He's not dumb he's just a total sellout. Even in one of the chapter omakes he talks about how obsessed with money he was as a kid

honestly the best thing for sp and kishi is too disregard this movie as the last and just remake a proper last one cause to call this the last movie and it ratings so poor compared to previous movies its clear this not what the fans wanted for what they think the last naruto movie should be.

It is the pairing wars that caused this mess in the first place.
As a NaruSaku shipper I'm having a hard time feeling responsible for anything toxic in the fandom right now.
The author used literary devices for 15 years, whether wittingly or unwittingly, to foreshadow Naruto and Sakura and then proceeded to troll his fanbase with the injection of Hinata. Then he made comments like "I intentionally mislead you" to the same fanbase.
If we want to talk about being toxic then lets put the blame where it REALLY lies.

I like the story, if the romance happened too early, it would ruin it. It has some action and I love the theme and the main characters.
