Oh that's going to be an emotional scene especially if Luffy witnesses that scene. I picture two people stopping him Sabo and Nami.  

Nah. If Shanks were to snuff it, Sabo wouldn't be anywhere near Luffy at that point. He'd be off with the revolution doing something. The only people that would calm the King down would be Nami and Zoro.

That's what I love about Oda, he has a pairing in mind, but he's not letting that be as important to the plot as Kishi did with Naruto. That would just make the plot so distracting from Oda is intending to show with the story. So It's great how the romance someplot is very minimal at best.

You do have a good point there, I was originally thinking of Zorro, but then I just thought of Sabo. However after you brought up that Sabo wouldn't be around that is true.

This is going to be my guess, but I feel like the final villain of the series will be Akainu because the hints Oda is pushing towards that theory is so evident.

the marines love the world government, and there are plenty of soldiers who know just how bad it is and yet they will still work for them. lucci calls his justice "dark justice" and we can't forget akainu's "absolute justice" lol. lots of marines will gladly follow because they hate pirates and vice versa.

Well If you ask me what Kishi did wrong especially is making that love triangle a drama. and for a very petty and stupid reasons too. Sakura fell for Sasuke cause he was the popular guy and thought he was hot. That 's it. And as the the story progressed it was clear as crystal Sasuke could  not care less about her as he was so focused on revenge. STILL she could not get over him, and had to cling like her love had any deep or special meaning when it was just a silly adolescent crush. Whereas the bond she had with Naruto is so much closer to what real love was about but nope the development and progress they had needed to be question because kittens were thrown into the fan for a pointless drama and in the end the two got together with one-sided romances for shallow and disgusting reasons that had nothing to do with mutual respect or understanding of each other but the fact that the girls needed to be rewarded with the men they lusted to get in their pants.  ABSOLUTELY pathetic.

 

Oda is brilliant in that he knows that shipping only leads to chaos and discord among his fans so that's why he is leaving things ambiguous enough so fans won't fly at each other's throats and enjoy the series for what matters. Adventure!  the Pairings will be dealt with at a later date.
