I don't know if I already mentioned this, but I had gotten into One Piece  (around in 04) way before I got into Naruto so I've got more nostalgia due to the 4kids version yes you guys can judge me, but basically I finally got the chance in rereading the volumes that I bought  a long time ago, and I came across this moment from Volumes 4, chapter 34:

I've got a friend that believes Ussop is going to be loner his entire life, and I'm like bro You know Ussop and Kaya are meant to be like that's set in stone. I know it's been a longtime since we've seen her, but I think Ussop and Kaya will end up together when the series reaches the end.

Its a dead giveaway that they will end up together. She literally has loads of suitors coming to her table with Merry being Kung Fu master an all and she doesn't even blink an eye. We notice that she has a photo of Usopp's return sticked on her book.

 

Usopp became friends with her because he knew that feeling of losing your parents and being lonely. That's why he tried to cheer her up every day so that she can feel happy. Its so sweet.

 

I wonder if deep down Usopp sorta resents his father for leaving his son and mother behind (Kuro might be on point). It seems fitting for Usopp not to make the same mistakes and settle down with his family.

I don't think he holds a grudge against his father, because he followed in his footsteps and said that he didn't want to leave the island and Kaya, but just like his father, "the pirate flag is calling me" is what he said.

 

Edit: Being the wife/girlfriend of a pirate is one of the hardest things to go through in a pirate era. You have an extra job of understanding their life is to achieve their goals before they can come back to you. To all the LuNa fans in here, if Nami wants to be with Luffy, it wouldn't work out until he was Pirate King. Same goes to any princesses or empresses. Vivi, Rebecca, Hancock. They would all take him if had the chance, easily. Luffy has to achieve all his dreams, and then change his mind on wanting marriage. After that he can choose Vivi. Probably not though, I doubt Luffy marries a girl restricted to one island. So he marries Big Mom?
