This is perhaps why NaruSaku is better understood and liked in Japan.

Anyways, what does everyone think of the latest chapter?

Spoilers for 476 --Click here to view--

With Naruto going back to Konoha, there's a chance for a NH moment. But there's also a chance for some NS development. As I've said before, it's a little too late in the plot for Hinata to be of any importance, so I doubt Kishi'll bend over backwards for NH. But there's a chance...

NH is not a possibility, since she hardly shows up let only gets any screen time. I see that it is a possibility that Hinata might give him a talking to about her wanting him to be happy ectt.

Ryrinea's right, it isn't gonna happen.

And honestly, I'm not sure if Naruto is going anywhere right now, he's out cold. Chances are, he'll wake up and go after Sakura if he has an internal monologue like I think Kishimoto is setting up.

One way I could imagine the series ending is with Naruto about to become kage,
and asking (book-smart-genius) Sakura if she will help him. It would be a nice
confirmation of NaruSaku, and show Naruto's growth (that he would turn to
someone else for help, instead of keeping it bottled up inside).

Oh I'd squee with joy if Kishimoto threw us a surprise curve and made Naruto and Sakura co Hokage, husband and wife as co Hokage.

I could even picture the scene:

Naruto is voted in as Hokage, he doesn't look as overjoyed as Sakura expects- she's overjoyed at his dream coming true.
Naruto says he needs to speak to the Jonin voters.
After a while Naruto walks out of the room, this time he's smiling big. He walks over to Sakura and says, "years ago you said that you wanted us to do something together, now I'm asking you. Will you be Hokage with me? That's my dream now"

Kinda of Topic, but I'll give you the information. If you want more then PM me.

Kind of like voting, for the next President, or Prime minister. Its a basic form of Oligarchy/Plutocracy. . Just a little reminder, that a government can be two or more of these listed in the link.

Yep, council nominates, informs the Daimyo, then all the Jonin ninja vote on who the next Hokage will be.

About the NH moment "happening" once Naruto returns to the village--yeah, I agree with everybody that I don't think that's gonna happen.

But who knows... maybe we'll get that speech bubble confirmation from ch 450. You know when Hinata was watching the NaruSaku hug and there was this "..." speech bubble?

She could still talk to Naruto, but in the direction of a NS outcome. She could tell him something like, "You love Sakura-san don't you? I think Sakura-san really loves you. Even I can see it." Or something along those lines (although not as cheesy as the way I put it obviously lmao)

Then we'd have:
1) the Naruto-Hinata talk that all the NH fans seemed to be still waiting for
2) Hinata being a pro-NaruSaku shipper (when all the NH/SS fans kept saying Naruto is a SS shipper and Sakura is a NH shipper)--that'd be such a huge twist lolol I won't lie I'll laugh at the irony.
3) NaruSaku development :3

Well... I doubt this, but again, who knows xP Kishimoto has never failed to surprise us before.

No... just... no.

If this happens, I'll grab my Naruto manga, put it in a big great pile and light it on fire while screaming things that could make a british football hooligan blush. Horrible horrible idea!

Sakura will run her hospital, and Naruto will be Hokage at one point, but it will be him alone. If not, then the manga turned out dumber than I thought it would.

Remember what else Shikaku told Shikamaru about strong women, and what Jiraiya said to Tsunade- strong women make men want to strive to be better.

It would touch as well on the Senju dream of peace through love. Also brothers Hashirama and Tobirama were co Hokage until Hashirama's death. It could fit into Kishimoto's pattern of repeating patterns with some alterations with a husband and wife co Hokage to bring about the revolutionary change for the better in the ninja world.

So Vyse, not dumb at all, quite the opposite- even more intelligent and enlightened than I thought it might be.

Yep, not between a girl and boy of or near the same age that aren't biological family. You notice in Naruto how little hugging we see. Naruto didn't even know how to do a handshake very well as he told Gaara.

That is right. Perhaps a Western reader might interpret it like a friendly action... but a young Japanese teenager (the audience Naruto is primarily being written for) would interpret it like a blatant romantic gesture.

Moreover, she was holding him tightly, pressing her body against his, her cheek touching his and her free hand stroking his face and hair as she muttered "Thank you", keeping her eyes closed. It didn't look like a friendly hug to me, even if I was going to disregard the Japanese POV (and she later confessed she was in love with him).

I can't insert spoilers tag due to unknown reasons, so I warn my next paragraph contains spoilers for chapter 476 (which I haven't read, but I have perused spoilers in this thread).

So Naruto has decided returning Konoha? Interesting. I am somewhat dissappointed because I thought he would make up his mind about Sasuke and how dealing with him. On the other hand, it looks like if he had got enough. And I can't blame him. Sakura had her breakdown moment back in chapter 452 and 458, and her let's-raise-pick-the-pieces-together-and-fight-back moment back in 459. Apparently is Naruto's turn for a breakdown before regaining his determination.

I agree with Twilight. Let's get cautious about Naruto's decision. It is possible he is going to nowhere or he changes his mind. Or maybe he wants finding Sakura first and talking her into forgetting about Sasuke and going back together. It would be an hilarious conversation: "Sakura-chan! You have convinced me! Let's stop searching Sasuke and returning to Fire Country! You don't need killing him!", "Oh, now YOU want me listening to you, forgetting about Sasuke and going back with you? And who has given my intentions away?").

