She's the only one that is allowed to wear his hat, and touch it. The only person to touch it in canon with his consent is Nami. And I've known that for years XD

Law had it too. Heck, Shanks gave it to him. So Shanks and Luffy didn't mind it. He's alright with nakama holding his hat because he trust them to care for it. He would of put the hat on Robin and beat Lucci, but obviously he couldn't reach her. As for the other Straw Hats, he had no reason to give them the hat. He wasn't saving them from years of torture by taking out their enemy (or in Robin's case, one of many enemies). The captain cares for his crew the most, and we've seen how his crewmates are ready to die for him if they have to. His love for his nakama is stronger than his comrades love for him. Heck. Chopper said that Luffy would have to find another doctor because his nakama was Robin, and almost killed himself. If Chopper would give his life for Robin, what would Luffy do for her? I'm sure letting her hold his hat is on the list. His nakama are equal. If he wants to favor Nami in the end because he wants a child and a wife, then go for it pirate king. As for now, he has a first mate in Zoro, but he doesn't treat him with more love or respect than someone like Usopp who opposed his orders. The only kind of nakama he needs to treat with a little less love than the others are the ones that aren't in his crew.

Once again. He didn't have to give it to anyone else. The only reasonable time to give to another nakama was when Robin was being held by CP9. Only problem was that he couldn't reach her. Luffy stated he didn't want a wife. He wants to be pirate king. Nami is family to him. Nothing more. Maybe more after he is pirate king. Oda even stated One Piece won't feature romance, as it gets in the way of him telling the story. If my Zoro x Tashigi ship is going to happen, I know it'll be in the last arc. Same goes for any ship outside of a married couple or something we see in the story.

Luffy doesn't want to be the hero, as he has told us in a joke. But like it or not, he is the hero in One Piece. Robin, Vivi, Nami, Rebecca, Viola. All women with their lives full of chaos and end up with a face full of tears as the hero Luffy saves the day. Luffy was smiling as Rebecca poured a gallon of tears on his face. Are they going to end up together since Luffy liked her clinging onto him like that? NO! Obviously Luffy treats women differently because they're women, and he is a guy. I think Nami has the best chance with Luffy. I really do. I would even give her a decent chance (around 30%) of getting with him and us seeing a kid. I'm just saying we won't get any romantic moments until the last arc if they're meant to be together. I will saw this though. He saw Nami naked twice, and loved it. He saw Hancock naked and didn't really care. You could call him nAmi-sexual. GET IT! kdfdsof ingwmrgiprwgpmw[

 

Edit: I'll also add that Sanji said that it sounded like Nami gave Luffy a love message on the dial recorder in Strong World. It was more of like a "hero come save me," but you know Sanji. He lives in a different fantasy from everyone else.

He could have done that many times already. Chopper on Drum Island, Vivi multiple times during her stay with the SH's, Robin on Sky Island before he went off to save Nami, he could have done it to Hachi and the Starfish when they were worried about Camie, he could have done it many, many times. But he didn't. 

 

It isn't about whether or not Nami is in the crew, it's about the fact that among all the women in this series (second among the crew behind Zoro), the one that he shares the strongest bond with, and the one that cares about him the most is Nami. Hammock does pester him, lol, she brings up marriage whenever theyre near each other XD

 

He doesn't treat women differently though, he doesn't care if you're a woman or a man. The only person that treats women differently is Sanji.
