Bolded: I disagree. The American economy is usually boosted by customer consumption and less taxes. When government keeps their hands out of the private sector and stops throwing money at the economy to try to give it a jumpstart (This causes inflation and a heavy loss to the value of the American dollar) will the economy steady itself out again. The Surplus package was proof of this sense most of the money was used for government employees like teachers instead of the "shovel-ready" jobs that the bill was "intended for" (Basically used to pay off unions and companies like Solyndra who supported his vote). Many probably do this "government back-scratching," but the money sent to Solyndra was tax-payer dollars for a technology that is not quite possible to create at an efficient cost or create a proficient amount of electricity ( I do agree about finding alternate fuels, but we don't have the technology for these types of inovations yet).
That's what I mean. When us the consumer spends, the economy will go up. It's when the government refuses to cycle that money back into our pockets and invests it more in "stupid affairs" is when we get more problems. Everyone wants to say that big business is the enemy, but reality as corrupt as they can get, they are the reason why jobs exist and why we can move forward technology wise. And yes, printing more money doesn't help either for obvious reasons.
Funny thing about the alternative fuels, the politicians don't really care about the environment nor do they really care about "alternative" fuels. Look at Nikolai Tesla. He wanted to devise a way to make infinite energy for free for everyone using his AC energy to help. Problem is, there is no money in "free energy." We have the technology to make hydrogen cars where you can make the fuel in your backyard if you wanted to. Problem is, the government would lose a lot of money in drilling for oil and marketing. (I remember when gas was under a dollar.) The technology is there, but it is all about money. Same with cures for diseases and such. We have been trying to fight cancer for how many years and given how much to it? You mean to tell me we have found nothing, but just easier ways to distribute medication? You how much money the government lost on curing polio? Billions. The red cross alone pockets at least 85% of the donations they are given. They made a fortune on 9/11. This may sound like conspiracy theory, but it is not.
So whenever anyone asks me why there is no cure for diseases or why we don't have fuel efficient cars: It's all about money.
You know they said they want to do these nano technology that is supposed to help humanity live longer, but it will never pass. There is no money in it for the corrupt to make in cure. Look at Obamacare, my friend who is a doctor, is being screwed up the ass royally. It's even worse when Obama taxes you for not having obamacare.
