Oh! Damn, that's true I totally agree! If he accepted her confession right then and there we wouldn't appreciate it as much with all the romantic tension and whatnot then it finally EXPLODES! Fsho, dude I can't wait now xD. Haha I was so confused to what the hell Kishimoto was doing, but now I know it will be GREAT in due time xD.

Oh and I knew about the keeping other couples "alive" for the sake of fans reading and continuing to read the series, also I think Kishi dragging this whole thing on is making other people convert to NaruSaku fans! Have you noticed? There's been an increase in ppl who believe in NaruSaku happening, oops well not exactly fans. But in a way that's like a fan, supporting them... But yeah tis gonna be a GREAT LOVE STORY FOR NARUSAKU

I'm one of them dude. I was originally a NaruHina fan since the start of the series. Since at that time I thought Naruto would never get Sakura. But once I found out that he has a chance(a big one at that), I became a full NaruSaku fan. No one can ignore the massive number and magnitude of undeniable proof!

Question. I understand sakura gave her confession to protect naruto, but did she do it solely out of guilt for hurting him, out of care for him, or both? And if you can, please explain your answer.

wtf? lol of course its both. yes she felt guilty she cares about him more then anybody and she thinks she gave him the most pain.
but her feelings for him are seperate from guilt. she has these feelings for Naruto shes not forcing them shes going off her emotions. we have seen this throughtout the manga how her feelings have got stronger and deeper.

Did you mean whether her feelings for Naruto is true or not? Guilt for hurting him = confess to make him happy after hurting him alot, even if she has no feelings for Naruto, and out of care for him = she loves him? If you are asking about guilt, nothing to do with feelings, then of course she feels guilty. She cried alot when Sai told her the promise of a lifetime hurt Naruto alot.

what i wanna know is if sakura wasnt gonna tell naruto about killing sasuke in the first place, why didnt she just go around naruto without talking to him? maybe even without making contact with him?

i felt like when she confessed, she lied about not wanting sasuke back, but was sincere about her feelings toward naruto. in fact i bet naruto wouldnt have said anything, if she didnt even mention sasuke's name

but sakura's not very good at hiding her inside feelings, they always come out one way or another.

obviously she cares lol but she also felt guilty for that promise and it crushed her. how much she cares for Naruto is what pushed her to do something (remember she was sad and upset she couldn't help him in anyway before) she wound't have done anything hadn't Sai told her Naruto loved her. what she wanted to do this to free him from the promise, stop Sasuke from hurting him and have him hate her.

Ok just take it this way. I've already explained why she felt guilty. But why would she go to the extreme of confessing to Naruto if guilt is the only thing she feels? It doesn't make sense to tell someone you love him/her just because you feel guilty. So that means she also cares for Naruto. Since she feels guilty and cares for him, what she thought the best course of action was to confess. She said "I've done nothing but mistakes. I don't want to make another one." And she straight away confesses right after saying that to herself. Wouldn't that be a very BIG mistake if she didn't have true feelings for Naruto? Furthermore, the fact that she confesses right after saying she don't want to make another mistake proves that she don't want to regret not telling her TRUE feelings.

So basically the answer is: both. I hope this answers your question.

EDIT: Oh anyway when I saw her saying she don't want to make another mistake after knowing Naruto loves her, I half expected her to say "I love you" to Naruto. I was still shocked when she did it because it was so sudden! Anyway that is a typical situation leading to a confession no?
