I understand this. However, it's not any less disappointing. Sakura is a main character. Main character means their abilities should be focused on and foreshadowed a lot more than it was. And I'm not singling her out, it's fairly obvious Sasuke also suffers from this. Though to a much ridiculous extent, given his eye powers. What makes this worse is that Sakura was sidelined the majority of the story, to the point most people believed she was simply a supporting character.

 

I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, but I don't like Kishi handled this. Sakura's much stronger and I'm extremely happy over it, don't get wrong. I just wish it was executed a lot better. That's my minor beef, not trying to piss anyone off lol.

 

Oh man, I'm absolutely not angry and I'm so sorry if it came off in that way.  Really, really sorry about that!  I actually agree with you quite a bit, I really do, I'm just...I guess I'm over it at this point.  Does that make sense?  I don't expect to get a Sakura-centric training arc, or even a Sasuke-centric training arc, so I just don't let it bother me anymore.  I guess, it's just what I expect at this point.

 

Like, there's so much that I think Kishi could have done, focused more on medical ninjutsu as a whole, focused on Tsunade-Shizune-Sakura's relationship (you know, when Sakura revealed her seal I though Shizune would be a bit jealous and was pleasantly surprised that she wasn't, LOL) etc etc but we didn't get that because while Sakura is a main character and the heroine, she's not the titular character and this manga is extremely Naruto-centric.  I'm just trying not to let these things bother me anymore, haha.

 

I really am sorry if my last reply to you came out angry or harsh, that really, truly wasn't my intention at all.  I'm usually multi-tasking when posting and I just didn't realize how harsh it could have come off.  Really sorry.

Well, I didn't say that, but I will agree that it is that too. When I say adventure, I mean stuff like One Piece, where there is one main goal, but that doesn't mean you have only have one or two villain/organization. Have you see Naruto (the series) to have a different villain that is NOT associated with Akatsuki or Orochimaru? No, because it's one big story. In others, you can just explore different problems and well, that's it. I guess that's why there are people that aren't used to multiple stories in one manga, and yes, I have encountered those types. But I can go on, I'll just stop here.

@morgaine4: I never thought you were angry, don't have to rush to apologize.   I just know this forum is full of Sakura fans and some of you get ruffled feathers when calling her abilities somewhat of an asspull, so I just wanted to let you know that while it bothers me still, I'm not too hung up over it.

Obito is starting to feel the heat from Naruto's talk no jutsu. He's going to eventually crack, especially with the return of Kakashi, and the knowledge of Rin is going to come pouring out.

Naruto will be the one to make the connection and use the NS/ObiRin parallel to get on a personal level with Obito kinda how he did with Nagato. Sasuke will be standing there listening to it. Hell, the whole alliance will be. That will be Naruto's confession and dealing with one of the "regrets".

Sakura might get ONE panel of her face going   during this.

The thing is for me is that, how can one pinpoint the gap between she and Tsunade when Tsunade pretty much finished the job AFTER she and Naruto had saved him from dying.

Sakura/Naruto- saved his life

Tsunade-restored his chakra

I wonder where Sakura stands when being compared to Tsunade. I'm sure she's not far behind, and considering her age and her current feats, she's quite the young disciple.

If Tsunade had actually saved him and restored his chakra for Sakura, then I'd be like WTF. lol

 

Here's a better question then, if she is as great as everybody here say she is, and that she is on par with Tsunade herself, then I'm going to ask you a logical question, then why couldn't she do the same thing Tsunade did? she has the cloak currently active, which should be more than enough to put her chakra output at Tsunade's level. Tsunade is a Senju/Uzumaki hybrid, which puts her chakra above the average shinobi's chakra (I'd put it at Base Minato's chakra level). 

 

With that in mind, it should be a snap for her to actually accomplish what Tsunade did. Kishi attempted to build the drama around healing Shikamaru, but failed in the end. So, the real question is, how come Tsunade, without a chakra cloak at all can heal Shikamaru so easily whereas Sakura seemed to struggle with the chakra cloak in her possession?? 

 

In fact, it made it seem Sakura's contribution wasn't much compared to Tsunade's. Another question to that scene would be, just how much did Sakura contribute?? which follows right into Atheck's question below.

 

What Kishi has not done is make a clear distinction between Tsunade and Sakura. He's done it with Naru/Sasu so why is it so hard for him to do the same for her?? 

 

Isn't the power of Kurama amplifying Sakura's jutsu and reserves though? Sakura enshrouded with the energy of a bijuu doesn't provide a clear-cut example of her progression to the same status as Tsunade. She needs to demonstrate what she's capable of next to her teacher without the cloak to make a definitive comparison.

 

 

I really loved Naruto's final words at the end of the chapter; "I'll sleep tomorrow, I can dream on my own!"

 

It tied in really nicely and was slightly inspiring. It made me think of the theme song of Road to Ninja, "Well Then, See You Again Tomorrow."

 

"What he sought after, what she shed tears for, what you grieved over is none other than "today"

those humdrum days, it seems as if someone hid them away, and it seems we've lost them.. do we look like we can get them back?

Well then, see you tomorrow!"

 

I thought Naruto's words were similar to these lyrics, sending the same optimistic hope towards tomorrow. This chapter gave me that sort of vibe. I really enjoyed it.

I disagree, showing that Sakura was capable of battling on par with Tsunade and that Tsunade had no doubts of Sakura's abilities closed the gap.  It's the same technique that Kishi used with Naruto, he had Naruto fight beside the Hokage to eventually show in what way he surpassed them, so now he's having Sakura fight beside Tsunade and there's a chance that he'll eventually show in what way she has surpassed Tsunade (or he might not, it really depends).  Plus the fact that her seal release was low key to me indicates that we'll see something more.  But to each zher own, and I'm probably wrong.  =)

 

Well, you're taking about what's happening in this chapter, not the previous..... but yeah, we may see Sakura make a distinction between her and Tsunade soon. I'd still like Jiraiya to be revived, though.... it'd be nice to see the Sannin go all "Heh, can't let our brats take all the glory, eh?? So, shall we do it like old times?? Let's show 'em the power of the Sannin!!!"

I definitely agree that it should have, and could have, been handled much better. In my opinion, Sakura's powerup should have come a lot sooner than it did, I'm nonetheless ecstatic about seeing Sakura grow stronger, but it never should have taken so long.

I dont know, i mean it would make scenes like the summit arc totally different and even Pain's arc.

But her development before the war arc was never about powerups, i just didnt liked is that she got this meaningfull development for her without at least having one chapter of flashback showing her training.

Way better than back and forth chapters we are receiving.

I was interested to see if the term was recovery or regeneration...Cause I think that's an important thing, but as I see it's recovery, which is quite with 2 blades, so to speak... And that part with Byakugo it's not that clarifying either, if it's talking about the jutsu or the seal...

About the Byakugou, the raw is unclear. Tsunade was speaking about 2 byakugou users in terms of counter people. She didn't specify if it was a seal or a jutsu. Imho, they just used their seals for unleashing their chakra in order to summon a bigger part of Katsuyu.
About the recovery/regeneration stuff, the kanji is always the same about the healing powers, 回復 (kaifuku) which means heal/recover/rehabilitate as everyone have always translated. Anyway I don't think that it's a great difference. Ninja upon that melted katsuyu are practically almost immortal.

Imo it is important because, as we know, Katsuyu;s healing prowess is linked to Tsunade's Byakugo, respectively now, Sakura's. So are they transmitting partially the jutsu via her or not.
As for recovery, I was interested if it goes to the extent of Tsunade's own regenerative ability...
