That's a difficult one. Well short answer Yes and No, long answer well Kabuto tried to be Orochimaru. Itachi used Izanami in order for Kabuto to acknowledged himself, however what if Kabuto was like Orochimaru from the very beginning. What I mean is evil. So he stopped being Orochimaru and decided to be himself but he is still evil. That's Kabuto's real nature.

Yeah, I really just don't know, or have any clue how to expect this to play out now. But then, if Naruto isn't going to be a jinchuuriki anymore, I wonder about the possible foreshadowing of him being the next Sage of the Six Paths?

If you ask me, I feel like the next chapter will be to die or not to die moment. Kishi probably didn't want to reveal the guy until it's lined up well with Naruto's scenario. Madara is there and Team Taka is almost there. 8th chapter is the turning point, so it can be a sad end or a comeback end. Sad end is obviously both Naruto and Sasuke die or maybe just one of them. Comeback end will be like that guy helps Sasuke to stay alive, just need healing, and Naruto gets the other half or something else that will bring him back. That's how I see it next week.

Indeed. It wasn't stated that you had to stop being a giant turd in order to escape if it turned out that was what you really were. In fact, the jutsu would mean if you were going around and acting like Mother Teresa in order to hide or suppress the fact that you were the next coming of Jeffery Dahmer, then theoretically, you could not escape until you accept that you wanted to butcher people an eat them. It's not hard to see the dire consequences of that.

 

The real purpose of this technique was to teach the audience a lesson about accepting who you really are without any thought into the scenario where you turned out to be an even bigger jerk than who you were before. In short, doing so is treated as an inherent good (without defending that point). Of course, this is Kishimoto, I wonder what the odds are that acknowledging himself turns him into a bigger a-hole than he already was, especially since the true villain is already here and we have already the seen "the why you should feel sorry for me" flashback.

 

I'd be less annoyed by the whole thing if the justification for the jutsu's existence made sense, but it doesn't. It's very much the solution in search of a problem scenario and the problem it found didn't make a lot of sense (nor does the solution).

 

It's probably the stupidest technique in the entire series and that's even if I call Naruto's winning technique over Kiba a jutsu.

It could be Kabuto, his chakra changing could have made him unrecognizable to Karin.

 

Its evenly likely for the brothers to be in the pot or had dissipated at some point leaving only the chakra, its all viable but in my guess, guy and lee would end up beating them up. The last thing kishi would want to do is start another battle when we are already in one where the heroes are on defense mode and need to start another just to save the heroes. If Kishi needed to, he could simply have the pots released, have gaara bring them down, then minato FTG their butts and take the energy away and siphon it to naruto.

 

Its funny, really really funny but you need to look at the current situation with the past, the uzumaki stamina and the brothers were both forms of plot armor, we assumed kushina and naruto could survive the extraction until it was revealed the fate was the same, they just last longer. The brothers were plot armor to naruto so the ten tails could be formed and we got the fight with it. Now in the sense, its again still plot armor with the uzumaki stamina, Naruto is still alive due to the stamina slowly depleting while sakura is keeping his heart running. Really its just one situation traded for another, Madara takes the original save but ironically drops another save for the heroes.

 

Yes this chapter has what you call double irony.

Ironic that the plan we thought would work ended up didn't working that the main villian would take said original plan while unintentionally throwing down a save for the hero elsewhere.

 

Despite the drama, I fully commend kishi for this, this is his way of making Madara fully complete, hes bound to get the eye and Yin Kurama, thus this will fulfill what the sage told the tailed beasts in that they would all be united again and later take new forms. So we can infer that naruto will get the brothers chakra to live, but also gain his tailed beast powers back, remember if a jinchurki dies but is later revived, they bear traces of the tailed beast's power and still hold onto the abilities they had back then, naruto may not have a tailed beast mode, but he would have a stronger form of just the chakra mode we could infer now. But as it stands, the brothers are really just plot armor for naruto. Both ways to progress the story, if kishi is good on anything, he didn't leave anything behind or unanswered, in recent chapters we got clues for yamato, kabuto, and those sealed in the pot and gourd despite not really important plotwise only.

 

Also why is yamato going to show up at taka? Well remember how the rinnegan is awakened? Yamato has Senju DNA....

Yeah Sasuke is getting the Rinnegan. Could it be yamato at sasukes position? Doubt it, im going with the majority and saying kabuto but we will see next week.

 

Yes its a dramatic standoff, Madara grows stronger, the heroes lost what they think is their final hope but madara ironically dropped another. Naruto is to be saved from the airdrop madara did while sasukes hope is in the stranger, seriously the stranger will fix him. Sakura will be by naruto this whole time, remember that recovery should be a good NS moment. Sakura is fine, madara most likely wont care, even then its not suprising if they learn of the other thing quick enough, Minato may sense the ninetails chakra by guy and lee, (remember what I said about former jinchurki, in this case as minato was an edo tensei, he didnt have the removal impacts but he should still have ability to sense kurama chakra) unlike the brothers, minato is a full jinchurki just undead, the brothers were infused or pseudo jinchurki. They had access to powers like kurama but couldnt fully manifest them.

Its the 7th chapter of this volume so in 3 weeks, by march 5th, this volume is done provided no breaks occur. I suspect naruto and sasuke will be up by volumes end or early next volume. We have a battle to progress, basically its one sided right now but after the recovery, naruto and sasuke push back to win. Remember the events of this current volume, it began where the last left off, Madara's revival. In that short time he came back to life, he soloed the tailed beasts, yanked kurama and gyuki from naruto and bee, got his other rinnegan, nailed tobirama, stabbed sasuke, became the jubbi jinchurki, and is now about to get complete. All these chapters nowadays are told in 10 short miniarcs. This span of 658 to 667 is basically madara steamrolling and could end with a better end chapter of naruto and sasuke standing ready to fight. Hey we got a NS moment with Sakura focused on his dream thats something good to us in all this drama, its a lot of growth on her part, just imagine the reaction to the recovery and how this impacts her in the future when the final battle comes up, she is almost going to lose naruto could you imagine how it is to her if it happened again?

