If the Bench Scene was important to Sakura as far as her feelings went, then why wasn't it emphasized or brought up again? Emphasis is very important. When Sasuke left the village, the only thing she mentioned that happened at the Bench was of Sasuke yelling at her and calling her annoying. And then, again when to comes to flashbacks, the only thing that particularly stuck out for Sakura when she tried to kill him was his "thank you."
I think the Bench Scene is for important for NS resolution. I just don't know if had much to do with Sakura's feelings for him. It's possible, but I don't see it. That's just my opinion.
You know as well as I do that if the Bench Scene was emphasized the Romance Subplot would have been done and over , just bc that part of that scene hasn't been emphasized/brought up doesn't mean its not going to I think there is a reason why it wasn't so far , again look at everything that happened at scene not just the forehead scene but the whole scene and Sakura's conclusion of it . There isn't even a legit reason for Sakura to even love Sasuke she hasn't given any of that besides that he's "cool" why is that ? Don't you find odd that she didn't remember Sasuke trying to kiss her ? What would have mean if she did remember it ? There is a reason why Kishimoto hasn't revealed why she loved him in the first place besides him being the "cool" guy also why do you ignore the fact that not only Sakura gain a false impression of Sasuke but even Naruto confirm this so why is this so much ignored by everyone in here ?
I don't know why is it so hard for some of you to believe that Sakura loved a false image of Sasuke and not who he really is and this scene helped in that department its there in black and white you can't ignore it or just dismiss it like that just bc you don't like it .
But I agree on one thing with you that Sakura's call back of the bench scene was emphasized to give SS a closure bc that's the real SS moment between them of the bench scene not the one when Naruto is disguised as Sasuke that's for Sakura's feelings .
Its not important at all. I can't really understand why so many from our fandom wish for a revisit to that scene. Last it was mentioned was 684 chapters before. It was just used to introduce fans to the love triangle and to let readers know that its not Sasuke but Naruto that is meant to be with Sakura. Does the thought of having a big forehead even bother Sakura now? She is not a small girl anymore, she has bigger insecurities now, most recent one- not being able to do big things for Naruto.
Well let me tell you something a girl no matter how big or small her insecurity is would always like to be complimented on it even if she doesn't think about that insecurity that much it would always make her feel special take Kushina for example when Naruto complimented her hair what did she do ? And yet she's not a small girl either but a grown woman but she still appreciated it and tell her son she loved him .
I don't think the bench scene should be the deciding factor for NS, and it's not just because there's next to no emphases put on it, but there are just better ways of going about establishing NS as a couple. Can you just imagine NS becoming canon all because of a compliment?
"Omg it was you all along, Naruto? Even though this is the first time in like 600+ chapters I'm thinking about this scene, let's make babies now anyway." lol yeah... no.
I or anyone else don't say by bringing the Bench scene in play again that it will be a deciding factor for NS to go canon that's not the case the deciding factor is the whole development of NS through the story Sakura through being with Naruto started to see him for who he is and fall in love with him , but that scene should gave as a resolution to some things like Sasuke isn't the guy she thought he was he wasn't her prince charming or her soulmate or would you rather she stays with that opinion forever ?

All in all I say the Bench Scene is pretty much relevant for the Romance Subplot and Sakura's existing feelings for Sasuke as it began there by gaining that false image of him and the fact that latter she mixed those feelings with the feelings of camaraderie/teammate care for him (aka the Chunin exams ) didn't help either . Its all one major clusterkitten if you ask me
