"I would have bet my house that they wouldn't have beaten us three games in a row." - Bruce Boudreau

Very telling about the attitude of the Caps.

So, if you were a hockey player who had just played a playoff game (wearing you out), almost certainly depressed because of what might be the most disappointing loss of your career (eliminating you from the playoffs in round one when you were a favorite to win the cup), still dressed in your post-game interview suit, and you were driving home in the dead of night (game ended around 10pm; it was an hour later), what would you do?

Washington Capitals hockey player Brooks Laich apparently decided he'd help a stranded motorist.

You haven't experienced the full cofusion of modern gender relations until you've heard an angry group of women yelling, "We want tentacles!" at an all-night Hentai-fest.

Ah, good old Canadian boy wink.gif

Seriously though, what a great gesture. I find that whenever I hear of these stories, the sports players almost always turn out to be a hockey player.

That was class all the way by Brooks. Nothing but respect, regardless of what happened on-ice with the Caps.

The NHL needs to enforce diving/embellishment better. There's just too much diving that goes uncalled.
Pretty bored.

Well I'm a bit late, but just wanted to add: Since the 80's when the Caps made the playoffs they've been choking for a while. Seven times they've been up 2-0 in best of five or 3-1 in best of seven. And each series they've always lost. A pity cause I was looking forward to going to game now that a few of my friends are back from school, but they didn't even get to the second round. Ah well.

I'm going to root for the Shorks since my boy Joe Pavelski is stylin it up. Last night though Johan Franzen was outta control with that insansly fast hat trick. They didn't have any hats left so they threw an octopus laugh.gif

Haven't visited this in a while, exams and all.

Canucks staved off elimination last night! Although I think we lost Salo to a suspected ruptured testicle injury sick.gif

Hey guys

I'm a newbie to these kind of stuff but I would like to share my POV.

I must say that I'm really surprise with the outcome for the Canadiens. I'm happy because my hometown team beat the caps and now last years champion.

I also couldn't believe about the fate of the Flyers and even if this isn't my favorite team, I would really like for them to win against the Bruins. I think they deserve it for being able to catch up the Bruins by winning 3 games in a row.

One of the greatest comeback series I've ever seen. This could be quite better than the Red Sox coming back to beat the Yankees in ALDS in '04.

Down 3-0 in the 1st, and then come back with 4 straight goals? Miracles EVERYWHERE!

Simply unbelievable for the Flyers.

Now it's a story of two Cinderella runs going up against each other in the Conference finals. Can these playoffs get any better!?

WOW.

From a Shootout to the Stanley Cup Finals. Its going to be a good while before it really sets in. For all the people who criticized the Pronger acquisition, he is a big reason why they made this run in the playoffs. And this is one of those moments where you see the beauty of sports and the rare visualization of phrases like The playoffs are a whole new season. Its almost been like night and day. Getting Gagne and Carter back is what pushed them over cusp these last two series. And of course resilience to play on through the injuries.

Now excuse me but I have a riot to join into.

Last night was awesome, I sang "OLE" deep into the night laugh.gif This run has been incredible, it has exceeded all expectations. I'm gonna enjoy this for the rest of the week and not even worry about the cup finals. No matter what happens, it's been a hell of a season.

Someone tell the Hawks the playoffs aren't over yet.

The Hawks got outplayed in all 3 games, they're lucky to be up 2-1.

Id say theyve outplayed the Flyers the first two games and a bit of the third one. They are an incredibly tough team to beat, and they just lost the game on a line change.

Well, I guess we're seeing the games differently than, since I really think they've been totally outplayed (except for game 1) other than some few stretches of the games (which they usually capitalize on).

I think we can both agree though that their special teams need some work. They give up too many chances on the PK, and can't get the puck to the net on the PP (although they do usually have a nice cycle).
Pretty bored.
