I don't understand why I keep coming back here. I only get hurt again and again. I don't want to miss some good news (cough SP bankruptcy cough) but it's not like there were any good news ever since 699.
I've already finished my version of the ending, description of Konoha's future under Naruto's command, put the groundwork of the major missions he had to partake before he became Hokage, and even went back to rewrite some parts of the story that I thought were weak. For example, I rewrote Edo Tensei spell (such bullsh** should not exist), all the stuff with afterlife souls (I don't believe in such afterlife) except for Minato and Kushina appearances (that was chakra prints, not souls) and even changed some major stuff like the amount of time Team 7 spent together before Sasuke deserted (extended it for another year to strengthen the bonds in a realistic fashion). Oh, I also deleted Kaguys, just prolonged Madara's fight by adding some of her powers to his eyes.
Naruto and Sakura also spent much more time as the new Team 7 after Naruto's return to Konoha (Part 2), going on some badass missions and developing their skills in a non-asspulled way. Of course they all ended up being older by the end of Shinobi War (about 19). I am also planning to rewrite the war to make it a bit less emotions-oriented, more battle strategy and non-Dragonball action.
I've also made Sakura go on a big trip with Tsunade after she stepped down as Hokage. It happened several months after Sasuke left the village to seek redemption (with Team Taka). I thought that Sakura had an amazing experience during the war that made her discover her own Will of Fire. She felt that the world was capable of change and that she could be the one to participate in changing it. She saw the world in the faces of shinobi that gathered in the alliance and understood how little she knew about it. She also felt emotionally exhausted because she devoted herself to Sasuke for so long and now she didn't have to channel her feelings to him anymore, she was finally free to move on. She needed to change. So she accepted Tsunade's invitation to accompany her in her journey. They were gone from Konoha for year and a half and they visited Shikkotsu forest and different countries, where Sakura studied various traditions of medicine practice. She also studied the political problems of the world first hand to be the best advisor for Naruto.
She also bumped into Sasuke on her way and they were able to travel together for a short time. They had some actual positive interactions that made Sakura realize that she managed to move on, that her heart has healed and that they finally became friends in a true sense of the word.
She returned to Konoha a grown up woman and Naruto waited her return all this time while being the main assistant of the current Hokage and learning how to rule the village. Sasuke also returned to the village to become the head of ANBU. Somehow, despite being apart for so long and pursuing such different paths, Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke ended up being even closer than they were before. Their discoveries nurtured each other's visions of the future.
Of course Sakura went ahead to study Shizune's scientific techniques in order to finally reach the spot of the head medic of the village. She didn't take the spot officially, however, because she decided to dedicate another ten years of her life to accompany Kakashi, Naruto and Sasuke in their political missions.
In her confession to Naruto she said: "I want to see the world that you will create and I want to see you, who will be crated by this world."
I also incorporated THE LAST story into my story, but made it a genjutsu. Hinata was actually kidnapped and put into a very sophisticated genjutsu that showed her everything from THE LAST, fulfilling her wishes to be like Sakura and to get Naruto. She even saw their family life together and their kids. After she was rescued and brought out of the genjutsu, she was devastated and didn't want to believe that this world was the reality (something like Cobb's wife in Inception). She even begged Naruto to remember what they had and to return to reality with her. Naruto was surprised to discover the volume of her feelings, because he didn't remember her confession during fight with pain due to shock and stress. He addressed her feelings softly. Overall Hinata got her resolution and some medical treatment, she emerged from this experience a much more matured woman and she went ahead to pursue her other goals in life.
Naruto and Sakura had their Shinachiku the year after Naruto was made Hokage, which was when they were around 32.
Well, this all might sound ridiculous (like deleting Edo Tensei - what's up with that!), but I just don't feel any reasons to stop after Kishi disrespected his own work and abandoned all the development. Now I look at Naruto as just a pile of nice material to build my own story that I will actually enjoy.
I wanna read THAT ! It seems to be waaaaaaaaay better than Kishi's ending! You were right too to erase Kaguya's part
