And every other manga in existence doesn't do this *including* Bleach and OP?

Well seeing as though Gray, Erza, Lucy, Happy are a part of the main cast and they all had their own background arc, i don't see where you're complaint is. The only person that hasn't gotten a background arc is Natsu. And most likely he's next in line and that one will probably be something major. Or you mean the fact that one chapter might feature what a particular character is doing while several other characters have something going on at the same time?
On a side note, I tried to look at One Piece, it was just too silly for me.

I like Naruto because of the character interactions. Even if Kishi needs to actually let a woman (*cough*Sakura*cough*) shine on her own and win without any assistance for once, among a bunch of other little nitpicks, he does write a very intriguing story. Oh... and NaruSaku ftw, of course.
I like Bleach because of battles, battles, battles! There is always fighting going on in Bleach, or the lead up to a battle, or talking about a battle! The combat never ends! The occasional 'wtf?' twist is nice as well.
I like FMA because of the really well thought out and epic fights. There aren't as many battles like there are in Bleach (there are skirmishes, sure) but the epic battles are just that... epic.
I like One Piece because of the sheer amount of characters, and it's really kickass how 500 chapters later you can point at one and go 'I remember them back from like Chapter 5!' after they've been absent for the entire time in between. Of course, the completely innocent main character who has the hottest woman in the entire manga fall for him and he's totally clueless never gets old either. Go Hancock! Hahahaha!
I like Fairy Tail because of how characters like Natsu (and sometimes the others) can do something totally retarded in one panel, making me laugh my ass off, then in the next panel they say something cool followed by totally ripping their opponent a new one.
That's just a handful of the more well known manga that I follow. I try to concentrate on the aspects of a manga I like, and read it for that. If it's missing something I'm looking for, I just look for another manga that will fill it. It's a shame FMA is going to be ending soon, but it looks like Veritas is picking up, so I might be able to continue getting my epic battle fix...

Both actually, i didn't care for some of the main characters backstory and also some of the more anticipated fights taking place are being haulted or done off panel just like Natsu's fight was wrapped up so easily during Lucy's boring fight.
It's just my opinion though, so please don't get mad or disgruntled.

You mean like Erza vs Erza? XD I actually feel the opposite and am more interested in Lucy's fight than in hers. Maybe because Lucy's fights are usually quite short...or she is just less of a Mary Sue in my eyes. FT is more of a fun type of manga for me, not one that has a large amount of depth but the characters are extremely likable and its not a complete sob story like Naruto is half the time. Sometimes its nice to just have a lighthearted story with only momentary angst than a story that revolves around it.
Though that's interesting Paradox, because I am more drawn to the characters of Bleach than the Naruto characters (sometimes it feels like Kishimoto holds his characters back because he is so focused on moving the plot). But I agree that it's nice having a variety of manga that you get different forms of entertainment out of. And you don't have to be 'into' one manga at all times either. Sometimes I care more about Naruto, or more about Bleach, and other times I like FT better or another manga. Just depends XDD

Well you saw the majority of the natsu fight in a previous chapter. All we saw this chapter was how it concluded after Natsu go pissed off and got the dragon aura. I don't think the Erza vs Erza fight will be over any time soon and if it is, it's going to be a chapter dedicated to it. Besides the Natsu fight you should be waiting for hasn't occurred yet. I say this because I think at the end of the current fights everyone probably is going to come together for the last showdown.
And miss soupy, I'm sorry you don't like Erza, I guess not everyone can handle such high levels of awesome.

No, apparently not.
Sasuke arc overshadowed Naruto's main story for quite a few chapters. Also, some Bleach characters haven't the backstory as fleshed out as I like it to be.
FT has more character fleshing, IMHO.

I can't really agree with that because of most of part I was Naruto main story. Sasuke might have had a lot of chapters in part 2, but in comparison to either character Naruto far outweighs Sasuke's focus. Eitherway, Sasuke's a main character in the Naruto world anyway. I think what a lot of people forget to understand is, that just because a story might feature someone as the main hero, there are other characters that exist in that world also. The universe doesn't always revolve around that particular person's story. If it did the person writing misses out on opportunities to flesh out your world to give it weight.
If that was the case we wouldn't have things like the Kakashi Gaiden. Is he going to give every character a Gaiden, No. (At least I hope the fillers don't.) But that story was important in itself because it involved how Kakashi became the person he is today. Just like how Sasuke's arc developed him into the villain he is today that Naruto will have to one day confront.
Anyway, honestly I think Uzumaki is just grumpy because he hasn't seen Erza in a while. ^^ And because of that, i shall give you, your Erza fix for the week.

Not only we have merchandise of products everywhere, but now on mangas also, seriously, what these evil companies are making to our beloved characters?!
In the last special chapter of Fairy Tail Natsu and Co make a freking Coca Cola Adversment!
Take a look if you don't believe: http://www.multiupload.com/X7G6XD1JY6
Seriously, what have you done Hiro? And what now? Naruto Selling Nike Shoes for Ninjas?

It actually works more in favor for FT rather than Coca Cola. The brand names will feed off one another. It's all about that 'brand awareness' thing.

And after looking at it, (since I don't understand japanese) the mini-Manga looked slightly hilarious.

My reaction to this is honestly...*shrug* who cares XD
I've never understood why people get all hung up on 'artists selling out'. How exactly are they doing this? They want to make money. *People* want to make money. They are human. *Everyone* is too. They have the ways and means to make tons of extra cash, by flashing some company names. *I* would say HELL YAY if someone did that for me over something I could do be it acting, singing, manga artist, etc and whatever else.

Otaku pandering is nothing new. Evangelion is marketed onto so different various products.
- How about some Eva Canned Bread?
- Or an Eva Jacket?
- Emo flavored Doritos are the best!
- Curry and Cookies? I guess that makes more sense then the final episode of Evangelion
- Wouldn't you want to drink from Rei or Asuka's plug suit?

For a second there I got real excited about that last one True. Then I clicked on the link and got even more depressed.

But yeah it's true. I remember seeing all sorts of DBZ advertisements on the english sub VHS tapes I used to buy. Seeing a grown man in an orange and blue pajamas was sad, very, very sad.

Supply and demand.
Popular anime supply? High demand for goods. (OMG NARUTO NINJA SCROLLS)
Popular game? High demand for goods.
It's been done since the early days of anime, and it'll continue on long after.
