I liked the chapter. The fight went by fast and we finally got to see Yumichka's shikai. I must say unless you have quick shunpo or massive reiatsu your pretty much screwed against it. The panels and expressions of the character were nicely drawn and in depth. The fights are still going in the traditional pattern, but so far they seem to be ending quick and on a good pace.

These fights are needed. All of them are protecting the pillars from falling. If the pillars fall, then the fake Karakura town in Soul Society is transported to the real world and the Captains wont be able to fight. You have to give props to Kubo who actually cares about his side characters and giving them development, unlike Kishi who completely forgets about his and centers the plot around one clan :cookie:

I'm still looking forward to seeing Hisagi's shikai the most, and Ikkaku has always been a great character to see fight(though I doubt he's going to go bankai since hes fighting a fraccion). Kira not so much, but hey he might surprise me. After these fights I guess we'll switch back to Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra.

My rating if anyone cares is a 7/10

It was a bit slow, but at least they didn't drag out the fight.

I liked Yumichika's move. It's one of the strongest shikai's up to date imo.

And yeah, I want to see Hisagi's shikai as well. Ulqi vs Ichigo can wait.

I thought this chapter was a little boring for me simply because this ain't what I'm interested in seeing, but from a general perspective it was a pretty good chapter and really had more laughs in there than fighting. Plus it was cool to see Yumichika pwn with his shikai. Yumichika rocks! I personally can't wait to see all the other shinigami that came with Yamamoto fight though, like watch this turn into a whole big war with each significant individual opening their true strength, 'cause that'll just plain awesome to read. Then there'll be the big climactic battle with Aizen!

I liked this chapter. Izuru was not as 'strong' as the Arrancar, but still whooped him. I have to say, he's got one of the most unique zanpakuto out of the group of Ikkaku, Yumichika (although I can't say what Shuhei's zanpakuto is since we haven't really seen it yet). Overall, it was a cool chapter. Not the most action packed, but still cool.

Agreed! I hope Kubo gives us a glimpse of what the heck is happening in Hueco Mundo soon!

I loved this chapter... all the shinigami I thought were just pushovers ended up being quite badass after all, and we have yet to see any bankai action. ^^

The coolest part was finally seeing that weird 'U' shape being put to its proper use.

That cover is simply beautiful. Amazing art work and coloring. Ichigo looks pretty snappy in that outfit and it makes it seem like a portrait. The chapter was great and good pacing. Kubo is getting these fights over with nicely.

I have to admit, I never really liked Kira but he was pretty badass in this chapter. I've noticed Kubo has been adding a lot about pride lately with this fight and Yumichka's fight. It's a really important theme in the manga and he emphasizes it a lot even in these minor fights. Kira's speech was pretty cool as well. That ending line "A warrior does not beg for his life" added with him having his zanpakautos around Abirama Redder's neck was a killer (literally XD) scene.

Wonder who's next. Looking forward to either Hisagi or Ikkaku.

I liked this chapter a lot. It was more subtle than the previous ones and and it wasn't some large destructive battle but I loved the whole philosophy on war as I thought it was a very pretty but melancholy thought to provoke us with. I never really liked Kira's zanpaktou before but now I think it's actually really neat. So that was a good development for a more minor character, 'cause I think it's important that Kubo can create this enormous army of characters well and still give a proportioned and balanced aspect on all of them.
