A few moments passed as reality sat in, time continued, the wind blew with a colder whisper, and I couldn't help the shiver that suddenly stomped all over my back. "Oh goddesses-- CRAP, it's friggen chilly out here," I murmured letting that whole scene pass by as I turned around and faced everyone, grinning, feeling alot like myself and something more, something better suddenly. They all stood, weary and I didn't blame them and I didn't wanna worry them so another day then for that, I thought as I suddenly hopped and turned facing Vitty, ignoring the deathly cold chilly thought of what if he asked? I still couldn't-- not entirely, I didn't want to-- so I wasn't going too but still.... Lookit him, he really looked like he was some kind of caged animal, kind of holding back for someone's sake, on the edge, I really did needed to help him with that. I leaned closer to him, whispered a "I know ya wanted to-- but, that only made one of us. I'll make it up to ya, promise." I tugged his sleeve a tiny bit (sealing the letter) before leaving him there, leaving him with a p.s.-- like I usually did, knowing that he'd be content with it, and totally took off towards the ship because it was freaking freezing out there and a freaking bath would feel freaking amazing right about then cause goddess, I was tired of all the emo (but hey, I was still thankful).
I reached the end of the ladder, didn't bother on waiting anymore and just started climbing while shouting over my shoulder, getting a few things with each lifted foot. "C'mon guys what the HELL? What're you people waiting for, a friggen DIAGRAM on how to climb a ladder? A step-by-step program explaining why we needed to get the flip out of there and get inside? I'm hungry! And sleepy! I missed my nap-time and GODDESSES SERIOUSLY DON'T MAKE ME GO ALL CRAZY-FACED NINJA ON YOUR ASSES, COS I WILL, NO JOKE. SO LESGO, FREAKING--!" I mumbled the rest as I got further up the ladder, dripping pond water on the way up.
And after all of this craziness, only a saddened smile could grace my lips... for some unexplainable reason.
In the past few hours (that altogether seemed like
months), so much had taken place that it seemed all of us were living some crazy dream. Yes, I said dream. This was nowhere near a nightmare until something of extrodinary feat happened - but I couldn't considered my little 'stunt' along those lines; not only because I couldn't remember it. But because I was going to be
saved anyways. After being stuck with this dysfunctional family for so long, you could always know that there would be someone who had your back... even after everything that had happened in your life, and for some reason it seemed that Cid was always attracting people like that. Pretty weird, huh? My eyes continued to watch as that Admiral Ro disappeared into the horizon. From the bottom of my heart, I hoped that he would not say a thing to me - although I continously blamed myself for most of this... well, only the things that revolved around Officer B. Was it just a case of bad luck or coincidence that
he was the Officer chosen to make his way over to Cid's Bar? Well atleast they were out of our hair for now, and whatever may come... I'll keep on praying (that's a first, huh?) that we all make it out safe. But that familiar tone in Jyuuki's 'threat' brought me back to the world, and I couldn't help but try to surpress the actual smile daring to appear on my face. My feelings towards my so-called family could easily overpower the ones I felt for myself, those dreadful thoughts and painful conflicts that had taken placed over the years. And that is simply why I couldn't help but love them all... no matter how serious our arguments got... and sure as heck, there would be times when there was
war within Cid's Bar.
Still trying my best to avoid grinning, I called out to Jyuuki just like old times. At the moment though, I was still wary of my actions. Who knew what crazy things I could do next in a phase of Missing Time, since it seemed that it was starting up again. After all of that 'training' to try and stop all of that insanity, it was starting up again. And I was positively certain that Jyuuki had noticed it too, and I was
really hoping that this scenario wouldn't have taken place. Whatever was going on in this head of my needed to stop. And that, my friend, would be my main objective until this curious case of Missing Time came to yet another halt. As quickly as it returned and would surely leave just as fast. "Was that a threat?! Oh dear me, I think Big Bad Jyuuki is serious about THIS ONE! And here I am, Little Thief Shihna...SHAKING IN FEAR!" Smiling towards the former ninja, I wanted to make sure that she and everyone knew that I was alright.
As of now, who knew what could happen next?
Making my way up the ladder, not only did I take a whiff of the hair but I realized how cold it suddenly was. Features scruntching up from the moment, there was to be a mental note made to take a bath, and decide upon getting a haircut or not - for chrissake, I felt like a sheepdog and nothing else! And for an added bonus, I couldn't see a damn thing... well, I could see some things but not enough. With a roll of the eyes and a distasteful grumble, I commanded my legs and arms to hurry it up this stupid ladder. All I wanted at the moment was to get back into bed and if that resolution didn't work out, I would rather have my bare feet on the floor of the bar. Atleast I felt safe there and the actual feeling of floating within the sky wouldn't affect me as bad as it was now. A sudden fear of heights was beginning to overcome me, and that was pure idioticy if you ask me.
