Bargain? Aren't you guys knee deep in debt? Let's get ourselves out of that hole first before we fire off another stimulus package to reform health care.
Hefty fees, yeah, like these greedy private health care places would pay for that. "Here's 900 trillion."
Health care industry: "KTHXBAI."

AP "analysis."

I find it immensely amusing that the party who openly booed George W. Bush during his State of the Union address in 2005 and spent the last summer hurling insults at town hall attendees has the gall to get outraged about this. None of that was uncivil or harmed political discourse, but this does? Sure thing, guys.
Of course, the bottom line is it's true and called for when your guy does it, it's uncivil and outrageous when the other guy does it.
It's my personal belief that political discourse has never been as civil as people think has been.

That's true...I had forgotten that they had done that...

Edit: Ah, been watching the 9/11 special. Really brings back all the frightening/sad emotions from that day, rewatching the footage. So many people became heroes that day, though. Thank God for them.. makes everything that is going on right now seem so petty.

Okay, let's set the record straight. ACORN is NOT casting FRADULENT VOTES. What they found is faulty VOTER REGISTRATION FORMS. Yes, they make up the names of people who don't exist, but if their goal was to turn the election in favor of Obama, they'd still have to FIND PEOPLE TO CAST BALLOTS IN THOSE NAMES. The government reviews each registration form, calls the place, and when they find out that a person under such a name does not exist or doesn't live at the said address, they throw it out. On top of that, those psuedo-registration forms weren't politically motivated; they were made by workers who wanted to be paid more quota. A republican lawyer determined this, and he got fired because his findings disproved that someone was trying to fix the election.
And the reason you haven't heard much info on that outside of Fox News...Is because Fox News doesn't do any actual reporting (to be fair, no cable "news" channel does anymore, if ever).
As for the 2005 thing...remember, the democrats gave him 5 years. Obama, less than one. The democrats at least gave Bush some time...not so much the Republicans.

Ms Soupy is probably referring to the new story about how the U.S. Census is dissolving their embattled relationship with ACORN after it was discovered that ACORN's census workers were 'helping' a (supposed -- it was actually an undercover operation by a news organization) Prostitution Ring account for its funds.
Of course, coming on the heels of their Florida branch's arrests over the troubles with the fraudulent voter registration forms, it's not exactly been a good week for ACORN.

My apologies; it's just that the Republicans as of late have had a hard time letting go of a bunch of myths that were disproven long ago and I thought that was what she was referring to. I certainly don't deny that ACORN is a greatly troubled and corrupt organization, it's just what it was criticized for that got me but this time this is a perfectly legit criticism.

Lol, I remember when Real TV was on they would show footage of the Korean congress b****-slapping one another.

I'm surprised they didn't mention the post Soviet Russians. I had heard that, at least in the years following the USSR's demise, fists fights in the Russian parliament weren't uncommon.

I did the math, Nazi+Commie=Something in the middle, something I like to call democracy.
I'm thinking... They should at least decide whether Obama is a commie or a nazi... He can't be both.

Um. He's neither

And please don't use such derogatory names to describe people. It's rude and uncalled for.

What I'm saying is that they are misinformed about those two things. If they are trying to compare the president to two contradictory ideals, they should at least know what those political ideas and the fact that he can't be both. Also if you assumed that I percieve Mr.Obama as a communist or a Nazi, you are wrong, I do know the health policy that he's pushing and his actions do not match with neither of the political ideologies.
And I do not understand by what you mean as "derogatory names."

Well, I don't know about Obama, but yes it was quite possible to be both a Communist and a Nazi. The Nazi's were a socialist economy run by a fascist regime; had they lasted longer than Adolf Hitler lived, it was quite possible their socialist economy could have evolved into a communist-socialist economy. It was already trending that way, thanks to the rationing and military industry.
The belief that Nazi's and Communists were polar opposites is a myth.
