It's weird .... Azami clearly said he is a big fan of Saiba , but now why did he want to crush his idol son?? is it just because he rebelled ??

I don't get the point of dragging this even further, it's not like the revelations were all that surprising, in fact I'm sure most of us guessed the reason for Hayama losing would be the same reason why he won before. I wonder if i'm over thinking it, but I find it suspicious that the reason Hayama joined the Elite was to continue his research with his mother figure, and the judges just happen to run a facility that would be perfect for Hayama to continue his projects.

IF it must be next week they BETTER just announce the winner and use the rest of the chapter to move along with the story. If it takes the entire chapter to flashback, Aesop snipe Hayama, and finally ending with the winner declared, I'd be very pissed off at this point

Oh great....we now have to endure, Sasuke 2.0 on a regular basis...yippee, just what I wanted.
 
I'd say more but this battle was already three week too long to begin with, though will say the other battles made no sense, Why would you put the Number one seat against the weakest member of the alliance? In fact with the exception of the older Aldini why put the non-polar star members against the three of the four toughest members, probably the three toughest considering Rindou likes to mess around and probably wants the conflict to go on longer so she can continue to have fun.

 

 

This was overkill to it's max, it makes no sense, The three knocked out were arguably the weakest members (with the possible exception of Hisako,) were not residents of Polar Star, and only lost because they face the toughest members in probably a field they were not experts in, (I mean the put a Meat specialist against a Baking expert, WTF?). That doesn't send out a warning to me, it sends out a message to me that they are scared so had to go for sure fire kills for the weakest members.

 

Though one that will be interesting is Erina's reaction, this could have two possible outcomes, one is that of defeat and depression or one (which is what i'm hoping for) of waking a sleeping dragon, if Erina was motivated before, her reaction to having her best friend, and only companion for years expelled could see her on a warpath and the battle becoming even more personal. Same with Takumi, his brother was put in a battle that makes no sense whatsoever, it will be interesting to see his reaction.

I'm more annoyed that what I predicted came true and they USED UP ALL PAGES JUST to declare the bloody winner At least Hayama got kicked to the curb and called out on his arrogance and BS

Wow they used first seat from elite 10 against aldini younger brother, it's like killing a ants with nuclear bomb, i think that's a bit too much, The whole match up is unbalance , but i try to think that central is always cheater so ... and it is not explain if Souma match is the only one who have FAIR judges. Also i'm surprise Megumi not in there, i think she is the weakest among the rebel forces, i think she is more weak than those 3. Obviously she is saved for something ...

 

At least Souma used his dish to knock some sense into Hayama, that is logic. At least far better than TNJ. To make people understand you have to beat them, can be anything, cooking, fighting, racing, etc. Only an idiot think just by talking and stupid debate you can make people understand.

I don't agree with Megumi's analysis, ever since the finals, the manga has positioned her just below the likes of Souma, Erina, Hayama, Alice and Ryo. She went from one assignment away from expulsion to a potential candidate for the Elite ten before the new regime came into place, even Erina complimented her on her talent, something she rarely did at the time. Her character was meant to be one with large potential that would not be realised until she overcame her own personal hurdle.

I agree with Harry about the Megumi thing

Anyway, talking wasn't bad but it was the concept of the main character overpowering the enemy while the person who apparently is stronger at the time gets the back seat and defeated, that was a problem since it made us go like that is a bit unfair. Gintama does talking but fight without overpowering because the main character is already strong and is a regular guy who understands in a more realistic way. I hope I got my point across and it was understood. I tried my best explaining

If i were azami i would use first seat against Souma, i mean that is the son of my biggest rival/idol, so i will use my biggest and strongest weapon to expel him. Instead they use Hayama ..... really?? , and use the first seat against the weakest threat ?? . well ...okay.

It's specially unsatisfying when you consider Hayama won before with the smallest margin, yet this time around he wasn't even at his best yet still only lost by a small margin. It felt like the previous chapters of showing how much Souma has grown as a chef were not as great as we were led to believe, as he could only beat the entry point of those he is trying surpass because his opponent wasn't fighting at his best. Feels more like a loss to me, than the final did.

I am surprised by Alice and Ryo's results, I thought they'd manage to get through somehow.

 

Other than that not really a big surprise about the results, though judging from the way it happens, I get the feeling that the Mangaka's realised that the current arc is not that popular and rushing to end it.

 

I mean they just expelled all but five of the characters that could be considered part of the core group, (Could even say four, as Ishiki is still a odd ball.) They can't be gone for too long, otherwise the story would not be a fun read.

 

I am disappointed that the four surviving members just happened to be the four most popular characters in the previous two polls, looks very much like they played it safe, Rindou passing her group is not surprising one bit as it was obvious she wants to have fun, and she knows knocking all of them out would mean the end of her fun, and she'd be forced to run the school, like a military regime, with her being the first person they'd kick out after Souma, she really doesn't fit into the new system at all.

 

I don't think Souma is very good at maths, (or maybe the Mangeka isn't) even if the three do get into the Elite four, they would still be out-numbered five to four, (unless they can one of the other members to support them.) or they knock out two of the members in the Elite ten, at the moment there are either three or four seats available (I don't know if Eizen was kicked out for his lost or not, as Hayama took his seat, but it was never mentioned if he was kicked out, but I don't think he tested any of the alliance members.) So if they fill those seats they are still out numbered and as it was shown with Ishiki and co, being in the Elite Ten doesn't mean you can't be kicked out if you are outvoted.

 

So they either need to convince the remaining members, or they need to outstrip the current members of their seats, and react quick before Azami can replace the empty seats with members of his regime.

 

Though you do have to wonder, if this was the plan all along why didn't Souma challenge Hayama for his seat?, It makes Souma looked even more stupid after his declaration.
