Well, that pretty much confirms what I was thinking. He was forced to end it with NH/SS (whether by his editors or SP) and that's why he went out of his way to make it seem ridiculous. That's why he:
-Constantly showed Sasuke insulting Sakura, saying he couldn't care less if she died, specifically saying he had no reason to like her, saying (even to himself in his own head) that Naruto's his only friend and the only person he has a bond with ect.
-Having Kakashi say "Sakura's not trying or wanting to make you hers! She only wants to save you!".
-Going out of his way to make the last two chapters stupid and ridiculous (Garaa's hair, fat Anko, Sai an Choji's kids, Naruto's kids, Naruto of all people making his son feel lonely and neglected, then telling him to suck it up ect.)
-And even then leaving hints to show it's not what he wanted. Naruto (and most other people) not seeming very happy in life, Sakura looking even more like Kushina (Made her the same height in and gave her the same bangs in "The Last", and even gave her the hair clip in the epilogue), SS's kid lookin more like Karin ect.
It's like it was his way of saying "This isn't what I wanted, so I'll make it extra stupid and pathetic so people will realize it.".
So basically I just adds to my argument that 699/700 aren't canon and the NS was meant as end game right until the end.

again...didn't fully read the chapter but does Hima...whatever her name is...Bolt's sister, does SHE feel neglected????

 

neither would have felt this way if their parents were smart enough to marry each other.

I'm glad to know he was forced to make NH SS because its clearly written in 700 so OOC rushed not to mentioned an asspull of a ending. His editors made him take that route and it p*sses me off to no end. No mangaka should be pressured or forced to write an ending that goes against the mangaka's original ending. I can imagine the editors telling Kishi how popular NH and SS is world wide and he should make those pairings for the sake of more money and pleasing the fans. It disgust me the editors seems not to give a kitten about his original ending (which I know it will be a million times way better than the piece of crap released as chapter 700). But the editors screamed" obey the fans make the popular pairings!"

It seems very clear that he didn't like his ending. I mean that's all he has to say? Oh man that's just...sad. It sounds like he's distancing himself from Naruto. Good let this series sink into irrelevancy where it belongs.

Why would they force him to end it like that, though? NH is hardly that popular in Japan, with NS and SS ahead of it but with SS on top altogether. Then he's making a part 3 that a lot people won't want to read because of the mess that occured today. I just don't get it...

no, the manga chapter isn't out in japan, it comes out monday, the countdown is for the chapter to come out and then there's supposed to be an important new era project announcement

Now that I think about it was the CPR scene even necessary, did she really have to do that? Kishi couldn't have wrote another way for sakura to keep naruto alive? ugh whatever, so done with this series. Not going to watch the movie, that will just throw salt into our wounds. But i bet naruhina,sasusaku will enjoy it, a whole movie should have some development on how these ships ended up together.

He has already humiliated himself enough by making this sh*tty ending. He won't humiliate himself even more by admitting that the ending he drew was so crappy that he had to redraw it.

  
Couldn't have said it better myself.

At this point I don't see how I can finish Wilderness.  My heart would be unable to do it convincingly.  But I'm not going to make any definite decisions right now.
 
If anything, I will be more inclined to finish Just Wear That Dress.  The plot of that story is still more or less intact -- unless there was something conclusive about Gaara's shipping future that Nate didn't tell me.  And I personally love that story best of my Naruto fics.
 
We'll see.  Right now I'm not thrilled with the idea of honoring Kishimoto through anything I write.  I've had enough of him for a while.

I know what you mean, I'm struggling with the same problem myself in terms of writing. I hope that you do find the ability to finish it, it's truly a great story.

If it helps any, here's something tricksie wrote earlier when I expressed similar concerns:

Don't let it take wind out of your sails. There will be so many people who want and need to read an NS story that makes more sense than the manga. Especially now. Keep writing, and do it in spite of this weird, tack-on, out-of-nowhere ending.
 
To me, NS has always been canon. From the beginning. It's the final chapter that is out of step, not the rest of the manga. Draw on that and keep writing.

I still need to read your Gaara fic, now that I think about it, I haven't had much time to lately.
