Kishimoto has already worked out how he is going to justify Sasuke's actions. So yeah, anything that you feel is touching or a hidden sentiment is probably right on. It's the foreshadowing that Kishi is going to use to redeem Sasuke. Because it's going to happen, sooner or later, Kishi's going to redeem him.

You feel it too ?

I think there is really something subtle, and I think this is the source of the SasuSaku fans faith.
Because they see that Sasuke is on his way to be redeemed, and they think he will be in love with Sakura after that.

They are just interpreting too strongly the subtle hints of softening Kishimoto gave about Sasuke IMO. /// I know it's crazy to talk about softness about Sasuke when he just pierced Sakura's heart but IDK, there is something about him... I'm happy someone is thinking a little like me about it. I'm not crazy then lol.

I understand it can seem to be a crack, but to me, Sasuke looked like kind of touched or sad when he said to her she was annoying.

Don't you think his expression is weird ? He seems a little softened. His words are his same old words, but his expression made me think more, to be honest. I would never say something like some extreme SasuSaku fans are saying, but to me Sasuke still keep Naruto and Sakura in his heart, and he still care about them, despite all he is saying. I know he made Sakura suffer, and I hate him for that. I know he made Naruto suffer, and I know he wants to kill him right now. I hate him for that too. I really don't like this character. But IMO, Kishi will make him regret all this one day. And IMO, there is still something in his heart for Sakura and Naruto. He hesitated when she talked to him. Also, when she was knocked out, and Kakashi talked a little with Sasuke, Sasuke thought about his family. To me, this speaks volumes. I think he assimilates team7 as his family. Also, he knows pretty well he is an avenger, and he knows pretty well he's walking a dark path. I think he's aware of what Naruto feels for her, and I think he's aware of the fact that he's not the one that could make her happy. I sensed this because he said " I don't get what she loves about me ".

What he has done to her so far, and what he has done to her right now, in this genjutsu, is cruel and cold. But to me there is something hidden in all this, and maybe that's why SasuSaku fans are still believing in their pairing that much.

Because Sasuke looked touched/sad. And because we all know Kishimoto will redeem him. And we all know in the end there will be team7 smiling. Because it as been foreshadowed.

I'm sorry, but I completely disagree with this on many levels.

If we are really going to look at this analytically, then why not just knock Sakura out entirely instead of a genjutsu of him ripping out her heart? As pointed out, genjutsu is torture. Your analysis makes it sound like he is doing Sakura a favor by doing this and I can't stand by that logic. That's basically saying that no one is evil because eventually all evil deeds can be washed away by the fact that "they care too much." Should we say this about Obito too? "He started a war and killed people because he has a soft spot for humanity." I don't think anyone here would agree with that. How about Madara and the Tsukuyomi? Was what he did all part because he loved humanity too much or he had some deep hidden feelings that he wanted people to stop killing each other and save the world?

This is why people have this crazy notion that Sasuke secretly loves Sakura all because it starts with this. "Well, if he was truly evil, he could have just killed her outright." Well, if he was truly good why not just knock her out like he did before instead of the torture he just inflicted on her? Hell I could even argue that he didn't phycially attack her because he knew Naruto could stop him from doing it. Genjutsu is instantaneous and so it can't be stopped as easily as say a chidori would.

I don't see regret on Sasuke's face. I see a man who is tired of it all and just wanted her to shut up. He wants everyone to shut up and stop trying to tell him what to do. To me, it almost looked like he was laughing saying "What is this a joke? You're still on this kick? You serious?" Sasuke may soon feel regret, but right now he has none. I don't see it and I don't want to promote this idea that he was apparently "always regretful" of his actions like some are proclaiming.

Do some of you really take Kishimoto as an idiot...? That he has no idea what the hell he's doing with his manga? Honestly, get a grip people.

Yes. We do. Because he's so clearly demonstrated it with the inconsistencies and poor writing choices made throughout this arc, namely in the last 100-150 chapters. It's kinda plain as day he's desperate and either unsure of what he's doing, or he just doesn't care anymore.

Genjutsu is basically like waterboarding. It's still torture, just not using physical harm to an extent

Yeah definitely. The statement Sasuke made about 'why would she even like someone like me' is very introspective, and speaks more of his self-loathing than a hatred of Sakura. Like I said, Kishimoto has already worked out how he's going to make all of this okay so he can redeem Sasuke, so all the love talk in this chapter will show up again later. And I agree, I think what SS-ers are interpreting as his undying love is really just the things that will be twisted around to redeem Sasuke eventually. Not through love but through some team bond.

Yeah I know, but I have never heard of the torturer feeling regret for torturing people they were doing it to. Usually, it is after they commit such atrocities after a revelation, not during it. If he truly regretted it, why do it in the first place?

Because he doesn't feel anything for her in my opinion. IMO In her first confession when he rejected her and said goodbye he completely severed all of his bonds with everyone. The only person who he wasn't able to do this with is Naruto bc Naruto managed to preserve it in their VOTE fight by scratching Sasuke's headband. The only person that Sasuke will listen to is Naruto, he could care less about everyone else

He "couldn't care less." Saying he "could care less" means he does care at least a little.

If Sasuke does have some extremely subtle emotional connection with Sakura at all...then Kishi is bad at showing it. Even psychopaths who beat their wives have more connection than Sasuke has with Sakura. At least they are possessive.

I think Naruto and Sakura represent two different things to him as comrades. Naruto is his rival, his 'brother', the person who spurs him on. He's there to challenge Sasuke. Sakura, on the other hand, is there to make him waver. She's a roadblock to his revenge. Like when she pulled him out of the curse seal in the forest, or when she threatened to let the proctors know he was suffering under the seal. When Sakura poured her heart out to him, he started to shake. He hesitated. Just like when she confessed to him in181, he stopped, he listened. He doesn't want to be stopped, either back then or right now, so he lashed out at her violently.

At least that's what I took from it.

Naruto was ultimately going to be the only person to get through to him, lol. Remember that color page where Sasuke and Naruto are wearing friendship necklaces with each other's faces on them? It's just to show that he has a bond with team 7.

I just keep reading this panel over and over again and each time I do, it makes it seem that Sasuke was the most logical one in this chapter. Seriously, he's the biggest Anti-SS to have ever exist and his explanation right here, tells it all when it comes to his dislike for Sakura as a love interest.
