It's either an alternate dimension in which Minato and Kushina didn't die thanks to Kurama's attack or Tobi made a very strong illusion jutsu but didn't recreate Naruto's friends properly.

LAWL. But on one hand.... if Sakura also got distorted, into a portrayal that (happens to) fit with opposite fandoms' views on her, then it would be a not-so-subtle jab at them from Kishi.

Something's been bothering me a bit about that cover. Hinata, in line with Kushina. Some may take that is a parallel POV, right? Though I suppose you could also take Minato/Ino as a parallel. lol.

Fenris, you worry about the weirdest things. Its just the position of characters in the poster. Side characters back row, the main characters or focus at the front row. The front and back row are totally unrelated.

If you guys would like to understand why, it's because we would be waiting for a year to watch it while Kishi makes references to it in the manga and we wouldn't know what the hell is going on!!!!

*First set: Looks like Kishi is trying to give Naruto more muscle mass, because he's definitely look more beefier than his canon self. He also wearing some bandage design on his arms like Sasuke wore back in Part 1.

*There is a guy wearing a mask, looks like a brand new ANBU character

*Second set: I'm 85% sure that's Sakura on the left because that's her hairstyle. On the right is another new character... looks like a descendant of the Sage of Six Paths or an Uchiha.

*Third set: another new character or that's the sketch of the same ANBU character from the first set with his full design.

Actually, the masked character seems to be Rikudou himself. From his clothing, you can definitely see the motif/pattern on his back, looks like the Sage's cloak.

So this has to do with Tobi's plan. hmmmm I still am with the whole different world bit but maybe this is inside Naruto's head and not real due to Tobi's genjutsu plan and all that.

Sorry if you were offended by me calling you defensive. I'm not saying you're defensive as a person. I'm saying you're defending Sakura's feelings too much. Isn't that what you're doing? Like redragon88 said, its not that I WANT to see her suffer. It just creates more impact to a romantic story. You're suggesting that love is all happy where no one gets hurt. Love isn't like that, its bittersweet. Its not an easy journey and people always gets hurt along the way. The important thing is after all that suffering, they are still able to be together for each other. I think that's what Kishi is emphasizing in his manga. That love isn't always about hearts and doves. Naruto already suffered with the POAL. For Sakura to truly understand Naruto's pain, it would be best if she experienced it herself.

now that you said that it sounds like kishi may be taking a similar approach with what the creator of dbz did with gohan and videl maybe. with everyone thinking gohan was dead and videl suffering?anyways i see what you mean and i agree. i'm a NARUTO and SAKURA fan too and don't want to see them suffer but i agree with your points. they may have to each suffer in some way before they get together. but i also have to agree with everyone else when i say that they've already suffered enough already. i mean with sakura constantly getting heartbroken, don't you think she's suffered enough already?though also retaining to the future naruto vs sasuke fight, and this is to everyone here,how do we know something like shown in the ova,with sakura thinking she lost naruto, won't happen or not? we don't know, only kishi knows this. i say we just don't worry about it because they'll eventually get together in the end.
