Perfection. If he had just drawn one more page like this one, it would have been perfect.

 

Edit: Ok, not perfect. It can't salvage the entire chaper, but at least this gives the reader a better form of closure.

I don't think it's supposed to be the entire ending. It's just two pages you know. But it's a taste of it. I heard the artist is working on a more complete one, not sure. Basically, what we got was perfect.

Never thought a side character who was there only for fanservice purpose and didn't really influece story that much (like, really, the story wouldn't suffer but maybe even benefit without that fodder around) would destroy this very story along with it's main characters and their respective developments. Yeah I don't get why they pimped her up so much either. Her midbelt squeezes out her bust so much it's ridiculous, and according to the databook and her previous designs, she was never one for fashion. And I'm saying this as pro-Hinata, not anti. I actually don't dislike her as much as I used to, because Kishi ruined every character. When it's one, I blame the character. When you ruin all of them, I'm forced to see the forest and judge the author.

Just remember that it was thx to the sellers' dirty tricks and the fact that it was supposed to be the "last" movie.

Those that cheat would be disqualified. Giving the answers to someone is cheating. She and her teammates would all be affected if she did that.

No, those that were caught while cheating would be disqualified. Every candidate in that exam were expected to cheat but they had to do so without getting caught- that was the whole point of the exam.  Everybody in that hall except Naruto, Sakura and two of Ibiki's men disguised as genin( who were purposefully made to sit there so that the candidates could copy the answers) were cheating. 

 

Hinata had already got all the answers. I don't understand how she would be disqualified if its Naruto that gets caught while peeking at her paper..? I don't think her team would be affected in any way.

 

Anyway, why am I being made to defend Hinata?  Its not as if I like her character. Have some perspective please- she was better in part 1 and she did care about her teammates. I don't have any problem acknowledging this.

Oh I love that, the master of redemption needs to read his own books for tips on how to redeem himself.

 

I don't want to believe the conspiracy theorists but when you look at the manga, and the contradictions in the end, you can't help but wonder if Kishi was really pushed instead of doing this freely. He had Kakashi think how Sakura's feelings for Sasuke had changed, when in the movie she said the opposite, he showed Team Seven together at the end, when the movie split them up, he had Kakashi be a badarse at the end, when he was useless in the movie, he had Sakura save both Naruto and Sasukes life when in the movie Hinata is shown as a god. He showed the kids of Naruto and Sasuke endure the similar levels of loneliness when the manga showed how their fathers craved bonds, then we have the kids, Himewari, with the exception of the whisker marks looks like a carbon copy of Hinata with similar hair to Lee when he was a kid, then putting Lee in the next panel, Have bolt look almost identical to Naruto, and hair that is earily similar to being a cross being like Naruto, Mebuki, and Kizashi, and ofcourse we have Sarada who is almost a spitting image of Karin with the Uchiha colour scheme. And Sakura looks more like Kushina than ever.

 

Is that all lazy work from Kishi who had designed the kids years ago, and then when he changed his mind about pairings just added whisker marks to the Uzumaki kids and gave Sarada Sakuras catchphrase, , is he screwing trolling the fans even to the end or is he tryign to get the message accross he was forced to make the pairings he did?

 

I know we've ragged on Kishi no end this past few weeks, but never has he contradicted himself so much in his manga, his comments and his movie. Even the way Naruto was shown he had feelings for Hinata was through a Genjutsu, yet the entire final battle was to save everyone from a genjutsu like this. 15 years of content and interviews and we'd likely find less contradictions in those entire 15 years than we can in the last two chapters and the movie.

Well if we look at what happened in the end none of it mattered. Nothing that happened in part 1 had any meaning for the ending of the story. Even big things like the promise of a lifetime were simply dropped and forgotten. Naruto went through all that trouble to bring Sasuke back and he's still outside the village. Sakura is practically back to herself from chapter 3. All that potential from part 1 and part 2 was thrown away, no payoff whatsoever.

a movie's success isn't solely based on how much money it made. sure it plays a big role, but it's not the only role. will the movie do well for the next couple of weeks? did the movie surpass the budget? is the reception from the fans good? is the merchandise selling well? there are so many factors that goes into a movie's success.

I was thinking of that as well. Since Japanese fans are pissed with the movie, I doubt the movie will continue selling in the upcoming weeks. you're absolutely right, I feel relieved right now.

Do you guys remember the RtN scene where Sasuke's rose was shown to be dying just as Sakura is thinking about Naruto ? At that moment, I thought to myself- 'Yep,SS is dead ! '

 

And in the manga, this was followed by Sakura's fake smile, Sasuke almost slicing Sakura in half, Sasuke prepared to let her drown in lava, Sasuke telling Naruto to let her die, panel after panel of Sakura looking depressed and hurt, Sasuke genjutsu stabbing her, Sasuke openly declaring that he did not like her. 

 

Any one with a shred of common-sense would automatically come to the conclusion that there was no way that a pairing as horrible as that would ever happen.  

 

I honestly believed Kishimoto was torturing the SS fans with all those Anti SS moments and the situation was like beating a dead horse with a stick. Little did I know that a 'sorry' and a forehead poke would erase every bad thing.

 

It is astonishing when it's all laid out, one after the other. SS is a lie.

 

I wonder if 'The Artist Formerly Known as Kishimoto' was forced to write the end this way (going NH over NS), and so he decided to give everyone in the manga a dissatisfying ending? Maybe this was a bit of a protest movement from an embitterer creator? Because when he was writing/illustrating the ending, he would have known that the NH love fest was coming down the pike. So he did the least to support it, and left the ending as 'open' as he possibly could. It is so remarkably different from the very clear, albeit awful, love shown in the movie.

it was a bad idea to stock the shelves with hinata everywhere when she isn't even all that popular over there in japan.

 

edit: and hinata never had this level of marketing before this movie anyway, so it truly was a bad idea to market her so much like this.
