Somebody confirmed in the comments that Killer Bee's still alive. Apparently the new Sand ninja with the black hair and paint on his face is Gaara's son, while the cloud ninja with blonde hair is Darui and Samui's child. All these fricking kids, lmfao...

I made the mistake of browsing the intrawebs (reddit, Kotaku) and I'm shocked at the total adoration this film seems to be receiving. I just don't understand.

They think just because this film isn't as terrible as the last, that it's the greatest thing ever.

These are people who never cared for the story or characters, just if the product at the time is decent, while ignoring what was retconned to get it to that point.

I think you're both right. But I still just don't understand it. I admit I was never super, duper involved in the shipping. I started out NH and then became NS in part II. So I can't chalk my astonishment solely up to shipping. I just feel like these people are ignoring so many problematic aspects of the manga/anime that it just blows my mind.

Most of these people are just forgetting about the retcons and the problems these movies presented and focusing on the emotions the movie invoked within them due to carefully placed scenes crafted specially to call forth feelings like nostalgia

Pairing fans are sometimes the worst fans. They have a tendency to ignore everything bad about something as long as their pairing happened or had some sort of moment. And this is not just the manga/anime pairing fans. It's all of them.
