Not a bad chapter, though I still can't figure out Orochimaru.So Sakura has false feelings about Sasuke huh?

Though the only part I did hate about this chapter was Kakashi getting skewered in the chest . Hopefully this turns out to be a genjutsu or he somehow survives. I hope

I still think/hope that Orochimaru has something sinister up his robe. He is just playing nice until he finds his opportunity. (If he doesn't take over Sasuke or Madara, maybe Tobi? Obito gets redeemed, but then is backstabbed by a bad guy.)

 

I don't think the Karin humor worked well, but I don't have the hatred some people do. She is a masochist, so she can hate the murder attempt while still getting a thrill from being "cut". Lots of people can despise something that they know is bad for them, but still return to their addiction.

 

Sakura is looking concerned, and this was before Naruto and Sasuke started squabbling. Just a few minutes earlier, she had hope that Team 7 could go back to being friends that work together, and she saw that it was already crumbling.

 

I do wonder about Shikamaru's reaction. I suspect he is still planning to assassinate Sasuke, if he sees an opening. He might be figuring out if/when to include Sakura in his plans. Or if I wanted to throw out a wild (and unlikely) theory, what if he and Ino did a body possession of Sakura? She seemed awfully detached right before Sai landed next to her. The "fake smile" would be their attempt to act like Sakura would. (Unlikely, but I'm playing with where the story might go.)

I think she'll make it clear she's had enough of Sasuke's BS. I think Team 7 as a whole will try to hide their drama from the rest of the Konoha 11 + Sai because it's not their issue. Sasuke was THEIR teammate and they will handle it. Hence Sakura's reaction to Sai's question. She doesn't trust Sasuke but she's not going to let everyone else know and freak out about it, especially right now. This is also why Shikamaru didn't say anything to Ino.

That is a good point. Some people badmouth their family, but still get very defensive if anyone else says anything negative. When Naruto and Sakura defend Sasuke, it is not that they agree with him, but they will still support him in public to "outsiders". (As others have said, at some point, this trust will be irrevocably broken.)

As for NaruSaku, im afraid of that declaration that she still trust Sasuke... And that smile  I think that a SasuSaku moment is going to come soon... and its gonna be big.

 

Im hype to see the Kages back, however I would have like to see Tsunade dead. Its fun that she is still alive, but how come Naruto become Hokage if she is still in the picture. Also , Sakura would have experiance the same event than Naruto, wich is loosing her Sensei.

 

Overall tought of the chapter, it was great ( Minus the first part with Karin and Suigestu interactions ). Im hype to see the rest of Kakashi vs Obito !

If her smile is a lie, her words must be a lie. She said she was happy that he's back..she trusts him, it's all a lie in my eyes.

I think Sakura wants to feel like what she said was true, which makes her sincere because she really doesn't want to make team 7's reunion all about suspicion and distrust, but she can't feel how she wants to feel and that results in the fake smile.

Guess this event with sakura, how it will effect her, if she really is saddened and knows Sasukes decision to remove all the tailed beasts, well this includes naruto and bee, if he tries to kill naruto, that won't sit well with sakura. Sakura is just trying to mask her pain and being upset that he still possesses the same dark thoughts. So I was thinking, since sai asked naruto how he thought about sakura and now how sakura really feels about sasukes choice, does anyone suspect chapter 540 will be resolved or that sai may ask sakura how she feels about naruto? After all the events that came to this point? It's at this point, sakura is not going to revert, fan girl, abandon naruto, or even do something foolish like the land of iron I'm betting, she is smart, she acted maturely at this point, I don't see her just doing something insane again, she isn't going to just defect and listen to Sasuke obediently, she put her faith in naruto, at this point i can see her actions when it comes to Sasuke, being done only to help naruto. At this point would it be safe to say sakura is concerned for naruto than Sasuke? This could just be another thing to set up the development of team 7 but for sakura, her maturity can come in and finally let her have some change in her longest mental trait regarding Sasuke.

