I find it funny that team 10's attack was a human yo-yo, kinda strange but creative. They are using the real teamwork. Team 8 was all solo, team 7 only summoned their respective guys this current chapter too.

 

These summons are interesting, maybe they are all the children of Gamabunta, Katsuyu, and Manda? That would be a neat symbolism. A new generation of the great toad, slug, and snake summons. Heh Naruto is the new toad sage, so does this make Sakura the new slug princess?

 

Now we don't need to make an issue over Hinata, it was all internal, it was just her herself, NH didn't improve or advance in anyway. NS is fine, again, nothing interacted with it, so let the pairing stuff die down for now. This is why I enjoyed the chapter, no pairing stuff, I mean people will try to twist it but an internal moment was just that, an internal moment. Unlike last chapter, we had Sakura doing this, but what made that internal focus on Sakura herself so good was she recounted all her times with being the one to depend on them then we saw her unleash the white strength seal, rocket ahead, and both her teammates saw her back, Sakura recounted on her own failures and all her progresses that had brought her to that moment, that was significant. Then we get this with Hinata and half of its filled with Naruto. She didn't even consider Neji, I cannot believe she just had confidence and now its this again. 630, 631, and 632 still outshine this by a good margin. I can understand Hinata wanting to stand by naruto even as just a friend but Hinata, there is more in this world then Naruto, whats really bad now to me, it seems like she just disregarded her own speech now, saying how everyone was helping each other and him in 615 now she is just focused on him, Neji just died and she still thinks only of Naruto.   If any female character is at risk of reversion to part 1, I would think its anyone but Sakura, I mean she acted maturely in 631 and 632 with Sasuke coming and still focused on Naruto for most of her time recently.

This chapter was a good setup chapter. It was nice to see the sasunaru rivalry again haha.

According to mangastreams translation Hinata says "naruto-kun I want to stay by your side forever" or something like that lol. I can't wait until Kish truly develops Hinata because this is kinda sad.

THIS CHAPTER WAS SO GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!  the rookies have their shining moments.. . but the best part was definitely .. TEAM 7!!! The last page was pure EPICNESS!!!    
 
 

It isn't that we are adverse to her receiving some acknowledgement in battle. The flaw with Hinata lies in her mentality. All she appears to do is fixate on Naruto without holding much regard for the other people in her life. What about offering her cousin gratitude as well for his sacrifice? Or her teammates for having always stood by her side? Does she not have any ambitions of her own like reconciling with her father and attempting to prove that she is capable of acting as the heiress of her clan? The one-dimensionality of her character is what many people become agitated by.

THIS. Even if she ends up with Naruto, she has to grown out of him. It's just unhealthy that everything in her life revolves around Naruto, she has to believe in yourself, find out who she is and what she wants ...  she has to have a life aside from Naruto.
 
I really enjoy her power up in that chapter... the only problem was that "Naruto centric" thing... I'd have liked it more if she had said something like: "I want to show the Hyuugas are strong too ... I want to honor my clan"
 

And in this week it's the turn of NH about screaming "Canon!!"
 
I enjoyed the chapter... I still don't like how Sasuke have magically took out snakes summoning... Wasn't Manda dead? Who's the kittening is that snake?
 
Sasuke summoned Katsuyu, it seems... But she wasn't with Tsunade the last time that we have seen her?
 
This chapter is the chater promised by Kishimoto in the interview where he said that each rookie will shine during the war. And he did it.
 
Ehi, that panel where Naruto and Hinata are holding hands and Naruto smiles to her (without Chakra mode) was just some mental image from Hinata, right?

 
eh, I don't think so.. it seems like it's from the "holding hands" scene... in Hinata's POV.

I don't see any problem here honestly....

My only problem with this is that Kishi keep bringing Hinata's love for Naruto. People ship NH because of her love for him, if he keeps bringing it over and over again... how he will make people accept NaruSaku in the end?

Because I see a lot of negative reactions concerning her thoughts or better said, zero thoughts about Neji helping her and being there for her...

My problem is with people who only see all Hinata's stuff as pairing moment and love, Naruto smiled at her which we can see on the 615, which was acknowledgement from him saying that she was at his side like everyone else, including Neji and his friends and not only them but also the whole army which Sakura pointed out, all his speech were about him acknowledging everyone as his comrades.

It's nothing new that again she drew her development from him but still Nh is just Hinata and the motor for her character if people doesnt accept NS is their problem not mine, Naruto loves Sakura, Sakura is starting to love Naruto dont see any problem here.

Also people ship NH because they like Hinata's character just look when they wanted to kill Naruto just becuase he said Sakura was his GF.

She still didnt thanked up Neji after he died to save her, omg this character along with Sasuke(summoning snakes) were just to make my day better.

Its really hard to tell, I mean she did something big and now just goes more Naruto this and that.

 

I mean with Hinata just pulling more confidence in thinking of the hand holding, its really only showing it from her side, we still have not seen it from Naruto's or even him mentioning it beyond 615. Unless we ever even see thoughts of Hinata from Naruto outside of her presence, what is there to go by? As many NH fans claim that he somehow loves her now? Naruto still hardly has Hinata crossing his mind and others act like she was always involved with him.

 

I mean if the past few chapters were a slap in the face to all Sakura haters, what is kishi trying to do with Hinata now? I mean the Sakura=Kushina thing is still in play and cannot be re-attributed (unless kishi wants to make things more confusing), so for those screaming a NH canon again, just by an internal moment, yeah, she gained more confidence again by thinking of Naruto, and here I thought she was finally going to leave that crutch behind. The Sakura-Kushina thing will come back later, I mean foreshadowing element persist but this Hinata thought, its just been said and done. Least Sakura may up protecting the wounded with Katsuyu. Least this chapter ended in a good moment with the summoning.

