It does make me wonder on how the writer is going to handle that aspect of Megumi. It must be something an issue in the future since we have seen her doing the overcoming the odds for a while now. Maybe it's the next moment? I always find it subtle of that scene where Soma sits next to Erina (which is funny knowing that Soma just did it) because of the reactions from Nikumi and Megumi. It felt like that scene wasn't needed, especially there's no punchline or anything after that. It's like "Careful ladies. This could happen."

It seems like the writer is more matured in terms of storytelling like it's not going to be that easy or not going to be that straightforward. I guess you can say it's not that simple. Probably one of the reasons why I am so into this.

The first girl is technically Nakiri Erina. She's the one that actually said disgusting to Soma's cooking, so he's not stopping until she is finally say it's delicious.

Soma don't really persuade anyone in love, so you can say girls are going after him without really pushing forward. I don't know if you want to call it harem, but so long Soma don't have to decide or go "what the heck?! Wait! I'm not ready for love!" He's just there doing his work while others do whatever they do. To be fair there is only two, though one can be developed (Megumi), though we'll see where the writer wants to take her to. Regardless, as it stands, the likely one is Erina and Soma.

It's a Harem in the sense multiple girls like the MC, and the MC is typical Jump hero, dumb as a pile of bricks when it comes to noticing girls who like him. but the end is going to be one girl, as the father's words to him about finding that person who you want to eat your food will make your food taste better..or something like that, and Eirna is the best candidate who has the god's tongue, in the One Shot of this her first words were complaining about her mothers breast milk being too sour.

Hmm, in a loose sense, yes. At least two girls have a crush on him: The typical childhood friend from his hometown who so far never had the courage to admit her feelings to him, and a girl whom he managed to made her fall in love with him after calling by her a cute nickname. Then there's his current best friend, a shy girl who looks up to him as her source of inspiration. I've just read somewhere though that the writer Tsukada confirmed during a Jump event that as of right now, she merely admires Souma, so her feelings are confirmed to be platonic (I'm sure she'll fall in love with him soon). And then there's the first girl, his main rival and Tsundere Queen of this manga whom he has to persuade with his cooking one day. Most likely, romance will happen, but a lot later down the road. Other than that, lot's of blushing here and there, so yeah. Can you categorize it into the Harem genre? I'd say no, but those subtle harem traits are obviously present.

But yes, it's nice to see more of Erina. Seldomly seen a main protagonist who is absent so much. The author can't continue this trend when the second and third year starts. Assuming Souma joins the Elite Ten in year 2, we can expect to see her more though XD

That's probably the plan if anything. Right now, he's just in a stage of proving her wrong since she thinks Soma is going to fall short. Now up against one of Elite Ten, well, we'll see how far can he go.

I don't think he did... It's just that b/c Soma and Hisako are getting along now that Hisako kindly persuades her to try Soma's dish.

Lol, from what I read, Alice went to Jun and made Akira "her slave" just like Ryo (pertaining only to the festival of course).

Episode 11 today was awesome.

One of my favorite moments was when Megumi broke down in front of Soma after Dojima approved of the Shokugeki. The piano version of the opening in this moment and the light effects hit me on an emotional level.

Not only were Megumi's chibi versions damn cute, but this episode reminded me of why I love Hinako so much