Exactly. She's masking it all with a smile. I don't even think she's aware that it's fake, but deep down down, she definitely has her doubts when it comes to Sasuke for sure. I'm definitely loving all of this from Sakura though.

Few things that pop to my mind from this chapter:

 

Now that Orochimaru too has found an "heir" to his beliefs (all he said about wanting to see what the winds someone else create, do and Sasuke shown). I'm really curious to see what Tsunade, as the last of the Sannin to pass along her beliefs, will forward to Sakura. For this I'm very curious.

 

I find myself to be along the lines of many, that Sakura responded to Sai what she felt she should think. But the fake smile was used to show that she really couldn't believe that herself and she knows Sasuke is going to literally stab Naruto in his back soon, maybe even before this battle is over. And Naruto starts to know this too.

 

I predict that when Sasuke is going for the kill, Sakura will try to take the shot, only to be restrained by Sai who's going to get killed in her stead...

I wonder how she would react in another downtime segment if Sai asked her how she truly felt about Naruto. I mean at this point Naruto is the one who gives her hope (even she knows that) and Sasuke still causes her pain. It may be wishful thinking for now but with the whole forehead ordeal just opened right now as well, if Sai actually asked Sakura how she felt about Naruto, that would be a big revelation but I doubt this would come up considering stuff like that would be near the end. For now I would expect Sakura to have some sort of recollection on all her interaction with Sasuke and what he caused to her and Naruto. Its like the man she "loves" being Sasuke, well she cares for naruto a lot too, so what is she to do if Sasuke attempts to destroy kurama with Naruto? Sakura said one thing but really meant another with her fake smile. Perhaps she wants to keep everyone from worrying but its not going to work on Sai, this is the 3rd time he has caught her fake smile. I don't think Sakura is planning anything (cause that would be outrageous) but she really is just hurt and sad that something bad may be ready to happen soon. However this time I would be expecting her to have learned herself that she does not need to handle Sasuke alone, she merely needs to do what she can for Naruto as she told the allaince back in 630. Basically if it means physically helping Naruto or just having faith in him, when it comes to sasuke at this point I would be thinking that she would handle it the right way, not mess up again as she always claimed she did.

i just read the latest chapter.. overall, i'd say that it was a good one.

hmmm.. Kishi really wants to use Sai's relationships issue to bring out the main characters feelings.. which is really clever of him, since it can be viewed in a positive or negative way depending on who reads the manga (or who you ship)...
Sai already knows Naruto's feelings, so now he's asking Sakura... and that smile of hers, it's not just not real, it's full of pain,. and my old SasuSaku heart wants to know how It will end,. i believe that this pair(or not) needs to have a closure, because they parted in a very lovers-like way, and i understand that some SasuSaku shippers hold on to that scene., but then, he tried to kill her off during the times they met..
im not jumping back to SasuSaku, there's no way i would., but all these panels of Sakura from the recent chapters makes me think that sooner than later, we will finally know who she loves more and im betting it's the blonde boy..

one other thing i finally noticed after so many chapters and hopefully someone can enlighten me here.. why is Kishi bringing up all the power houses? the kages are powered up ready for another battle, the previous hokages are also present, and NaruSakuSasu are also kicking hard... if Madara is going to sit and watch while waiting for Hashi, does this mean that all these powerhouses are going to fight only the jyuubi? how strong is this jyuubi anyway? or is there something going to happen that will turn the situation all upside down? am i missing something here or did Kishi already hinted on it?.. oh and is Tsunade surprised that Sakura summoned Katsuyu? this chapter created so many questions than answer.... really good Kishi!

oh and that last page was awesome, that means, next stop is Kakashi & Obito, right.? or atleast part of it.. cant wait!..

Hmm... Is it me, or does this chapter sets up quite a lot of things? The more I read on to this chapter, the more questions popped in my mind. But anyway, let's see:
 
-OK, so it seems that Katsuyu must be a titan slug, since we have two big Katsuyus on the battlefield right now and Oro says that this is only a small fry. I'm interested in seeing more about Katsuyu and the Shikkotsu Forest.
 
