Well I'd rather say I'm salty than be accepting of such a BS ending like the one we got.

Probably, we don't really know considering how much he contradict himself with his interviews

But I agree that it's like as if Kishimoto is not happy about it and want to crap is own main character's personality *sigh*

There was clearly a deeper motive to his madness that we're not fully aware of yet. Could this have been his own decision or do you think that he may have been coerced into supporting this ending/movie?

Since the ending and mostly when we started to have his interviews, I have some mixed feelings. What I think is that somehow SP convinced him to take the NH road and he did not have what it takes to fight the decision. I mean, when I see the way he talked in his interviews, I have the impression that he can be easily 'manipulated' idk, it might be just a feelings but I just can't get it out of my head.

just the thought that this movie was in production for two years makes me really angry. no one from the production crew thought that this probably would be a terrible idea for a naruto movie? no one at all?

I'm sure a lot of people probably thought it was a bad idea just they didn't have any authority to do much about it. Kishimoto and the higher ups at SJ and SP made their decision. The only thing I'm confused about is in those two years Kishimoto kept dropping hints at NS and didn't bother to develop NH at all. It just blows my mind, like what were they thinking.

He does gives the impression of being easily manipulative. He keeps saying "I think", "I think", "I  think".

Does it really matter why he did it ? Its not important if he was forced into it or bribed into it or whatever, The fact is Kishimoto ruined everything that he's worked so much for over the last FIFTEEN years.

People will not remember the excellent parts of his writing in the series, what they'll remember is the way everything was destroyed in the end. Kishimoto failed as a mangaka, as simple as that.

Naruto manga will forever be remembered as a 'what could've been' & 'what should've been' story.

and the excuse is that it was all just a red herring. so he's been developing his red herring for 15 years? i don't buy that idiotic statement at all. i really hope he just comes out in his next interview and admit that something went wrong.

And now Pierrot's decision is coming back to haunt them with mediocre to negative reception for their movie. They're obviously an industry that's motivated by wealth through what they believe is trendy and appealing (especially what they believe is appealing). I'm wondering if perhaps the animosity and disillusionment felt might compel them to reflect on their decision. Unlikely? It's arguable. Surely they've realised by now that the home base is not going to earn them the revenue and acclaim they were hoping for, which is why they're turning to underhanded marketing tactics and possibly the West for support now.

Agreed. All the good moments in the manga have really been tarnished by the ending. The only way it can be saved is if he admits he messed up and rewrites the ending, but I doubt that's going to happen. They seem very committed to this ending because of how aggressive they were putting NH together in the Last. Not to mention the Bolt movie coming out next August, and part 3 with the new generation in the Spring. I think we're stuck with this garbage ending no matter what at this point.
