If they did, it's a piss-poor attempt to make the killing "justified" by "saving them from their suffering" or something and thus technically Naruto and co. didn't truly stain their hands with any blood.

So I came across an NH/SS shipper don't worry it was a pretty civil discussion just talking about why our pairings made the most sense. However, I managed to shut down their argument by saying "Naruto got his first kiss with Sasuke"

Though really, who can we really say is worthy of being Hokage in the end?  (takes a breath) Let's do this.

 

At this point, Naruto might be the strongest person in universe. BUT he is also someone who has never been seen as responsible enough to promote past the rank of Genin. He has never supervised the training and education of others, nor has he been in a command position. His version of diplomacy is either symoathizing with others when he sees himself in them, suggesting narcissism as well as him being incapable of thinking about other points of views without reference to his own (just look at how he is less false-empathetic to antagonists he doesn't see as alt-Narutos), and using violence in order to make people do what he wants. And despite what he expressed to the various tragedies caused by the ninja system, he still elects to champion said system. The ending is all about carrying on such a way of life, not to mention how his actions towards his son are in complete opposition to Iruka's actions towards him in chapter 1. He is also an idiot, seeming to have more difficulty with his position than any previous Hokage, emotionally manipulative, and does not spend time with his family. He also covered up the truth of the Uchiha massacre to protect the village in a way that rings true to why it's considered unacceptable for Japanese politicians to apologize over what their nation did during WWII. And on top of all that, he has allowed Orochimaru back into the village without telling anyone in order to continue his experiments while using Sasuke for Konoha's black ops despite how he said he'd change the system.

 

Naruto may be strong, but at this point it's hard not to see him as a horrible human being.

 

Better question should be whether there should have been a Hokage at all, but alas here we are with even some pro-enders saying Naruto sucks at his job. You know, I'm watching True Detective right now and the nihilism on screen is somehow less depressing than what this story has become.

I doubt it. Naruto was supposed to end the Ninja system how it was, but it's still the same. Sakura would have probably done the same.

The issue isn't that Sakura was weak (although many fanatics latch onto that). Rather, she was MISUSED.

 

It's kind of like giving a gun to someone who has never handled firearms in their life (which I fall into). Send them into a firefight, chances are good they're not going to be very efficient, and that's putting it nicely. The problem isn't the weapon, it's the user.

 

That's the case with Sakura: She DOES have great potential, but because of reasons, Kishi didn't know what to do with her and instead of actually trying to improve how she was used he just gave up on her.

If Kishimoto actually put thought into it and actually wanted to write a satisfying ending. NaruSaku would have been canon and Naruto would actually be a decent Hokage, but as he said himself in the Kobayashi interview. "I just made it up as I went along."

I agree I mean it's the same when people go on and on that Naruto and Sasuke are best friends, but they never once hang out together or talked the way good friends do I mean I will always say that Naruto and Sasuke were never friends, as Kishi hamfisted all that bs in part two, as any flashbacks Naruto has of Sasuke are all in part two.

So I recently to pick up all of Part 1 again (The volumes I originally sold at one of my local book stores) after bedresting for nearly a week of dealing with a migraine and a seriously bad cough (no joke I could barely speak). I'm feeling much much better now, but the cough is slowly going away. Anyway, during that point I decided to rewatch the original Naruto on netflix (mainly cause I had nothing better to do outside of my novel), and man I almost forgot how amazing this series really was back then.  Thankfully those volumes were only like  $1 (originally they were 3.99) thanks to a two day only 75% off on the entire order (had two of them) so it was like $13.5 on both days being up to like $27 (Thank you birthday $30 gift card lol).

 

Before anyone asks the question of:  are you planning on renowning the rest of the seres (28-72) (Part II)?   

- My answer is a  flat out NO! I made that mistake around once the time when the manga ended back in 2014, and it really felt like all my time collecting those volumes (only missing the 5 Kage Summit arc &  *Vol. 68/69 came out during that time) was a completely wasted. So I decided sell them because that's how much I despised the series after the ending.  