 

Really this is why NH fans shoudlnt make an issue, Hinata got the easy part of the drama, she is concerned about naruto and hopes for his safety, but sakura being there, actually witnessing naruto dying slowly, seeing her power not healing him, desperate to save him, sakuras worried, shocked and concerned more than ever in 662 to 663. Imagine how its impacting her, how would she act if she cannot save her best friend when she is the only one keeping him alive, if naruto died hinata would be very sad, but sakura would be torn, it would have been her literally losing naruto while she made every effort to keep her best friend alive and who did everything she could with all present and available options, that if naruto died after this chapter, how hope was about to be restored only for it to be snatched away in an instant. Hinata would be sad by this, but sakuras got the bigger cut of the drama in this aspect. We know hinata will be happy naruto makes it despite not seeing the event (most likely) but Sakura, this drama and scared aspect on her, imagine the opposite that should come when naruto is sitting up again, sakura would see how her ability and work with others was enough to save naruto, she would be happy at naruto standing again because her efforts help saved him and she didnt lose him like tsunade did with Dan. I really hope the recovery of naruto from sakuras view is something to make her tear up in joy. Its not out of the question at this point.

Nice chapter, I just didn't like The Neji panel, so out of place really.

I don't think Kishi has done enough research to know that that particular number has such dubious indications in the west. Then again, one can definitely see biblical parallels (forbidden fruit, Cain and Abel, etc.) in the creation myth of the Narutoverse.

What if that happen ? We don't know the true motivation of Orochimaru, and when Sasuke resurrected him the first thing he said was that he wanted to take his body.

 

What if the person is a partner of Orochimaru :o

 

We only have confirmation that Orochimaru took back his own chakra. It wasn't argued that he might have been deprived of the genetic material he implanted from Taka or the Sound 5 (or that he lost recollection of the training and experience gained from Ryuchidou). 

 

In the event that Kabuto was actually stripped down to just his basic chakra though, Karin wouldn't be able to put a memorable face to the figure since the temperament and morality of the chakra is foreign to what she probably recognises as Kabuto's signal. 

 

Orochimaru could try to take advantage of the situation, but Taka's loyalties reside in Sasuke. To get to Sasuke, he would need to defeat them and possibly the mysterious figure. If this unknown character turns out to be an enemy of DSM Kabuto's calibre then Taka is doomed. In such a worst case scenario, their only gambit would be to try and free Tobirama from the chakra rods so he can fight the snake duo. But there's also the fact that Tobirama is under Orochimaru's control to take into consideration. It could easily backfire on them.

That too. The point is you can only do so much in a really bad state. Plus, the betrayal doesn't help as you're in full of disbelief. It's the emotional play. You always see a strong person falls down or two due to emotions. That's why they have characters taking emotions out, to keep moving forward with nothing to hold back.

I still think it's Kabuto, maybe him accepting who he was lead to him shreading all the genetic modifications he did on his body, or alternatively all the genetic modifications changed him so much that it makes him into a completely different person? The only other alternatives I can think of is Anko, but why would she go to Sasuke and be barefoot. or it might be Yamato, it's possible with the ten tails summened he became free and he got to Sasuke sensing the first Hokages chakra which he is also infused with...I highly doubt Jiraiya came back from the dead, so it really only leaves those three. Anko is the least likely, Yamato is possible considering Madara was at that location moments before (but also unlikely as Karin should be able to recognise him, unless he was also changed enough from the experiment Kabuto did on him that he is also unrecognisable to a sensor) So most likely it is Kabuto. I know some people think it's the Sage which I still can't see, and if he ends up giving Sasuke his powers then I think the Internet would rage like no mans business.

 

Well looks like Naruto might not be able to get the other half of Kurama afterall...things definitely looks bleak, ofcourse it's a good thing Madara just happened to spit out a source of Kurama chakra that could possably save Naruto from certain death...though honestly you'd think with Minato seeing how the Black Zetsu got the jump on them,  he'd be more caucious knowing what the Black Zetsu is capable of. Though that was cruel from Kishimoto he showed the flashback making us belief Minato would save his son only for the Beast to be extracted from him or atleast maybe extracted from him, (actually i'm not 100% sure if the other half of Kurama was completely extracted.)

 

Part of me is hoping that he actually doesn't get Kurama back yet (or not the full bijuu powers) and he is revived some other way. I want to see Naruto fight with his own powers he inherited, I want to see the power of the Uzumaki Clan unlocked within him, we saw Naruto Uzumaki as a Ninja grow for years but recently all his power-ups have been Sage or Kurama related. I miss the days of old when it was Naruto who mastered the Rasengan, or the incomplete Rasenshuriken....or even when he learnt Sage mode and figured out it could help him complete the RasenShuriken...Give us the Naruto of old where his powers are his own and/or his birthright.

 

Also: Just look at the way Karin ran off to save Sasuke, how can SasuSaku fans think they have a chance against that? Also LOL at Kushina knowing exactly how her son would turn out to be...if only she was around, he'd atleast have someone who could explain girls to him.

In his defense, Black Zetsu was like in a tiny hole. No one could see that from a far view, unless your eyes is beyond 20/20. If it was like the way how Shikamaru's shadow works, then I can see why you would be foolish enough not to see it happening.

Yeah, but a small hole? The last encounter, Zetsu just pop up. Zetsu with Obito looked like a dummy as the real one went to get Minato's Kuruma.
