I find the worry almost as funny as like how SS fans and NH fans violently reacted towards 632 only one week later past 631 and started going:
"AHAHAHA lo its an anti-NS chapter lol see you were trolled!"
When apparently a quick smirk from sasuke being surprised at sakuras power and naruto having a fear of it is somehow a pro ss and anti ns moment at once? Likewise when Sakura thanked sasuke but not naruto on the save that meant anti-ns as well?
It wasn't pairing based at all, it was just quick solid humor, Sasuke had not seen nor expected that from her so it was a bit of a suprise but it didnt overly matter to him when we saw how he is now. Likewise how many times has naruto made this fishlips face when he got spooked at something? I mean he did it in the start of part 2 when he first saw sakuras power, he did it when Kushina told him she beat up her bullies, and again here? Besides wouldn't naruto wanting acknowledgement of helping sakura, couldnt that also be argued that he wants praise or attention from her, wouldnt that you know, fit the bill of the old dynamic on how he wanted sakura to notice him? If anything wanting notion from her could be argued that it proves he is still in love with her if he wants the looks she gives sasuke, but seriously it was just meant for honest to goodness humor, the deal of naruto being surprised and being jealous of sasuke getting the attention, hell that right there means he still wants sakuras love, aka he still loves her.
Its funny how pairing fans have been violently taking anything and everything they could practically ever since 631. I mean even on narutos relationships page on the wiki, after the minato entry, before the 663 stuff, they put in "after seeing sakuras power from her strength of 100 seal, her power frighted naruto to the point he would never poke fun at her again." They have this in place of say, something better like they used to have, the entry used to be "After she was done healing naruto, naruto told her to rest while he and sasuke prepared to fight the ten tails but sakura instead protested his remark saying that she was not a weak woman and also a disciple of a sannin, to this naruto smiled and looked forward with a reborn team 7 ready to face the ten tails."
But fans being nitpicky even on the wiki about everything had to put the other one that doesn't proclaim something excellent on her part like this one, towards him, they instead want to try and make it so its just again a red herring, lets ignore it cause kishi has done such a wonderful job telling us that NH and SS will come, no really Shayalama-ding dongs the last airbender makes more sense then kishis handling of NH and SS if he is intent on it.
But now with SS fans going, "OMG I hope SS stuff happens" when its likely not going too, its just sad to see that some of the pairing fanbase, its become so provocative and so devolved, every little thing is like a powder keg ready to go off. I mean is this all because of 631 and 663? Is this because SS may be done for? Is it because HInata is gone for now and NH fans cannot really ride on anything new?
Its just like that, they want anything they can find at this point to say everything is like a pro-ss moment despite the negativity and still some think sasuke has these super hidden feelings for sakura, its just, wow my lord are people expecting this stuff? I mean some say we got our hopes too high for sakura with naruto at the end of the recovery event but it didn't change the fact we got a NS moment while NH didnt nor SS either. I mean trying to say the stuff in 632 was purely anti-NS when it could even be argued that naruto wanting praise from sakura still invokes the fact he wants the attention she gives sasuke, aka he wants her to notice him, based on him loving her? Guess that one passed them. I mean apparently the chapter showing a scene based off the old team 7 dynamic is to be super serious and not for a good laugh? I mean Sakura wasn't serious about hokage either, she was just messing with naruto, maybe this instead for the same purpose of I don't know, comedy like in 631? I mean that sakura-kushina event, it was for humor but it was a humorous moment to set up the sakura kushina parallel and give you a hint. Otherwise in the humor it also proved naruto still loved sakura, otherwise why would he even make an issue of sakura not praising him off the ways of the old team 7 dynamic? It was all just for humor in 632, nothing anti or pro, but even then because 631 has naruto still even liking the idea of sakura as his girlfriend to which he replies more or less and makes an issue of her not thanking him for helping in the save, thats just proof he still loves her. Even in these moments NH and SS fans tried to make as anti, ironically theres still a scent of pro ns stuff there even in the humor. I mean SS wasn't exactly good 3 chapters later and Naruto didn't even think of Hinata. He still loves Sakura and thats just something they need to swallow. Narutos moment with his father was for humor but it also built on the foreshadow. Everything in 632 was just humor, nothing anti and if we had to argue it, there was still more pro-ns stuff there, not some reason of him turning away from sakura because of this, thats just outright stupid. It was just the old dynamic at work for that one moment, nothing more or less. 631 was again, for humor but it proved naruto still loves sakura and it was the setup to show and reveal that sakura was like kushina, a build on that foreshadow. Fans going crazy recently, it must be because their ships are lacking moments? Thats all I can say.
And the funny thing is, now Naruto's crush on Sakura isn't shallow like that, and Sakura seems to be giving much more love and attention towards Naruto, because she cares about his safety and his dreams - not Sasuke's.
