NaruSaku really should be the most obvious. Yes, there's always a chance Kishi will do whatever he wants, but if you base it off plain and simple logic when it comes to the pairing being endgame, you should get NaruSaku. All these arguments about SS or NH being more likely confuse the crap out of me.
NH had a chance after 615. Had. Kishi took it away by Naruto calling Sakura is girlfriend when Hinata was in the area and there was no confict, nothing. It really doesn't matter if he was joking or not. Naruto doesn't just call someone his girlfriend unless he liked her. Why didn't he call Hinata his girlfriend? Why didn't he just say no? What's even funnier is that NH fans freak out over the smallest moments of Naruto even looking Hinata's way, but us getting a moment means next to zero and we should just forget about it. ![]()
If you ask me, NS was more fitting to happen even before I realized it. SS/NH fans make excuses of Sasuke getting everything and Sakura still holding on to him, but that's the whole point. Sasuke is a rival. From the very beginning he had advantages Naruto didn't have and Sakura's affection was one of those. But did Naruto give up? Did Naruto lose hope? No! He worked hard to get every one of the goals he set even when it seemed impossible and Sasuke, true to his purpose, caused setbacks.
Naruto wanted T7 together. Naruto wanted acknowledgement from the village. Naruto wanted to be a strong ninja. Naruto wanted to have Sakura's love. Naruto wanted to be Hokage. And, coincidentally, Sasuke, in some way or another, at some point obstructed/s all of these. So Naruto was the underdog, but he's so focused on getting everything he wants even if Sasuke gets in the way or he has to work for it. And guess what? At this point Naruto's a powerful shinobi and has a higher chance of being Hokage through the people than even Sasuke.
Sakura is really no different. Her love for Sasuke, past or present, is a conflict for NS but Naruto was always meant to win her over and have her favor him just like everything else. It follows the themes, it follows Naruto's character. Sakura's already showed signs of favoring Naruto over Sasuke ... but even if the antis still can't believe that, then they just need to go back to Naruto's pattern. As long as Naruto likes/loves Sakura and refuses to move on from her, he will get her.
I have yet to find any NH or SS fan with a good counter to that.

and this is NH and SS fans comments to 631 "Oh that question was just a joke" or "Naruto doesn't really mean it" or "Naruto doesn't love Sakura after the confession" stop just stop with the excuses.

Besides I'm sure most of the NS fans know that Sakura only loved Sasuke because of his good looks meaning she didn't know him like that back then but not its a different story.
Posted 09 August 2014 - 04:46 AM
Sakura arbitrarily picked the most popular and cute guy and said "that will be the one I'll love", she was just a child who wanted to feel what love is before the right time. But she invested a lot on that, turning it into one of the most important things for her. Kishi had said in an interview that if he was going to write about love, his heroine would be a girl who doesn't understand men. And it's ironic because he said Sakura is just a girl who doesn't understand guys before. Her immature feelings grew, but they were still immature. Sakura and Naruto were both characters who had to grow a lot more mature. Naruto had given up on his own desires for the one he loves' happiness and Sakura is slowly learning more about relationships and the importance of fellowship. She has to pick between two different types of "liking", the immature and the mature one. That's the beauty of NaruSaku, It was slowly and perfectly built, two people growing together, learning, going through trouble, supporting each other and maturing. And especially now that I was re-watching some pt 1 episodes, I realized how similar they are. Naruto wanting to trick Kakashi with the eraser over the door and Sakura saying it's childish, but her inner self was loving it. The way they never give up on their crushes, the way they always feel guilty when they couldn't help. Such things make NaruSaku so beautiful that I can't understand why there are people who bash it so much.

I'm guessing a lot of it is misunderstanding the tsundere moments. A lot of the people I see on YouTube and social media sites bring that up.
Or that Sakura is useless...ignoring that she took measures of her own accord to change that. (If it's not portrayed well, I'd fault that with Kishi as the author rather than Sakura.)

Posted 09 August 2014 - 05:00 AM
Sakura is less useless than Hinata, so that's not an argument for NH. I guess it's really misunderstandings of tsundere moments and also misunderstandings of Sakura as the entire character. A lot of people can't see how much she improved on her relationship with Naruto and her thoughts about Sasuke, they still see her as the old Sakura who puts Sasuke over anything.

And I don't get why this is the case. I guess the most logical explanation is shipping bias, but I don't like to assume things.
A lot of fanfictions (spanning all pairings, to be fair, including NS) do seem like they are written by children with no understanding of the personalities of the characters they are writing about. (As do many comments on YouTube and social media,TBH.) Maybe that's part of it.

Obviously its shipping bias. Lets face it, all fandoms are guilty of this. Not many NS fans were impressed with Hinata after 615, even though what she did was pretty important for Naruto. Many continued bashing her anyway.
NH/SS do the bashing to the extreme, that's all.

True, true.
Though aware of it, I actually didn't read that chapter until the other day when it was brought up by a NH fan in a thread that was closed. I went to look at the chapter. And...take out the shipping drama, and it's a good chapter. (I think it can be taken either romantically or not, TBH.)
Hinata's not my favorite, but I actually like her a bit. IDK, I feel like I can relate to her personality and to some extent her part one development.

Actually Sakura didn't like Sasuke because he was popular. She didn't even know he was popular until she announced who she liked to the other girls. She just liked him for the same reason Naruto liked her at first. He was good to look at. Simple as that. Then it eventually it got more shallow reasons like he was cool and talented I think.

I'm more of a fan of development, which means NS for me...and I guess that's also why I usually ship canon pairings.
But yeah, I don't think debating over pairings is worth it, so I try to stay away from it. I prefer discussions, where all sides involved discuss their views peacefully.

Posted 09 August 2014 - 08:10 AM
The guy I was arguing is confirmed to be biased
"I'm more of a fan of coherent narrative structure, which means NaruHina for me..."
He thinks he knows what coherent narrative structure is, no I should say the way he views it is what makes him biased
Sigh I agree to the people who said they want the pairing war to be over, it's truly a waste of time
NaruHina, throughout the manga, has been very coherent alright, in one thing - Naruto never shows any romantic interest in Hinata.

For real. She's a waste of space XD
So I've got a semi-tough question to ask. Would anybody lose respect for Sakura (and in extension, Kishi) if SS were to happen?
My answer
As you can see I hate SS with a passion lol sorry for the length.
I am just going to use what some of the Japanese viewer base said: To make SS canon is to make Naruto gain nothing in the end.
