@LuckyChi7: About 4 months and a half, actually. The Chikara filler arc was supposed to be 2012's movie. But somewhere in the middle of production, they had to cancel it because Kishi gave the green light for his collaboration. That's why RtN's animations look a bit subpar compared to the rest of the movies, except for some of the fight scenes.

Still can't believe NaruHina fans were rewarded for ignoring Naruto's feelings in this whole ordeal... They deluded themselves early to thinking Naruto's love for Sakura was merely a crush because he never openly stated he loved her himself in Part 2

Two years, two god damn years. That's how much time they spent on this movie, and I think that's a major drawback to the movie.  Kishi and SP had enough time to flesh this out into a great story, and to see this as the final result. It's just sad and I really mean it when I say that cause like I said before this could've a great movie. Again they spent two years working on this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they only spend like maybe a year just making RTN before it came out?

The question is: What did they literally plan do for two years?! I am not a pro when it comes to cinematic stuff.

SP has never put out much quality stuff, judging by the quality of 99% of the fillers they've produced in the Naruto anime. Also seeing how most of the Naruto movies have kind of sucked, anyway.

Or perhaps they make crap because they know people will still eat it up add if they're starving.

On another note, my personal opinion: I feel bad about the amount of hate Kishimoto is getting over this. I truly feel like he was capable of producing a better ending than the one wet got. Even if the writing in part two was already degrading in quality, an ending the lazy came out of nowhere.
Criticism is due, but I can't hate the man and his entire work over it.

At the time I honestly believed he did that to push Sasuke further to the side of evil.... instead I don't know what the point was. Honestly he just made it that instead of being the root of all the problems of Sasuke's mental health that Itachi and Sasuke were deeply in love, so Sasuke centered his life around him. The tone and character drives are constantly messed up because of that white washing.

Really? I thought they were always neutral to Sakura since she's apart of Team 7 lol.

Only about 3% of them. But believe me most of the yaoi fangirls have it out for Sakura. It's very sickening.

Well canon Sakura was turned into a bad character with those last few chapters... it's pretty hard to ignore. The only way I like her now is to avoid the last few chapters. A lot of people say she's OOC which is fine, but she doesn't look like a positive figure. She's now basically the most famous female character that is shown positively in an abusive relationship.

 

SS survives by it's OOC's elements. I don't blame anyone for disliking what Sakura became in the end of the canon story.

Itachi was my favorite Akatsuki member but his whole "ohhh I murdered my entire family because I was ORDERED to" sap story was a bunch of bullsh*t. He had a choice and I believe he subconciously wanted to kill off his clan which led him to the decision. No sane person would kill off their mom and dad because some village elders ordered them to even if a war started. I do believe he loved Sasuke but he had a sick twisted way of showing it.
Kikitten should just admit that some of his characters are off their rockers instead of trying to excuse them with "you let Rin die" or "my puppy Chibi died" or "I was ordered to kill my parents!" He's got a sick obsession with defending evildoers.

Seriously?? Now I just find that hilarious a movie like Road To Ninja that only took 4 months and a half told a better story than The Last which was in production for two years. The Chikara filler arc always did seem like a movie due to it's animation and the fact that there was an after and the scenes were still going during the credits. So I at least consider a Chikara a movie just split into tiny sections, and if we're going by that logic I'd consider RTN, Chikara, and Will of Fire The Best Naruto Movies that've come out.

 

You know someone should compile all the episodes of The Chikara into one giving it that movie like vibe with the exception of spliting it into parts or episodes in this case.

Tbh I just feel like in 2012 they just announced and the reason why they held it off was because they didn't have a script in place. I mean topping Road to Ninja definitely was gonna be a challenge, and I'm still trying to figure out how it came down to this. I've said this before, but had The Last be an AU universe with the Naruto we see in this film then maybe this movie could've been viewed as in different manner. Yeah the plot of this movie is still the same, but it would be AU (non canon). Yeah the retcons would still be there, but it wouldn't have really mattered if it went that route. However it didn't, and that's what's making this movie fail because it's suppose to be canon. The retcons aren't something you can pass up this time around, and like I said it hurts The Last.

 

You know if there is a behind the scenes or a making of The Last (highly doubt) then I'd be really curious to watch it and see what led them to think this was a master piece. I think it would've been hilarious to see if this love story was between Sasuke and Karin.