 

 

 

Why did I decided to own JUST the Part 1 manga again?   

 

It's pretty obvious, and I'm sure many of us can agree that Part I from beginning to end was solid.   

 

- The story of Part I was tightly paced, and many characters got a lot of moments too. 

 

- Characters also go through pretty good development & no one really regresses. 

 

- One central antagonist -> Orochimaru 

 

That and for a long time I've accepted that Part II as a whole pales in comparison (it had the potential to be better) because: 

 

-  Characters will develop, but then they will regress (Naruto & especially Sakura) 

 

- asspulls 

 

-  story contradictions 

 

- Naruto & Sasuke relationship being the primal focus (I mean look they a friendship in Part 1 I will acknowledge that, but I never recalled once in Part I naruto and Sasuke claiming to be best friends it was just friends. Part II was when they kept bringing it up like he was my best friend and I'm like you sure? cause I don't recall you mentioning that at all)

 

- Flashback no jutsu (seeing the same stuff over and over again) 

 

- Destroying fundamental values (ex.  Naruto being The Child of Prophecy & The Reincarnation of Ashura) 

 

-  The Antagonists:   Pain (I'm the real antagonist)  ->  Obito (No It is I whose the real one) -> Madara (Not I planned everything) -> Black Zetsu/Kaguya (FOOLS YOU ALL WERE MY PAWNS)    "Like what the hell? Pick one god damn villain and stick with it I swear to god Madara should've been it"  

   

- 699/700: The Ending    (I mean need I say more)

 

Believe me when I say this, my resent towards the Second half of Part II hasn't changed especially the ending & the pairings "kitten that abomination of a conclusion we got back in 2014" 

 

 

 

With how much time has passed I know deep down I still care about this series, and at one point it was amazing that's what I'll cherish from Naruto that only being Part I, and honestly it's just really sad to see how this series fell so hard from what it once was with Part II (even with the Kazekage Arc to  The Pain Invasion Arc  which I did really like). 

 

 

- In  saying that I still acknowledge there are things Part I could improve on like seeing what the other missions Team 7 had before the chunin exams, and such. 

 

There is still the Reliving The Journey of the Series which I promised myself I would complete, and luckily my local library has the rest of the series which will be cool yet depressing to revisit at the same time especially The second half of Part II (Kage Summit to War Arc).

I can totally agree with you there. like Naruto and Sasuke were friends in Part 1 that's one thing I will acknowledge about it. The problem is that there were other missions that happened before the Chunin Exams,  which meant their bond in Part I while great could've benefitted from those missions we didn't see.  Basically whatever building the two of them had as best friends were offscreen in the story. 

 

 

That and by the time you reach Part II Sasuke is different from how he was in Part 1 that's the other problem there. If we saw Sasuke showing signs throughout Part II were he still had what was in Part I then Naruto's reasoning would've made more sense. That the story of Part II revolving around Sasuke didn't really help at all.  I mean Part I didn't necessarily feel that way, and I think that's why for a very long time a lot of people love Part 1 over everything that took place in Part II. That's just my guess though.

Yeah. Basically the entire series is just a bunch of people saying "Just take what we say as fact."

It is almost as bad as JK Rowling by now. JK Rowling  is now having her fanbase attack her for "Woke baiting." Literally, she SAYS Dumbledore is gay and was in an intimate relationship with Grindlewald, but in the books and in the movies no such thing is even apparent. She says Hermione is black, but in the movies she makes her white. She says so many things and not one thing is supported in her own canon.

Kishimoto has become the same. He tells us "oh this was like this the whole time," but nothing in the canon supports it. He just kind of babbles and says "accept it."

When has this new age story started where stories become more about telling and not showing? Every media is starting to be like this even movies. They try this tactic of "this character had it so hard," and yet show nothing, but them having a good life.

Naruto, RWBY, Harry Potter, Marvel....on and on and on.

