As a NaruSaku shipper I'm having a hard time feeling responsible for anything toxic in the fandom right now.

The author used literary devices for 15 years, whether wittingly or unwittingly, to foreshadow Naruto and Sakura and then proceeded to troll his fanbase with the injection of Hinata. Then he made comments like "I intentionally mislead you" to the same fanbase.

If we want to talk about being toxic then lets put the blame where it REALLY lies.

yeah... i don't understand him. instead of using the stuff he built up in his story he chose to follow the dragon ball-like ending (said he was inspired by it, in a recent interview),  listened to the bias studio (thnx studio hinarot)..  and went for the glossed kids ending...

 

it's so obvious that they are milking it for all it's worth.

eh, there's just one yuri (best sweetest nicest cutest soulmates ever     can't convince me otherwise  ) and one sorta yaoi (but one party is not human..).. both are sweet and not weird imo    i duno about the manga though..

It's a matter of taste really. I liked CCS back in elementary school but I find these magic girls trend weird. And I hate sweety sugar relationships too much moe and I have low tolerance towards moe.

But it's all personal preferences really.

I can't really help but feel like it was all just a huge, long, con game. I see parallels like this (video below) and I watch it and I think "This was all just to mess with me. It was all just a joke. It was all just to lie to me and mess with my head."

And I end up wanting to KILL the man. Kishi cast the first stone. The NH shippers are just....being themselves.

Remember guys in RTN  Naruto there were not anybody to recommend him as jonin , and  Sakura had Tsunade or her parents to recommend her. Iruka could not recommend him i do not why, I believe the only want that could recommended was Jiraiya but you know what happen.

 

Yeah but Tsunade threw out all the recommendations because that wasn't how it worked. Naruto is a Genin simply because he hasn't had the chance to earn his promotion, his one chance was ruined by an invasion. I think Jounin promotion is done by sensies recommendations and leadership on the field. Shika never bothered eailier because because he was lazy. However I believe Sakura's actions during the pain invasion, and shika's during the war would have earned them the rank of Jounin.

That's the problem though. What and who is exactly to blame?

You could blame Kishimoto who allowed this and has been bullsh***ing in interviews
You could blame the Assistant who could have pushed Kishi to do NH as well as pushing for several other horrible possible story elements.
You could blame SP for making NH canon in the movie, forcing their views, and thus forcing Kishimoto's hand
You could even blame the fandoms because the the western fandom kept pushing for NH all the kittening time to the point of death threats.

It could be a combo of all of them.

So, if he planned an NS ending all along, then found out they wanted to extend the series with NH, then he may have agreed to it and taken the money, but left enough NS in the story and left everything vague enough that the story could have an alternative ending as a genjutsu world if it ever came to pass. (If the series was ever rebooted.)

 

So basically, it's just like Chatte's theory, which I don't think is that far off the mark. There is so much strange and wrong about the ending. And as much as it's been shown to be 'conclusive,' actually it's really not... it's just a few panels and we have to connect all the dots. There are no explanations of how the romances happened, and the few panels relating to pairing could easily be interpreted different ways, when cast in a different light.

 

I think Kishimoto's definitely come out as a sexist. And nothing will change that. But I still say this ending is fishy. Like the author wanted to go one way, and the other forces, the anime and movie teams, wanted to go another.

 

Kishimoto does such a good job at writing redemption stories, now he needs to do one for himself and rewrite the ending of NS.

I can say I have not seen ONE SINGLE NS fan give a death threat. It's all NH. They're kittening crazy. Not all, but the majority are.

Anyways, yes I blame both kishimoto & SP the most. SP for being otaku fanboys (pigs) & kishimoto for turning out as the biggest sellout.

Wanna know what I think? I think Kishimoto is an IDIOT. And there's not much to be gained by trying to understand how an idiot thinks. A rational person would'e stopped supplying NaruSaku moments/foreshadowing/themes the instant he decided on NaruHina as there's nothing to be gained by still supplying them. A rational person would've made an open ending if they wanted to leave open the door to explore different avenues of who could end up with up who (just make multiple movies told from different possibilities, no different than the rest of the non-canon movies). Kishimoto is not a rational person. Kishimoto is a FOOL and that's all there is to it.

Even the fact that the art is so inconsistent in 700 is fishy. The whole thing just seemed like a rushed mess. You would think the final chapter of your 15 year manga would be drawn with greater attention to detail.
