You think it was almost as bad as naruto? I think naruto was much worse since it when on for more than 15 years.

 

Yeah i experienced the first shipping war for digimon when i was in my first grade class I remember rude sorato fans in my class rubbing it in to taiora fan after the ending and before the ending that the taiora pairing was never going to happen. The movie even made it worse when it ship tease taiora even further but rude sorato fans in my class who was watching the movie with the rest of our class kept claiming that she likes matt which annoyed me. But Years later on finding out the truth of why the pairing never happened it haunts me even more now.         

 

I do remember when i started to use the internet i saw one digimon forum that was owned by a taiora fan who got soo heartbroken that he shut the forum down. Due to his heartbreak over taiora not happening and i remember some taioras jumping ships. It was sad time for taiora fandom plus it was my first otp that crushed my heart.

I genuinely don't care about the ships tbh XD It's simply a nostalgic ride for me, that's all.

Same here I do not care about the ships, fine I care little more now since I discover anime romance, but still I care more about the Digimon.

 

Here a video about the 10 most powerful Digimon  ever. I have to say this video well made,but still is not perfect I am disagree with some things. He counted  Digimon from video games which this  is unstable why? because in a Digimon  video game sometimes you can defeat a Mega with a Rookie, so Do you really know  about the power of a Digimon? it better see the canon Digimon.

 

 

 

I must say with this video proves that the kids from Digimon Adventure has not had their ultimate threat yet. The kids  together with MaloMyotismon  would end their lives if Dagomon would evolve to Leviamon from the Dark Ocean or Deamon would evolve in his true form.

 

Let's see what happen in Digimon tri they have bunch of Digimon  use them.

the Naruto pairing wars were much worse but the digimon ones were also horrible

they went mainly through Digimon 1 and Digimon 2

 

I was beginning to use the internet at that time too and the digimon forums I searched were full of these pairing wars, even fanfiction.net was affected

Sorato sucks, sorry guys. They just have no chemistry and I hate everything it stands for (guy going out with girl even though he's known for years his best friend likes her; girl suddenly going out with the best friend of guy who likes her/who she likes)
Tai x Sora is better because:
They have more in common such as liking soccer & being childhood friends.
They both have hot tempers & are stubborn, very good for chemistry. They also have their differences like Sora's maturity balancing out Tai's impulsivity.
They have more interaction, like that time in Season 1 where the group split up after the Tai & Matt fight and Sora sticks with Tai. Or that time Sora was scared about going to Puppetmon's mansion and Tai told her not to worry and that he'd protect her heehee. <3 Or that other time Tai cried like b*tch because he failed to save Sora. Or when Sora was depressed during the Piedmon episodes where it was shown her greatest fear was failing Tai.
Little things like when Tai shielded Sora with his body even though Birddramon was covering both of them from danger, or when they're usually shown next to eachother in the show, openings, etc.
Their friends notice such as Izzy and Kari in the Digimon movie.
Even in that dumb scene where Sora is taking cookies to Matt she immediately looks uncomfortable/nervous when Tai arrives. Caught in the act eh? Lol

The only thing I remember about Matt & Sora in Season 1 was that time where Matt yelled at her because Biyomon destroyed the Digimon that kidnapped TK, and Tai had to step in to defend Sora lol.
I also support TK/Kari and Joe/Mimi, they are both so cute & have much evidence. <3

When was Digimon about shipping?....I just love it for what it is, I never cared for Sora like that, in fact I prefer Mimi (who I multiship:chuckle:) and Kari (ship with Davis and TK, mostly TK) and hated Yolei (except in the movie) lol I enjoyed it for what it was, not about shipping

You're also a Takari shipper ? My favorite ship is Takari b/c I remember season 2 more vividly than season 1 ( it helps that they did a rerun of season 2 during my fourth grade XD). Long time no see.

Lol I never realized how stupid the lyrics are!  Childhood nostalgia blinded me.  XD I know a lot of fans complain about the English dub but it's what most 90's Digimon fans grew up with before the internet boomed.  This is one of my favorite tracks from the English version:

That's a nice soundtrack... Digimon was a good childhood memory for me.

I used to live in Germany, but there, too, Digimon was unbelivably popular (almost as much as Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and DBZ). The german dub mostly sticked to the Japanese songs, and I think almost every teen in my generation knows the lyrics to the Digimon op by heart (at least they make more sense than the Japanse one) Sorry, couldn't find english subs to it:

You have a point about the original anime, the dub indeed added some Taiora moments during the course of adventure 01 (even if we can argue that things like Etemon's base events can count as some sort of Taiora moments coming from the original version itself)

 

The main problem however is the first movie, it blatant showed and teased Taiora all the way, even in japanese version, so since the movie IS canon, I think the way the dub handled their "separation" on adventure 02 made more sense than what the japanase did just brushing off the canon movie

The Takari fanbase would've heard about this long ago if this was the case

 

I have a good tumblr follower that argued that taiora wasn't just a dub creation and she argued about that scene of the etemons base.

I heard anime staff did that for act of revenge.

I heard the English anime director thought taiora was going to happen therefore he uplayed taiora moments. But at the same time some japanese writers gave ship teases to taiora in the sub because they thought that pairing was gonna happen. Heck in fact one writer got shocked when he came back and did the writing for revenge of dioblomon that he gave small fanservice moments for the pair.

 

I forgot to mention that the original japanese director never told his production crew in advance that he wanted sorato to happen thats why we got a canon movie that heavily shipped tease taiora by a different director that liked taiora. 

 

If they follow the epilogue I think it's unlikely

 

But I have nothing against Taimi, really

I kind of like it too

 

A digimon blogger i follow told me that it will follow the epilogue of 02 so no tai and mimi will get married to someone else.

 

Yeah im okay with taimi since i lost taiora but after hearing that news im just expecting more takari and sorato moments.