I suppose NH fans will be going wild. They think Sakura has lied to Naruto and he has rejected her. And since he is wanting going home, I guess they believe it is a sign of he will talk to Hinata about her confession and figure out who his true love is.

Suuuuuuure. I already know this tune. It has afflicted my ears and affronted my common sense numerous times, and it has never played how they expected and hoped.

Regardless, I recommend caution and not jumping conclusions. Let's wait and see.

Like in the Zabuza arc when he asked her for help.

When Naruto becomes Hokage, Sakura would be the best assistant I can imagine; Intelligent, respectful, knowledgeable in politics and procedures, knowledgeable in general - Plus, wouldn't a medic-nin be quite useful to a reckless Hokage who's always getting himself into trouble?

QUOTE
NH is not a possibility, since she hardly shows up let only gets any screen time. I see that it is a possibility that Hinata might give him a talking to about her wanting him to be happy ectt.

Like I've said many times before, her importance to the plot is very little; Only as one of the Konoha 11, thus as important as Shino or maybe Tenten. If Kishi wants to include her, he'll have to bend over backwards, turn Naruto into a borderline shoujo, do a U-turn and find some way to bring her back into importance.

The only importance I see her having now - Pairing wise - Is letting Naruto know that she doesn't expect anything from him and that she understands him and Sakura's relationship.

QUOTE
And honestly, I'm not sure if Naruto is going anywhere right now, he's out cold. Chances are, he'll wake up and go after Sakura if he has an internal monologue like I think Kishimoto is setting up.

He really needs an inner monologue right now. Or maybe another tongue-lashing from Kakashi. Either way, Naruto needs to get it together.

That would be nice, but maybe a little too.... Corny. Too shoujo for a shonen manga.

Though, as I said, he's definitely need some help.

QUOTE

I'm doubting Naruto and Kyuubi will have the same relationship that Kirabi and his Bijuu have. Kyuubi resents Naruto, and I think he's supposed to be seen as an opposing force.

Well... I doubt this, but again, who knows xP Kishimoto has never failed to surprise us before.

You've got that right.

QUOTE
Remember what else Shikaku told Shikamaru about strong women, and what Jiraiya said to Tsunade- strong women make men want to strive to be better.

And no offense to Hinata, but when it comes to physical and emotional strength, she just can't hold a candle to Sakura. PLUS, Sakura takes on after Tsunade, who is quite possibly the strongest woman of her generation.

QUOTE
It would touch as well on the Senju dream of peace through love. Also brothers Hashirama and Tobirama were co Hokage until Hashirama's death. It could fit into Kishimoto's pattern of repeating patterns with some alterations with a husband and wife co Hokage to bring about the revolutionary change for the better in the ninja world.

You know how Kishi just loooves his parallels. wink.gif

QUOTE
That is right. Perhaps a Western reader might interpret it like a friendly action... but a young Japanese teenager (the audience Naruto is primarily being written for) would interpret it like a blatant romantic gesture.

Moreover, she was holding him tightly, pressing her body against his, her cheek touching his and her free hand stroking his face and hair as she muttered "Thank you", keeping her eyes closed. It didn't look like a friendly hug to me, even if I was going to disregard the Japanese POV (and she later confessed she was in love with him).

Now that you mention it, I think it's the most intimate gesture of the entire series. Even when Sakura hugged Sasuke.

I can't insert spoilers tag due to unknown reasons, so I warn my next paragraph contains spoilers for chapter 476 (which I haven't read, but I have perused spoilers in this thread).

I had trouble putting in spoiler tags to, but I just do it manually.

(Without the spaces.)

[ spoiler] [ /spoiler]

If you want to give the spoiler tag a name, like this,

Example

Do [ spoiler=Example] [ /spoiler]

Hope that clears it up happy.gif

So Naruto has decided returning Konoha?

I don't really think he decided for himself. I think they're taking him back to Konoha becuase he looks like he's dying. If it were up to him, no doubt he'd be going after Sakura.

QUOTE
Interesting. I am somewhat dissappointed because I thought he would make up his mind about Sasuke and how dealing with him. On the other hand, it looks like if he had got enough. And I can't blame him. Sakura had her breakdown moment back in chapter 452 and 458, and her let's-raise-pick-the-pieces-together-and-fight-back moment back in 459. Apparently is Naruto's turn for a breakdown before regaining his determination.

If the pattern follows, soon, Naruto will get a wake-up call, get off his butt, and go after Sakura and Sasuke.

QUOTE
I agree with Twilight. Let's get cautious about Naruto's decision. It is possible he is going to nowhere or he changes his mind. Or maybe he wants finding Sakura first and talking her into forgetting about Sasuke and going back together. It would be an hilarious conversation: "Sakura-chan! You have convinced me! Let's stop searching Sasuke and returning to Fire Country! You don't need killing him!", "Oh, now YOU want me listening to you, forgetting about Sasuke and going back with you? And who has given my intentions away?").

We have no idea what Kishi may do.

QUOTE
I suppose NH fans will be going wild. They think Sakura has lied to Naruto and he has rejected her. And since he is wanting going home, I guess they believe it is a sign of he will talk to Hinata about her confession and figure out who his true love is.

Of course. Let the fafics begin.

Suuuuuuure. I already know this tune. It has afflicted my ears and affronted my common sense numerous times, and it has never played how they expected and hoped.

Regardless, I recommend caution and not jumping conclusions. Let's wait and see.

No doubt this week will be a rough one. But... I'm sure things will work out.

It's a shonen manga after all wink.gif
