In the anime when Minato asked Naruto if Sakura was his girlfriend it looked like a joke

 

Because Minato know that Hinata-chan is Naruto's real girlfriend 

 

 

Seriously :-

For me, it looks like he's hesitating before ask the question about his son relationship with a girl 

 

It is not like a normal question (example: Are you okay ? )

I didn't really read that much into it. To me I didn't get that "joke" feel at all. I thought he asked a question. But I was too busy fangirling at how epic my boy Minato was in this episode to notice much anyway

Yeah, I can see why you'd say that. It's okay though, because the manga is canon, not the anime. Besides Minato and Naruto were very cute in that exchange.

Minato's question didn't look like a joke. But you could say Naruto's reaction in the anime was. Doesn't matter to me tho, Naruto was adorable there.   The way Naruto thought about it and his really happy answer could be interpreted as a joke. In the manga he seemed way more normal and serious.

 

But of course, the argument against NS still falls flat. Whether calling her his girlfriend was a joke or not, Naruto doesn't joke about who he likes and he said that when Hinata was in the area. Whether anime or manga, the result's still the same. Saying Naruto doesn't like Sakura anymore and likes Hinata is clearly proven wrong in both versions.

 

There's no point twisting it as anti.

The thing is people who despise NS sees it joke as in "Just kidding, I love Hinata" or whatever. In other words, this isn't what they were looking for. Though I think that smile really made it worse. It's funny because of that, it has good comedy but at the same time, a serious note. It reminds me when Naruto went to sleep after dealing with Sasuke at Kage Summit Arc. Falling asleep and make Sakura going "what the hell?" only to end on the good note.

 

How bizarre (not really), but when all considered, anime has Naruto loves Sakura till the day he dies, Sakura continues to wink the audience that she loves him, no longer loves Sasuke as in pointing out without being ambiguous, and Hinata just being Hinata. If you ask me, anime made it too easy.

That's what I thought too. Don't get me wrong, Naruto was adorable when he got all excited about calling Sakura his girlfriend and how he thought about it was hilarious. But it does look like a purely comedic moment if we go by the anime. I thought they'd make Naruto more serious about it like he was in the manga. It was a surprise for me.

 

But it's okay. Manga version is still considered more accurate so it doesn't affect us.  And one thing NH/SS fans are is consistent. Whether Naruto looked dead serious or comedic about it, they're still going to call it a joke.

Also there is nothing more infuriating for Naruto to play with feelings, the same he told Sakura during her confession, he was very angry with her ​​because he believed that Sakura was joking, so maybe the calm reaction of Naruto saying that Sakura is more or less his girlfriend is definitely comical for the audience, but that does not mean it's a game for him.

Conflicts with the character, playing with feelings is not an option for Naruto so for me that anti-NS "argument" is disposable.
