We shouldn't worry about Japan on that front. Really, it's the Western audience that might prove troublesome since they eat NH like junk food for some reason. Granted, we also pirate a lot more, thus may not end up being the trump card SP hoped for.

I feel like they're going to bring back Oro and Kabuto for part 3 as an enemy against Bolt and friends. 

So Orochimaru and Kabuto are going to become like Team Rocket then? Lol Going after the NH kids along with Salad.

yup. it's been in production for two years, so a lot of time has been spent on this movie. all the merchandise they've put on the shelves isn't going to sell well if we go by the japanese fans disappointment, and remember that poster girl said that the store was filled with hinata everywhere and no team 7. they are desperate for some payoff from this.

omg, the western front... have you seen the youtube reviewers?! their inner fanboys are really disturbing. I can't believe that some guys tolerate and are even looking forward to this stuff. What is it about Hinata that they like so much?

Well so far the only other countries with a confirmed theatre release are the Philippines and Australia. I may not know just how many Naruto fans are actually in those countries, but they're certainly not going to be able to make up the difference in production expenses alone - that's assuming Hinata and NH carry a good amount of weight with fans there. It's the US release we have to be concerned about most.

But I hate Sasunaru and most of its shippers hate Sakura. I'm not about to become like NH/SS making fandom alliances with pairings I don't give a kitten about. XD

No doubt. The US and to a lesser extent the European markets are going to be the problem. The one good thing is I think most neutrals have just given up and moved on at this point. If my theory is correct and they are the biggest aspect of the fandom that will help... it's really going to amount to how strong NH is in the west, and how much SS is going to help them. The rest of us who ship are going to have to just avoid the movie, and hope that the neutrals don't decide to come back for curiosity sake.

Sad really. Most NH fans over here treat Hinata like a sex object and don't at all think of NH from the standpoint of how it impacts the story. Explains why a lot of them didn't give a kitten about the retcons, 180 degree character shifts or plotholes. I imagine that there will come a day when they look back and ask themselves what they were thinking supporting something with no literary merit whatsoever.

Two years, two god damn years. That's how much time they spent on this movie, and I think that's a major drawback to the movie.  Kishi and SP had enough time to flesh this out into a great story, and to see this as the final result. It's just sad and I really mean it when I say that cause like I said before this could've a great movie. Again they spent two years working on this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they only spend like maybe a year just making RTN before it came out?

I can't see the logic or incentive behind SS supporting NH at this point (the movie has little to no content related to their pairing or Sasuke) unless they're intending to use the other as a proxy for strengthening the studio/Kishi's confidence that they made the correct decision with the manga's ending.

It's also b/c Sakura in the west is hated with a passion. When they say they prefer Hinata, it's b/c they subconciously despise Sakura. This is what I truly believe is one of the reasons for Hinata's popularity. Every little action Hinata had is compared to Sakura's actions, and sadly, Hinata makes a better "impression" on many.

But do not worry: As many NH are out there, enough people don't care about Naruto anymore. There is no interest in Part 3 or anything else that is coming out. Watching and reading Naruto for a decade is enough for many people.
