This is the hilarious thing about Kishimoto he plans the pairings early on right but he CAN'T write about them according to him.

 

Someone else writes about the NH romance. SS is entirely off screen.

 

He says he is embarrassed to write romance but he milks NaruSaku as a relationship red herring up the climax of the story.

 

So he doesn't like writing romance but creates a romantic misdirection between people he decided early on wouldn't work.

• While you were writing the manga, were the characters’ romances also decided in advance?

They weren't particularly at the top of my mind... I thought I'd let the story take its natural course. I wrote the story while thinking 'Will Sasuke and Sakura end up together, and how will it happen?'. That's because I didn't put Sakura in the position called 'heroine'. Being the protagonist, Naruto was of course a special case - but the others were pretty equal, and I didn't think of them as either main or minor. I decided (on the romances) based on how the characters would act as the story went. Though on the way, I also thought that Naruto and Sakura wouldn't really be right (romantically). One way or another, I decided (on the romances) at a fairly early stage.

• So you left it to the characters themselves, is that right?

For me, how should I put it... I try not to be too aware of how (the characters) started their relationships. I get embarassed writing these things, and to be perfectly honest there are also some parts that I don't want to write about. (laugh) In 'The Last', Naruto's love story was written by someone else - and I'm glad that in the movie you can watch things that I couldn't write myself.

So basically he indirectly confirmed  his first editor (Yahagi) wrote most or the entire original manga while his other editors done the last five years. 
 

It's just another full-of-crap interview from Kishimoto. It's so blatantly obvious that he's promoting a pairing and scenario that's absolutely improbable to anyone who's actually read the manga. He's pitching to a whole new audience, and trying to convince anyone and everyone that he meant to end it this way. 
 
Sakura was always the heroine and he said so himself some time ago. He just gave up on her for money/SP. (And he can't say Hinata is the heroine because it's painfully obvious she's not.)
 
Again, these interviews are simply to retcon what's happening now. Not a reflection of the story or where it was meant to go. Kishimoto will say anything to sell tickets.

Because they are too deep in it. You have to view it from a business point of view. I'll ask you this question.

You've invested an amount of money in something a movie let's say. Let's say you spend 10 million dollars on it for it (just an example).

 

The movie was already in production. Maybe already finished or close to being finished, and you found out that it's not really going to sell that well.

Now I ask you what do you do? Considering that you've already spend that amount of money.

Would you release the movie to make some of the money back because people will pay for it (not as much as you wanted but people will pay for it nonetheless) or would you cancel the movie and admit to the world the truth?

 

And I know the good guy in you may say "Yes I wouldn't release the movie and admit the truth." But remember there are other people behind you. Other people that don't care about the truth, or what is right or wrong, or your pride, or your story, or whatever you want, or think or even feel. People that only want to get paid. People that only care about money. And trust me people that only care about money do exist, I've dealt with two of them quite recently.

 

So what would you do?

 

 

The way I see it from them, it's better to continue the lie and hope for the best. They've started on this path and will continue on it to see what will happen. I also thought about something else about what they're doing but it's crazy. I know I've said I'll post it sometime soon but problems occurred. If I can I'll make it tomorrow but no promises.

From a business stand point, and if it is all about money, then what difference does it make? I have to wonder if they themselves are living a lie with high expectations on how good this movie "might" do. I find it funny how the fans curse Kishimoto out, say the movies are bad, but then these people turned a blind eye or blame the fans themselves for the bombing.

None of this makes sense from any stand point, because if it was, wouldn't you just cater to the fans to make more money than to keep going down the route that would get you more hated. It's funny how this notion works where if we're "only doing it for money" and if say you make more money redoing it than to just keep going with this plan, then why not redo it? Why continue something knowing it didn't make money?

They are too much thinking in the short run than the long run and they just hope the long run works out. I mean, let's be honest changing or retconing the story now couldn't make the story any worse than it is. If you're already in a hole why continue to dig? I know some would argue that retconning now would just be a waste of time, but then them keep doing this is just as much a waste of time as anything. In fact, it is more insulting this way than it is to retcon it at this point.

