more than this to make up for all the times Sakura's been pushed off to the sidelines, though I'm not sure he'll actually bother or if he thinks these little moments he gives her are good enough. So while I'm happy to see Sakura do something, I won't claim it's adequate. Because really, readers shouldn't have to be happy that Sakura -- the heroine -- gets to do anything at all.