I looked at the still soaking wet Jyuuki, then to Shihna and Raven, and then to the old man that was named Cid...
"Maybe...well..."
I grinned, and called out, "Cid! Hey! I understand from what I saw at your bar that you lack any decent cooks!!! Perhaps I could help with that? We can talk about it when we get back in the air, right?"
I hopped into my transport and lifted off the ground. Yeah...I think I'd enjoy this.
Ferrumo Vitali; Field Major of the Stealth Ops. and Airship Bar Fry-cook. Definitely an interesting combination...
So we had a new employee, huh? And this time...
he was a cook. Minus the fact that it had felt longer than just a few hours... Cid, Jyuuki, myself and our random bar had received two new employees just like that. Didn't that seem sort of odd to you? Although it wasn't anything too strange, I couldn't help but wonder if Jyuuki would agree that something would have to take place due to such a predicament. Even though neither one of us were able to perform an anniciation of the sort. Now wouldn't that be something fun? Ah, just the thought of what we could possibly do continued to knock some sense within me. However, I was nothing but certain that Cid wouldn't think too highly on what me and Jyuuki could actually do. That vein of his might as well pop off of the guy's head and begin lecturing us!
...But just seeing that, would be plain ew...
The 'pond' already in my hair continued to shower the entire backside of my body with drip after drip of water, and I couldn't help but be fed up. This little 'congo-line' was going to have to hurry up, but my threats and thoughts on how to get everyone out of the way was brought to an end... when my eyes came upon the end of the ladder--- and FINALLY! We were back home! For once, I was actually happy to hear those words seeing as I always avoided even thinking of the word 'home'. It was funny how I considered an airship (filled with lunatics for that matter) better than my own household; wherever it was. After pushing back almost every memory of my mother, grandmother and anyone else who had a place in my childhood, I couldn't even remember where that supposedly pleasant house resided!
Was it even still standing? Sheesh, if I couldn't even recall something so simple, I knew there was something wrong with me.
"Jyu, despite your actions today, I'm proud of what you did." He gave her a fatherly smile, he placed his hand on her shoulder and keeping up the smile, "And because of your actions, you're on clean up duty....for a month!"
He turned towards the boy and his smile turned slightly frosty, "As long as you stay away from Jyuuki, I won't stick a spear-end up your unmentionables, ok?" He then turned and followed up the ladders.
Ahh....Life in Cid's Bar continues.....
"Ah, don't worry about the clean-up duty, Jyu," My voice was that of a calming jesture, because I knew that Jyuuki wouldn't take this 'punishment' as easily as others could imagine. However my 'hidden' smile even grew larger when I realized that Cid had done the job of threatening Vitty one last time for me! I already knew I wouldn't be as scary as I hoped for without my lovely treasure box, since the memory of letting go of said box during that jump of mines.
What the heck were you thinking, Shihna?! That you're lovely weapons were just going to fly back into your arms after Raven caught you?! Eyes narrowing at my own scolding thoughts, I jumped over the last little bit of ladder and landed on my hands.
Yet another realization that I was feeling better, but there was still something jabbing me in the back of my head. Until then, I would keep it to myself and try not to be bothered my it. Anything that happened, I was sure that someone would do something about it.
"I'll help ya out with anything if you need it~" Moving one hand, I began with my little 'walk' before noticing Raven ahead of us with yet again... someone new. What was with the sudden appearance of new comers and why did they look so mysterious?! I couldn't help but wonder if this entire airship was cursed to be victim to some of most weirdest people and oddest scenarios - especially when the authorities had something to do with it. One day, I would ask Cid about this, but now I would keep my eyes on whatever was about to unfold. Both hands still balancing the rest of my body, the acrobat within me continued on with her way.
"If it would be quite alright with you, miss Elvaan princess.." She stands, picking up the sniper rifle that had been next to her. "May I ask your name?"
Now wait a minute...
Exactly
why was there a sniper rifle in this 'Echo' person's hand? (It was common for weapons to be around here, but to pick it up...? Come on, now.) As my brain continued to calculate everything, I decided to keep my thoughts to myself just in case nothing happened. But at the same time, you couldn't help but not be wary of the whole situation that has taken place already. Cursing at my own stupidity, I continued with my walk trying to get come common sense back in my head. It would just be my luck that nothing wrong happened, and knowing me, I'd make a big deal out of it. Taking notice of the semi-destruction of the bar, only the vision of all of the disappearing money frightened me. It wasn't fair... already working hard enough (we even scare away thugs!), and we'd be losing so much for repairing damages. Glancing towards Raven and Jyuuki from time to time, I continued to keep my thoughts to myself but that stupid feeling...
It wouldn't get off my back, even as hard as I tried to brush it away. Made me wonder if Cid's Bar would EVER get a break today...!
Well then, what 'fun' are we going to have now?
