Well that's actually a pretty common trope with dark side users in SW. They know that their master is manipulating them but they're powerless to stop them and the only way to gain power is through their master. You see that a lot with the Sith. The whole purpose is to gain power through anger and hate, and by making the apprentice hate them the master teaches them. It's common, and during the era of the Rule Of Two it was essential because the apprentice has to kill their master and take an apprentice of their own in order to keep the Sith alive in the shadows. In fact the Rule Of Two has been broken several times because a Sith was unsure of their acolyte's ability to kill them, or as an added measure by a Sith to kill their master.
Of course the Knights Of Ren isn't a Sith organization (as far as we know), but the key to the dark side is always anger, hatred, and pain

Or, like in The Force Unleashed games or as Darth Maul did with Savage in The Clone Wars, sometimes the apprentice will secretly try to take on their own apprentice behind their master's back in order to try to eventually overthrow them.

Exactly. In fact that's why Sidious took Maul on in the first place. So he could kill Plagueis...of course he found out and when that happened Sidious started to train him as more of an assassin so he could put into action his and his master's plan. So Maul is both a Sith and a Sith Assassin at the same time

I am. Honestly just by the trailer it, to me it looks better than episode 7.
Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

I have a feeling that bit where you see him walking up to the guy is going to be at the end, after the guy is defeated, and he kills the guy.

he's ruthless as ever which is why he's a great villain though i wonder if ahsoka will get referenced after all that was the highlight of season 2
