Those last few pages though   Erina looks gorgeous love the art. I wonder what they'll talk about, maybe how to counterattack Central and about their father as it was expected!?

 

Anyways next chapter is promising for Sourina ship, Erina is finally starting to take a stand and break of from her shell its a much needed development and for her to finally take her place as the Heroine. Also I just love Hisako's more and more she's getting a really nice development this past few chapters she's def one of my top favorites XD. On the other hand I agree with everyone I just can't but facepalm at Azami I can't take him seriously really  . I laughed hard at Rindo and Tsukasa's moment at the beginning though .

That old man made a good point, Azami's continued  control of the school would be the beginning of the end for the school, taste in food in subjective, and you want variety in your life, if everyone leaves the school cooking with the same standard and technique it will become stale, businesses will stop recruiting chefs from Tootsuki because they want a unique identity from their chefs, if the chef they hire is just as good as the chef hired by the restaurant next door or every other restaurant they lose their unique selling point, ad with it loose clients, they'd be forced to charge less to get people through the door.

 

This business model could collapse the entire restaurant business in Japan, and would likely see a surgance in the type of low brow restaurants Azami wants to eliminate as they would be the ones providing a unique serivce and tastes. Azami's method could see a increase in demand for a few years before it would collapse within itself and customers would get bored and either choose to cook at home or find the low end restaurants for a different experience. No matter how great a chef is after eating their food everyday the dishes just become regular food and it would loose it's appeal, and with Azami's methods no matter which restaurant or chef you visit you will still be eating food cooked by the same person.

Uh, yeah. We all agree forcing everyone to adopt to "one style" of cooking is an idiotic idea of the highest order and that Azami is an ignorant and selfish kitten. From the beginning, cooking, like any other form of art is about creativity and subject to change from person to person. Not to mention not everyone shares or can afford his stupid, elitist views on cooking. He had poor motive from the beginning, and it wasn't fleshed out properly but again that may be the point. He's not supposed to be a good villain or complex, he merely is showing the worst aspects of an elitist snob gone wrong, and who also has the political/social power to do as he pleases. this idea is just full of red flags, especially when you consider how expensive gourmet food is.

Yeah, another thing that will continue to bug me, is Rindou agreeing, this girl was seen stuffing her face from multiple different vendors, indicating she likes a variety of tastes and styles, yet  then she's the first person shown to vote the new regime in, Is she really doing it for s**ts and giggles or does she have a reason that hasn't been shown...it seriously baffles me, maybe more than even Azami's way of thinking...ok maybe not as much as that.

 

As you say Gourmet food is expensive but if it all tastes the same, it loses it's value and it becomes the next Mcdonalds, only worst as even fast food franchises can taste different from one restaurant to the next, dispite the food being supplied from the same source and having their own prefered style.

No, you're pretty spot on. She seems like a wild card and is pretty whimsical overall, so most likely the reason she sided with Azami was because she can possibly get the most amusement out of it I assume. It IS baffling so I'm hoping that it is actually worth finding out the true reasoning for it later on. Unfortunately we maybe disappointed

 

and also agreed if all food tasted the same, what is the point? That kills off the idea of cooking itself it will just distribute the "exact same feed" to cattle then. It wouldn't matter where you go, it will all taste the same. That is not only boring, but systematic to the point No one will ever eat at a restaurant again. We all know what it is like to be "sick of the same food" over and over again don't we?

Which one, Erina/Souma, or Erina/Jouchirou? Because it looked like she really had a massive pre-teen crush on Jouchirou, when you consider it appears Azami also had a massive mancrush on Jouchirou, it makes things kinda creepy.

 

I'm surprised that Jouchirou actually turned up at the mansion before Azami was kicked out of the family, even more surprising is that from the looks of it, both Azami and Jouchirou could have been in the mansion at the same time, and Azami never noticed his beloved sempai was so close.

Erina Soma of course!  ( Erina x Joichiro is happening vicariously on his part one Generation later)   And yeah we were all under the impression Joichiro came to cook for Erina after Azami's abuse. Interesting twist actually

So Jouchirou only met with Erina once, and made enough of an inpression that she had a photo taken with him on the same day? and kept the photo close to get for all this time, on one side that's kinda creepy, on the other it's sad that one of her most cherished moments was one that lasted only a few hours. All this time we all pretty much thought he'd been part of Erina's live for longer but it may have been less time than he spent at the dorm.

That's what we all thought, but this part seems to indicate the opposite, She met Jouchirou six months before her fathers training started and she did mention how she had forgotten what cooking meant for her since then. So it looks like Jouchirou was not called in to deprogram her after Azami.

 

I wonder if this weeks episode goes towards explaining Erina's almost violent reaction towards Souma's cooking after the first time she tasted it, it subcontiously reminded her of the food that gave her the first sense of fun she had when cookings, and one of the few things she held dear to her before she was tortured by her father.

 

Also I originally just thought Erina was walking in her pajamas but after seeing this weeks flashback, I've come to the conclusion Erina's sense of fashion is shockingly simple, it doesn't show much skin at all, which in a manga that likes to strip the person of their clothes, is a stark contrast.

Well yeah, aside from the foodgasms, she's is quite modest. If you read chapter 52.5 she wasn't comfortable being seen in a bikini. anyway the new chapter is OUT!!!!!

maybe although I see that backfiring and it drops a few more spots. It reached number 5 this week. I think fans want to see some progression between those too at least. Like I understand that it could be too soon to for Erina to say it's delicious but it at east i hope that it helps her feel better at least and may trigger something in how she sees Soma from now on.

I don't think she will say it's disgusting, it would serve no purpose for her to make such a claim, unless the angle the writers are going for is for her to alienate her friends and join her father. She may not say it's delicious either, however I expect her to get a reaction similar to the one we say when Megumi went against the former number one one seat. She will fnd it's flaws and give a list of ways the dish could be improved, but she'll get that feeling of a family happily working together in a kitchen cooking together having fun, or something simlar. If Erina is still stuck at the same point as she was at the beginning of the manga, it will have a negative impact with the fans, the ratings could drop, Erina's popularity could take a massive tumble, in fact it could lead to her charactor being hated for being stuck at the same level she was at the beginning of the manga, and no matter what they do with her charactor in the future this moment would forever stick with her.

 

Next weeks chapter is being positioned as one that will change Erina's charactor, if it doesn't manage to deliver on it, the manga (or atleast her charactor) may not recover from the backlash.