-I'm also quite curious as to how can Tsunade keep the diamond seal at this point. Last time I remember, her seal disappeared when she couldn't keep her young look anymore. Then again, after going back to where she spoke about saving the kages, she still had the diamond; so I have to wonder if a coma is worse than being split in two. Maybe I'm over-thinking this one...
 
-Heh... I don't know how to feel about the dialogue between Oro, Karin and Suigetsu. I just take it as an interaction between weird characters. Weird characters = weird desires. Oh well, in the end, they helped Tsunade "pull herself together" so that's a plus.
 
-Although some people feel weird about Oro suddenly turning "good", I honestly don't mind how he's behaving at the moment. Then again, that's probably because I don't see him being good at all. To me, I think he's just doing what's more convenient ("I don't want to be sealed before I can enjoy that wind"). Reminds me a bit of what Kabuto did when Naruto went 4 tails. He healed Sakura while saying that, he would cooperate because they had a common enemy in Akatsuki. Plus, considering that even Tsunade can't read him right now, I'm sure that he has his own plans in the making. However, I do have to wonder what did he mean by Jiraiya changing if he was alive ("People change; either that or they die before they can"). And finally, where is he going next? I'm kinda hoping that he saves Yamato... although the captain might not be happy to see him.
 
-Anyway, Tsunade and Sakura parallel. Kishi, you just love parallels, don't you?
 
-Hashi... why do I still see him so goofy?
 
-So... am I the only one who sees Sasuke's speech very similar to Obito's?
 
-Sai... why do I see you as the one who will bring NS together? "Anti-SS(with this chapter)", "Pro NS(with chapters 458-459; 474, along with other few chapters in the past). Anyway, the more we see into Sakura, the more I realize that her confession was indeed an honest one. This reminds me a lot of what she said to Naruto about Sasuke causing her pain and my belief is that Kishi is portraying this to make it even clearer. The pain in that fake smile was portrayed so accurately that even the readers feel the pain, and I'm not sure if other people noticed, but even Sai's anger (even is it's just his eye after Sakura speaks) can be felt in this one. And to top it of, Shikamaru also felt something.
 
On a side note: This reminds me so much of Haruko (Slam Dunk series)
 
-The kages are back. That's good, but I have to wonder what role will they play now. We know what Tsunade can do, and I have a slight feeling that A and Gaara can do something too, but I'm not sure what to make of the other two. Wait and see I guess...
 
-And finally, a fatal cliffhanger of sorts. It seems that the last chapter of this volume might bring a close to the Kakashi-Obito battle. Let;s see how this goes.
 
Overall, I think it was a good chapter, but seeing how many open doors are at the moment, I do have to wonder is Naruto has been extended a bit more. Not that I want it to end soon but I think some doors need to be closed to give a focus on this climatic battle.

Sakura realizing it herself would be best but it in the same way Sai did not need to ask Naruto how he felt about Sakura nor even reveal the stuff to Sakura. He revealed Naruto's love to Sakura because he rather felt he could not just sit by and do nothing after all he put himself through at the kumo nin. But Sakura is maturing, her growth physically has been good for the past few chapters, but she is still mainly a mentally driven character and one of her biggest traits has been her love for Sasuke, if this is finally coming to a change it will be something that sets her up for a better resolution. I can see her having some type of success in the struggle with Sasuke's motives unlike in the land of iron when she took the problem upon herself. This time, when Sasuke turns his sharigan on Naruto and maybe the rest of the allaince, I see her standing by naruto, weather she takes a phsyical role or just has faith in Naruto, her form of success would be helping him, again just phsycially now with her new power or even just having faith in him making everything right. Hey Naruto knew she could fight, Sakura read him perfectly in 630, if anything, I would not find it surprising if Sakura simply left faith in Naruto.