 

Still have not reached the climax of this volume. We are halfway through it now, chapter 5 of volume 66. Now something major could happen soon. In 2-3 weeks we will know. Otherwise I'm waiting to see what 634 has with the summonings. That should be good. Sakura still has a future role in the Naruto vs Sasuke fight too, she may have had some big time recently, but she will get more near the end. Team 7 still has a story and NS still has the great potential 631 opened for it. Everything is still good and Sakura has shown maturity around Sasuke and is still focused highly Naruto, now if only Kishi would put in a forehead event in the future.

Nothing changed this chapter, I liked the action of this chapter, I hope we get more.

Sai's abysmal performance in this chapter despite being part of Team 7 and a lack of proper characterization for individuals like Tenten are two perfect examples of that. In regards to the former I just felt so bad for Sai because unlike Sasuke he actually does value the relationships he has with his teammates and he made a genuine effort to become more than an emotionally oblivious soldier residing in the shadows. Honestly, I believe that Sai deserves to stand alongside Naruto and Sakura in this battle moreso than Sasuke, regardless of any parallels Kishi is trying to reaffirm.

I feel that for some reason Sakura is going only to heal all the wounded and will assist the guys who are back holding the attacks of the monsters army while Naruto and Sasuke will slip thought and attack the Juubi.
Despite the huge improvement she had only until now only her brute strenght increased considerably but still she lacks long-range offensive skills, which Tsunade also lacks.

Naruto's summon was Gamakichi, most likely.  Although his last appearance didn't have him that big.... Maybe summoned Toads get larger faster?  I don't know about the other two.  The slug was probably still Katsuyu....

 

 

 

Anyway, onto the main issue with this chapter.  Two, actually... SPOILER TAGS ON THE FRONT PAGE.  The instructions for making Spoilers is in the 2.0 thread.

 

Also, WHAT THE HELL.  Hinata makes an appearance and all of a sudden, the reaction's pretty much "WTF, GET THIS B OUT OF THIS MANGA....."    

 

This was a genuinely awesome moment for ALL of Rookie 9 and most focus on the fact that Hinata's appeared.

She thanked both NEJI and NARUTO for giving her the strength to move forward without fear.  That's, like, major Hinata character development right there.....

 

 

Also would have to adjust to character tier.

True. While I enjoy this moment and overall manga there are still some things I don't like in Kishi's writings.

I think the "always been by his side" is meant, not in a romantic sense, but rather that her progress was held back by him.  I'm guessing is a phrase that isn't translating well into English.  She wants to move forward without him.

I just feel that, remember how we all reacted in chapter 540 with Sakura after revealing she loved Sasuke still? When he was still in crazy revengence mode and had recently nearly killed her twice? I kinda feel a similar sense with Hinata, she had her 615 speech/moment with Naruto and even some progress in the short time afterwards and then we are back to this, I'm not saying Hinata needs to forget Naruto, its just is it that hard to get her to by her own two feet? Have a time when she is not thinking of Naruto, do it for herself? Thats all many like me want to see.

 

Sai, yeah after nearly 20 chapters of abstance, he makes a return. Kinda sad, its already June, last we saw him was december in 615. Too bad he didn't get to show something off. As usual Lee and TenTen are left behind.

 

As for the summoning stuff, I can understand the formation:

Gamachiki and Sasuke's snake will work together to get them to the ten tails main body and help the allaince. Sakura will have katsuyu heal and protect many others. Likewise I feel she will give part of Katsyu to Naruto and Sasuke to keep in contact with them. I feel Sakura is going to do partly what tsunade did in the invasion of pain. Possibly a remote healing on Naruto and Sasuke through Katsuyu. If Sakura can use Katasuyu as a beacon for healing like Tsunade did for communication, maybe its some remote long distance healing? This would be one of the best healing menuveres ever, healing with the healer out of enemy range.

 

Just wonder if this is the full extent of Sakura's powers though, I mean will we see anything else with the seal?

For people that are still confused with what Hinata said:

 

Hinata says she wants to keep being at Naruto's side, but Naruto always keeps moving forward, so to do as such she also must keep moving forward in order to not fall behind once again now that she has finally reached him.

 

It was never a romance thing, it's about Hinata wanting to remain an equal to him. She got the strength to do the 64 palms so she could still be at his side and fight with him. Being "forever" at Naruto's side is more about never becoming a liability to him from now on.

 

Hinata might love Naruto, but her statements about being at his side don't have anything to do with wanting to be his girlfriend.

Ok, i've been racking my brains about these questions.

 

"What direction is he taking Hinata's character in? furthermore what is he trying to accomplish/show his readers with Hinata?

 

So regarding this chapter and her "I will be by Naruto forever" remark, i really am getting confused as to how Kishi is going to resolve her... worship of Naruto...

 

Ok so i've thought up of some scenario's that are somewhat plausible:

 

1) Hinata dies. Simple and striaght to the point. The reason is the be with you forever remark. Clearly this isn't going to happen (unless it's friendship only but that is clearly not what she meant by this)

 

If Hinata dies she will confess to Naruto bla bla bla etc etc.... but will then say i always will be with you and support you/love etc etc etc.... very corny but...

 

2) Hinata does a Sakura - > sasuke confession. Basically she says i love you bla bla bla but Naruto won't act like Sasuke. he will confront her saying Thank you for you concern but i love Sakura.

 

(Extremely whacky theory but possible) After this confession Hinata will confront Sakura with her own POAL asking Sakura to cherish/defend/love Naruto forever. This would serve Sakura to make her understand What Naruto did for her in Part 1..

 

Hinata getting with Naruto (being with him forever) is... almost no existant as of 631 unless Sakura dies...

 

Anyway i'm just at a loss as to how Kishi will resolve Hinata