I am going to lay it down flat on this...yeah when the last was coming out it was all a business plan, but now that Naruto has basically been in the red because of everything that is going on....they don't care anymore. Kishimoto especially is a guy who just doesn't care anymore and you can see it everytime he does an interview now. He is just saying whatever to answer the question and then move on with it.

I am just wondering why.....why did they let this all go to hell in a hand basket all because of a stupid fandom and a notion to make money when it failed horribly?

I am not sure who is really living the delusion here. To these businesses actually believe this is making them tons of money? Do they actually think that the fans who complaining are such a minority it falls under "acceptable losses?" The fact that they think more of a business stand point than a moral one or even logical one is the whole reason why this series failed in the first place. Look at Oda and other mangaka who don't see it from a business stand point and they are making more money than Naruto ever did...and they are still going with it.

From a business stand point, and considering the market as it is, you don't just do things for the aspect of making money off of it. You do it because you see how people enjoy it. What is with these Japanese business men who believe that doing things AGAINST real fan discussions and wants is what makes more money? Why are they so much hard at work selling a lie when giving the truth is so much more profitable?

You know why Micheal Bay makes money and some of these directors don't? Because Micheal Bay doesn't talk out his ass thinking he is some great director who makes master pieces. He knows that his movies are popcorn flicks so people can have fun even if the story falls short sometimes and that is the point. Same with the directors of the marvel movies and why they make so much. Yeah some of the plots have holes, but they are fun movies to watch and they still hold the essence of what the fans loves the most. It's not fake.

It just pisses me off to know end because we know they are lying and they are fake, but they continue to try and convince us it was all okay.

This is why I really...jsut rally want to burn these studios to the ground. I mean literally. Not kill anyone, but just burn the empire to the ground and fiddle as it burns because honestly, they people need a harsh lesson in reality.

It's strange since both of them do read good manga like One PIece, so they'd have to know Naruto is just sad and pathetic now. Maybe they just give it a pass so they can get more views.

And if you really really want to put things this way, well then, your 'true' heroine is much less developed, relevant and shown than your non-heroine. That's all on you man.

That shipper must not have a really clear idea of the concept 'quality over quantity', because if you call that quality..........then we can en masse happily suggest you read '50 Shades of Grey' and 'Twilight', that's more or less the level of quality we're talking about. I think i already wrote about what their business plan was a week ago...what the hell I'll explain it again.

 

First off I think the last was probably always a nH movie, but it was originally non canon. SP probably asked kishi if they could make the last movie about Naruto getting together with hinata even if he got together with Sakura in the manga. Kishi probably agreed but eventually the executives found out that for some reason the last Naruto movie may not have the same romantic pairing ending as the manga was heading and asked people why they were doing that. The editors and the Naruto team at SP probably said that the nH was this massive international fan base that kishi was refusing to tap into (or something like that). Since Naruto has been both SP main bread winner, and one of SJ biggest slice of their international market for years they figured that they should be tapping into this large market instead of worrying about if the story actually made sense. They also probably planned everything that has happened in the last years. Kishi ending Naruto after 15 years on the 700th chapter 1 month before the last release, then interviews to promote the last till it came out, then the last along with the announcement of a spin off movie, then several light novels released once a month till the second movie was release to keep people interested and aware of Naruto, a gaiden manga to test the water for a spin off manga, and finally the spin off movie. Some of this probably was already planned before kishi caved into pressure some of it after.

 

 The problem is that the reaction was almost instantly negative which was the opposite of they were expecting. What they were thought that this was the ending that fans wanted and were simply expecting to just put out the stuff and the fans would buy it happily. So because they weren't expecting such a negative reacting their damage control was horrible. First one of kishi assistant mocking confused upset fans on twitter. Then kishi constantly having to change what he says interview after interview with no real clue what he should be saying. Refusing refund tickets for the last and so on is because they weren't expecting fans not to love the ending and they put too much money into to back out at any point at least until they had released everything in hopes of making some of the money back.

No one comment on it in the manga, it has been going for 15 years, and most importantly, it's supposed to be his character in goals. He really can't write.

Surely a man who was too embarrassed to write romance would not have planned this kind of ending from the very beginning. You would think he would be as sick of this nonsense as we are going by that logic.

 

Imagine if someone like Oda started talking like this after OP ended. It would be a nightmare.
