In fact from what I hear so far Japan may be the only place where NS is more popular and even then I'm not entirely sure.

Really? I just used the japanese google search engine and these were the results I got

 

 

NS ナルトxサクラ (19,300,000 results)

 

NH ナルトxヒナタ (294,000 results)

 

SS サスケxサクラ (3,250,000 results)

Really? I just used the japanese google search engine and these were the results I got

 

 

NS ナルトxサクラ (19,300,000 results)

 

NH ナルトxヒナタ (294,000 results)

 

SS サスケxサクラ (3,250,000 results)

 

It doesn't mean anything. You just have to go on forums and look at polls to see which one is most popular. Though th gap is way smaller than in western fandom. And I have to say that in forums, I see more or less the same NS fans as SS fans, but NH is way behind.

How does it not really mean anything? I'm betting there are far more people who search it on google then there are those who vote on a few threads.

But every results are not directed at ナルトｘサクラ. When you search NaruSaku, you also find NaruHina results and SasuSaku ones, aren't you? Even though it's not what you're searching. Well it's the same here. Every results are not about what you're searching. 

And I'm not just talking about poll, I'm talking abut the several japanese discussions on the matter. 

And when I talk about popularity of a pairing here, I'm not talking about the chance it has to happen. As I already stated, japanese fandom know, for the most part, that NS is end game. It's just that it doesn't stop them to enjoy other pairing as KakaIru, NaruSasu AND SasuSaku mor than the end pairing.

That works both ways though doesn't it?

 

At any rate popularity doesn't matter from what I hear ZukoxKatara was more popular than AangxKatara to some degree for whatever reason.

That's my point. That's why I say that saying search results are representing a pairing or whataver's popularity is wrong imo. But anyway, let's just move on, as 4Life implied, this topic has been talked over and over again.

But thats just it though with polls its more with if people had to choose alot of people multi-ship.

I have a strong feeling that it actually will happen because remember in during the kazekage arc in Chapter 261. In this chapter Sakura asks Chiyo what happens  to jinchuriki if they look their bijuu.

Surely she already knows it on some level. That's the sort of thing Naruto would say and its OOC for Sasuke. But I hope she brings it up when NS becomes canon. Sakura- "So Naruto, Is my charming forehead the only thing you like about me or is there anything else?". Naruto's facial expression would be priceless

I believe more that he will return the hug or he will hug. The forehead and CPR scene are good, but they can lead to comedy no resolving anything sometimes or probably we will have a similar scene like 631.

That's if you type in their names with the "and" in between putting the x in between limits it to pairings.

I'm sure she does, but only subconsciously. I feel like what that scene did was enable a psychological projection. Sakura wanted Sasuke to be like that, and so she took what Naruto said thinking it was Sasuke, and projected her version of what she wanted Sasuke to be over the real Sasuke and "fell in love with him" because of what Naruto said. She still hasn't realized that everything she wanted Sasuke to be, Naruto is. That's why I think that there is a chance that it gets brought up later on. Sort of as a way to say that she never truly loved Sasuke, because what she wanted was for Sasuke to be Naruto, and the only reason she liked Sasuke in the first place was because it was a cool thing to do.