Ship baiting, Woke baiting, Gay baiting, and so much others. I get people want more "representation" I guess, but you can't just insert something without having the story back it up. This is insane, but if you criticize it..."Oh you're just a man-baby." (Even if you are a woman.)

In what way? They don't hang out, they don't have a real bond. They don't act like friends. They have one moment in the beginning where they realize "hey, we are both orphans" and then it is like "Cool, let's be best friends." That's it. Nothing more. Sure, we get moments of them caring about each other, but why? They have nothing in common except they are both orphans.

What makes them best friends? They are missing a few steps. Now all of a sudden they can read each other's movements, they can read each other's minds...and blah blah blah.

And they so happen to be reincarnations of dead brothers. My what a convenience.

Madara and Hashirama have a stronger bond with each other and more development in two chapters than Sasuke and Naruto have throughout the entire manga.

Oh it is not so much  them directlly stating contradictory statements after the fact, so much as it is them trying and failing to cover their bums with the writing inconsistencies of later content compared to earlier. Rowling did state that "she never said Hermione was white, when, as you said, she specifically green lighted Emma Watson to play the character, then was changed completely for the play. Or that that there was no indication that Dumbledore was homosexual or just singularly attracted to Grindlewald, besides the fact that he showed no romantic inclinations towards anyone but that can be brushed off as the typical aromantic/asexual or celibate personality trait of an all badass character that is more powerful and intelligent than most of not all of the cast.

 

Kishi did not plan very well long term, so when he brings up a writing decision that is "quite questionable", he just shoves his reasoning down the throats of all who ask by torpedoing in scenes and dialogue to make that statement known and accepted. prominently, Naruto and Sasuke's BL story that was never indicated or brought up so he had to make up some unbelievable BS that Naruto and Sasuke kept their distance from each other during childhood even though they both suffered tremendously and actually needed someone to talk to and expect fans to believe that that is an "actual frinedship" that justifies why Naruto would bend his back over to rescue Sasuke to the detriment of himself and his "supposed loved ones" that he "supposedly cherishes".

 

Point is both are just dodging questions and acting like contradictory facts in their writing is because they were deliberately being ambiguous about it and saying "I never said that, you just thought I did", when it was clear as day in the story. Like sure, Hermione was never really given a physical description besides her buck teeth and bushy hair but again Rowling oversaw all actors for the roles to be played in the film adaptation of her novels it is like having a character in a movie with blonde hair, pale skin and green eyes and then in the sequel they completely change to an actor with brown hair, darker/tanned skin and black eyes and no explanation is given except for real life circumstances that the actor was replaced.

I agree I know some shows and games change things up from the past I know MGS has done this a few times like with the whole two Big Boss, but still, the ending of MGS 4 always makes me cry knowing that while everyone else gets, a happy ending Solid Snake didn't. Plus he knows not to add world peace BS.

 

Both Oda and Toyriama built up the friendship of their characters like Goku and Krillin, the latter of which hated Goku now look at them, and Kishi thought he could copy that only keep Sasuke a kitten. (Because he is so damn cool) yeah give me a kittening break, Kishi can say all the Bs he wants NH and SS fans can say all the BS they want. 

 

I know that Naruto and Sasuke were not even close to being, best Friends and that the end couples are all BS, but you brought a good point up, James. 

 

"Hey, we are both orphan's" and then it is like "Cool, let's be best friends."

 

That is the only reason I think and believe that Naruto, thinks he is so close to Sasuke, is because both he and Sasuke are orphan's, so in Naruto's mind that meant he had a bound to Sasuke as only, in Naruto's head mind you, he thought only Sasuke understood him.

 

it's like a friend of mine said that none of the other Konhao11 mattered because they all had parents so again to Naruto, he was all like "kitten you, none of you know what it's like not to have parents."

 

Which once again shows Naruto was selfish and used people, my friend even said if Sakura's parents were killed Naruto would then care about her because she knows the same pain he knows.
