Anyways, I have mixed feelings about Gai being saved. I did and did not want him to die at the same time...

I expected as much. I thought it would have been weird to have 2 casualties on team gai

Hmm, why bring him back to life if only to make him crippled? That actually sounds like an awful outcome for Gai! Goodness I hope that doesn't happen!

Lol not cripple like Stephan hawking, but more like lee situation after garra fight. This time nothing can heal him back, thus make him stop become a ninja but not stop him to become great sensei right ;)

I don't think Karin's one offensive feat is enough to beat Sakura. Let's make it Karin, Suigetsu and Jugo. I mean after all, she's going to be stronger than Tsunade. I like Kakashi vs Orochimaru though.

 

Sakura vs Karin would be terrible. Sakura has come a long way, she should not have her send off fight with someone who has no significant offensive power. I like the three of them VS Sakura but Suigetsu is the only one who could fight her properly and she'd probably snap his sword in two (if he gets it back).

 

Kakashi vs Orochimaru would be awesome. Remember when they confronted each other in the underground of the chunin exams? That was a huge tease, now that I look back. It may have been a hint it would later be revisited.

I agree with this 7854%. Sakura is supposed to surpass Tsunade. Karin is a sensor who never had any special shinobi training. I doubt if Karin can even win against Hinata. That's a pretty inaccurate statement considering she both took out that giant wood statue in one attack and survived an attack that killed Neji without any problems whatsoever.

She has both scary offense and a pain in the ass regeneration.

Seeing the latest chapters , do you  think we will still get a Naruto vs Sasuke fight ?  Besides the fact that I m not sure what would make Naruto to fight Sasuke at this point , there is also the fact that Ashura vs Indra was hinted to have been more of a Ashura + others vs Indra .

How would you feel if the final fight would be Konoha 11 and Naruto vs Sasuke . I wouldn t be too surprised if Kishi makes Sasuke that much more OP that Naruto  will not be able to defeat him on his own  . As for team not 7 . I expect the proud Uchiha Sasuke have them not interfere and while Naruto might try to get his friends to also stand aside , I do not see them accepting that easily this time ... most of them seem to be itching to fight Sasuke as well . ( and if Sakura is to fight anyone , I really want to see Sasuke at the receiving end of one of her punches     )

She didn't take out the statue, she damaged it. Plus, she got one-paneled. Karin may have shown an impressive feat, but she just doesn't have an offensive arsenal to last more than 7 pages. Even with this asspull, I still think Karin is better suited as being a support ninja for her sensory skills.

 

I can't stress enough that Sakura is being foreshadowed to surpassing Tsunade, who's stronger than the Raikage(Madara states) and able to tank Susanoo sword through the gut and regenerate instantly without having to bite her arm. Those are just one of the many feats I'm listing. Sakura is gonna be one dangerous kitten because someone who is versatile and strategic in battle were to get this power up it'd be game over.

 

All I'm saying is that if Sakura will eventually surpass Tsunade, don't you think it would be better to face someone who isn't a one-trick pony in the offensive stats?

So long he's happy to pass down to his youth to Lee, I think he will be just a-ok. He probably ends his rivalry with Kakashi, with a respect coming from him, so I think it has a good chance for a good closure. It's strange, but that's how it can happen.

We will get the fight. The funny thing is that Sasuke got the eye, so now, the prediction from the toad sage is all on Sasuke. In other words, he is that boy.

Yes she has the same chain attack as Kushina. And I agree, the chain is a very useful weapon. However, having the same weapon with a strong person does not automatically mean you have the same strength and capabilities of said person. Konohamaru holding a Kunai is nowhere near dangerous as Uchiha Itachi holding a Kunai. Yamato's Mokuton has nowhere near the same capabilities as Hashirama's. Hinata's Taijutsu attacks is nowhere near as powerful as Neji's. It's the capacity and level to which they can use it that makes the character strong. My point is that just because Karin has the same chain attack as Kushina does, it does not hold much significance in terms of power.

 

Furthermore, Karin's one offensive feat so far has not convinced me that she could take on a fight with an actual Shinobi. Yes, she made the Gedou Mazou crumble. However, if we assume that the Gedou Mazou is wood/rock statue, there have been many characters who could accomplish crumbling a wood/rock from when they were a genin. Naruto(rasengan), Sasuke(chidori), Kiba(Gatsuuga or Soutourou), probably Rock Lee and Neji, Chouji, Gaara and Temari. The reason why these guys are not doing this right now is because 1.) They are near dead (Naruto and Sasuke), 2.) They are attacking it from a distance, 3.) They don't have chakra, and 4.) They are not reckless to attack it head-on especially with 2.). Therefore, I don't see how Karin can be considered to be able to beat Hinata(a Chuunin-level shinobi) "easily" when the only battle feats she has shown so far was accomplishable by nearly more than half the genins we have seen in part 1.

 

If it was short-range, I can't see how Karin can beat a Hyuuga taijutsu fighter who has trained to fight Hyuuga style taijutsu all her life. Using chains in such a short distance is very ineffective.

 

It's the same for Mid/Long range. Hinata was able to dodge mokuton attacks from Obito, one of the strongest Ninja in the Naruto-verse. It's hard for me to believe that she can't dodge chains from Karin. Moreover, if HInata gets hold of the chains, she can flow her chakra into it, and close Karin's tenketsu prohibiting her from using chains anymore (like Neji vs. Kidomaru).

Gai's foot started to disintegrate before Naruto stopped him from dying, so there's that.

 

The moment Gai went 8 gates he already accepted that he was passing the torch to Lee, so even if he can't fight again I think he'll be satisfied in seeing Lee carry on his ninja way. Gai could even mentor Lee from time to time.

We could come up with hypothetical about what Karin could or could not do in a fight all day, but I think what's important is that she did something impressive that even got Suigetsu to start praising her, and considering how Suigetsu doesn't usually have a high opinion of Karin that's saying something.

 

Whether we like it or not Karin got herself an impressive upgrade that could make her a reasonable threat in a fight against normal level ninjas. That's worth acknowledging if nothing else.
