Interesting Chapter...the new regime is turning out to be more oppressive each week, was good to see Souma show his skills but at the same time it was in an area he mastered before, so not at all surprising.

 

My first though at the conclusion was that he will obviously decline, but I can#t help but wonder what an interesting turn of events could take place if he accepted the offer. It could make the manga more interesting again. They did mention in the recent spoiler thread that the manga dropped to 9th position in the ratings, which is a surprise when you consider this happened during a story driven section of the manga not a transition chapter.

It would be interesting for sure but he'd need a good reason to. Because for all intents and purposes he's opposed to central, so That'd be Pretty OoC unless it's completely justified.

Logic tells me he will decline the offer. I think it would actually be cool if he accepted it. He could stir some things up from the inside (Code Geass' Suzaku's mentality here).

True but you can someitimes do more damage from the inside than looking in from the outside. It could also be a way of giving us an idea on why the Elite 10 members voted for the new regime as so far only two of the six member who originally signed make sense, the first, second and fourth seat make the least sense.

 

Even if Souma did accept I couldn't see him accepting the regime, I'd expect him to openly oppose the system and that would be something the number one seat would have to accept.

Yes, that's what I mean. Plus it would need to be portrayed realistically too right? But of course We all know Soma isn't manipulative or a liar so...... But it is a good idea over all

So...I went back a few chapters and I have been wondering how will Erina join Central since Azami is so sure that she will, then I thought about chapter 133 or 132 when Azami first appeared, we see Erina thinking about Soma's dad on how he didn't appear which got me thinking that maybe that'll be used on her to go to Central since Joichirou is her inspiration (something like that) and has never showed up

If anything, Erina may join PSD because she now knows of Soma's actual relationship to her idol. Yeah it's shallow, but like I said, no matter how much she really warmed up to Soma before she was still turning her nose down on him, for no real reason. So again, Her finding out is not to make her instantly go dere dere on Soma instantly, but  to stop her hostility towards him all together,and have them develop on better terms from there on out. Like remember Erina wasn't hooked up on thinking that soma was Joichiro's son. She was thinking about what he said, he's just focusing on the  situation at hand without worrying about the past, which may be inspiring to her though she may not even realize it.

What I find juicy (well besides the VERY welcome Erina fan service)   Was that she's thinking about alice AND  Soma but is being a tsundere about him as usual. That's a bit of Progress, cause she's not thinking of him annoying her. she's thinking about what he said as seriously as she thought About Alice confessing she always wanted to get along with Her.  Have her feelings for Soma changd? Oh I get excited thinking about it.  

 

I DID say that she may find Soma's "in the moment" attitude somewhat admirable

Oh Side note* I got my mom to watch this too. but of course like Fairy Tail she only complains about the over the top fan service but she enjoys the cooking and watching soma overcome challenges  she is a good cook herself too and is interested in chefs and cooking channels.

Hmmm....certainly an intereesting development, this would have to be Souma's loss right? And a ploy to get him in with the Elite ten. The mangaka knows no one will buy him willingly joining so it has to be a forced issue. However at the same time this could be a ploy to get the first seat to change his views, and be more open to other peoples cooking.

 

I can't see the number one seat losing, it just wouldn't make sense for Souma to get enough of a power-up to be capable of winning.

 

Well either way it's interesting to see how this pans out. On a side note it was good to see Erina back to her old self again, I was getting annoyed with her behaviour this past few weeks if i'm honest, to a point I was starting to root for Megumi more than her, though I will say Hisako, Alice and Rindo have surpassed her as my favourite female charactors.

Yeah I can't see Soma winning this one either, cause that would make him invincible and boring which would defy all suspension of disbelief. But at the same time Him losing would be writing into a corner then cause development would have to halt on him for the time being if he just becomes Tsukasa's lackey. My personal ideal Scenario would be a draw. Well  the way I see it it it could keep Soma safe and have Tsukasa's skills end up not being an informed ability which will get him striving to improve and not selfishly think only of his own cooking.. Or Soma loses but Tsukasa lets him go. Either is fine. If Soma wins Well I would have my entire mood killed and say for sure the Elite 10 is nothing special and their pride is all talk. but I'll just let it pass and move on. But yeah my ideal scenario is a draw or Soma loses but is saved from the consequences in one manner or another. Winning is not really a problem for me but I would say then that the writing is broken then nothing else to do at that school, no point in staying.

Its  an interesting twist of events for sure but depending of how its gonna go I'm not so sure its a good development if Soma joins central bc as everyone said there is just no way in hell he beats Tsukasa. I feel if that happens it will go against the plot which is Soma being the leader of the resistance and saving Tootsuki and Erina, also I don't see him progress in central as most say as it would also go against his views on them and what they're fighting for but if it does that means Azami was right and the manga will be in a huge mess, I think it will create just an unnecessary drama.

The way I see it there's only two options in here : 1. Soma loses but somehow doesn't join central (which it might be an asspull) or 2. Someone like (Erina & Hisako) interrupting the Shokugeki . I have no problem with Soma losing and getting some necessary development  as well as Eishi from this fight (like you said maybe for Soma to change his views with his way of cooking and see more of Eishi's cooking with this fight) but joining central is a big NO NO for me. 

 

Yeah seeing more of the Old Erina and getting some development that she desperately needed was a breath of fresh air, she's finally starting to think with her own head and finding her own way what she really wants do so that was good, its a slow buildup but I don't mind that much , Alice is definitely one of my favorites though I just love her character XD.
