Shizune's line towards the end... From what I could understand from google translate (lol):
She kept a constant reservoir of chakra for three years. That requires extremely precise chakra control. The Byakugo (mark of white australia, according to google translate), which even I couldn't do!!
So yeah, she's pretty much surpassed Shizune. I already suspected this.

For some reason the google translation left me that impression. Let's hope it's not a big deal. It would be very OOC for Sasuke to suddenly be competing for Sakura's heart. Expect as a way to get under Naruto's skin.

Reading this makes me EXTREMELY happy because it shows how amazing Sakura is. This whole time, she's been improving herself. She really has gained the most since the timeskip. Such an amazing progression from what she had before to what she has now.

I was somewhat expecting an in-battle apology like "I can't let anything happen to you" from Sasuke but man, thinking about it makes me want to puke.

Not to undermine the accomplishment or anything since Sakura experiences the adversity that appears to plague most, if not all of Kishimoto's female characters, but surpassing Shizune isn't exactly the highest point of achievement. I apologize, it's just unfortunate that SSM will likely not be the enhancement which many of us were hoping for.
Oh well, if nothing else it seems that this should solidify Sakura as having reached Jonin tier in the eyes of everyone, including those who resent her character.

Well, he did suddenly just wanted to be Hokage for no reason, so it isn't completely unreasonable that he would try to win Sakura affection for no reason.........
I said unreasonable, still wouldn't make sense, but I don't write the manga.
