HOW IN ANY WAY DOES SHE LOOK HAPPY LIKE NARUTO IS RETURNING HER FEELINGS?

Ehhh, the only possible way the can be interpreted as pro-NH scene is if Naruto has finally realised how pretty Hinata is.

Ok, now I WANT to believe this the case since it's the most logical, but this is a romance film that seems to cater to Hinata. Even if it's retarded, NaruHina could still happen.

The main team seems to be Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, and Sai though which makes me feel better.
Remember back in the day during the Chuunin exams when Kakashi said that the Byakugan was even stronger than the Sharingan? We all thought that the Byakugan's importance got retconned after that because of the whole Sharingan/Rinnegan focus. Maybe the movie will attempt to reconcile that plothole. (It'll end up falling flat since the series is pretty much over at this point, but this is one way that the plot can be relevant to lore.)
I never seen it as a flaw in the series to be honest. I thought Kakashi talk about visual power. The Sharingan and the Rinnegan are more powerful in term of power, but the Byakugan got more visual prowess. It see thing for far away and leave you with almost no blind spot. Imagine if a Hyuga could have learn Ninjutsu like Kakashi with a Byakugan. That would be 1 badass ninja.

honestly even with the lack of basis in canon that pairing wouldn't be too bad
Sai/Sakura is much more positive than SS, anyway.

If this is what is really happening...then great, at least the movie saves some face, but I still will believe this movie is garbage with a forced romance subplot that really wasn't needed or could have been knocked out in the manga.
This...drama just wasn't needed.

Go re-read the kittening manga and take a kittening breather, or look over that scene closely again if you're too lazy to look at facts.

1 of the thing that I see as a flaw is which of the other Rookie, woman in particuly has learn their elemental ninjutsu . I mean imagine Sakura using water style ninjutsu or even Tsunade with any elemental ninjutsu. Character in the show are stick with 1 power. Super strength is an awesome power, I mean they both could kill any normal ninja (Check how Sasori body was blown to pieces) with 1 hit. But in a manga where the most noname basic ninja can spit fire if he got the right chakra element, you feel like it's not so super, though it's more powerful lol. I guess that was 1 major flaw in the manga and why Tsunade and Sakura appear weak while they're not.

Honestly, I don't know if they edited the scenes from the movie to that point to make it look as NH-related as it does or not. I don't know if they're being misleading or not in the trailer. But it's pretty clear that that particular shot/gif is laced with NH pandering, legitimate or not, which I'm assuming is the reason it's caused so much uproar.

I agree with you Fenris, furthermore in the trailer..Sakura and Naruto seem like they are cheering up Hinata..about finding her sister nothing more.
