Hinata is one of the many villagers to pretend to regard kakshi with disgust.
Kakashi hits Naruto when Naruto is the source of these rumors, causing Hinata to actually regard Kakashi with disgust.
So Naruto spreads unsavory rumors about someone, while also trying to force him to become hokage while also bad mouthing the current hokage at the same time, and hinata fine with it. In fact goes along with it. That person hits Naruto because of his actions were damaging his reputation and Hinata fines that morally reprehensible? God, she really does have a Naruto centered mind set. And that putting it mildly.
wha....???
Is this nonsense from the novel? Naruto is no longer about ninjas at all - it's all about romance. And all the wrong ships!!
edit: Deep down, I wonder what Kishimoto really thinks about this. He banged the drum for years and years that he didn't care about the pairings, that the series wasn't about that. And yet, in the end, it's ONLY about that. The cool characters, the wide story background, the fight techniques and the suspense...all gone. Now it's down to this drivel. The novels are garbage, and Boruto is awful. It is literally everything that Kishimoto said it wasn't. He must hate it now. Even if he gets a check from it. Deep down, he can't be happy with it.
That's all they have left. *shakes head* That's all they have left. Remember Boruto will be a slice of life anime about Bolt's academy days. The manga is just going to be a retread of Naruto's Naruto and Sasuke rivalry plot and conflict between reforming or maintaining the ninja system.
He most likely isn't. Kishimoto originally put Sakura in the manga because his editor told him to add a rival for Naruto and then kishimoto decided to add a love interest as well. Basing Sakura off what type of women he likes. Then he met and married his wife; who someone notice was just like Sakura. So to please his wife and let her know he loves her while he forced to work long hours; he made Sakura more like her and made NS a "symbol" (forgetting the right literary term at the moment) of their relationship. Then he was told by his editors that "the fans that have been supporting him for years hate Sakura and love Hinata." We know how that really turned out, and this made his wife angry at him for abandoning NS that was suppose to be based off their relationship. He still married to his wife with another kid on the way, so clearly he doesn't want to leave her. But she is still probably disappointed at him, and his reputation as a mangaka was ruined by the end parings.
So no, he probably isn't happy with the ending. Also remember he wanted to be gone and working on his next manga by this point.
And, of course, not even good romance..."unsavory rumors"...why do such a thing unless you have some sort of malicious intent behind them? Only makes Naruto look more like a scumbag.
Of course, NH extremists will try to defend it as Naruto "just being his prankster self", but at least his actual pranks in part one were HARMLESS pranks that didn't actually hurt anyone, but "unsavory rumors", especially about someone with a reputation like Kakashi, can end up having really bad consequences for the one they're about regardless of whether they're true or not, unless it gets proven without a shadow of a doubt that they're false. Otherwise, that seed of doubt about that person will always be there and people would rather be safe than sorry just in case those rumors just might be true.
That was probably the intent. Remember the writer was the guy that had wrote the NS novels before the ending. People at the time thought he had intentionally made Naruto even more of a scumbag because he hated the ending. Remember he also called Tsunade basically worthless as hokage in that novel as well.
Saw something in another thread about Bolt and Salad's names, and it got me thinking....
Bolt I get (dumb, but I get it). But it's ironic that Sarada's named after a meal that is just a mess of different parts served in one bowl. Think about it — a salad is just the sum of it's parts. It's not a "new" concoction. It's not several ingredients cooked together until they are transformed into a new meal. There's a reason her name is not "Soup."
Just like Sasuke and Sakura didn't have a romantic connection or even merge households, there is no love between them to create a child. There is no blending or melting together. She's not a representation of their love, like with Minato and Kushina being represented in Naruto, as a mix of both of them. Sarada's not a blend of her parents, their personalities or insecurities. And she's doesn't have a blend of their skills.
Sakura is no where present in Sarada...so much so that they were able to do a whole story arc about her not knowing who her mother was. But beneath it all is a truth that's unresolved at the end of that arc: Sarada is all Sasuke and none of Sakura. Sakura is merely the caregiver. Her personality, her struggle and everything that she loved and represented in the series has been erased.
Sarada is just broken up pieces of other characters (specifically Sasuke and Karin), dropped into a new vessel. Just like her name "Salad" says.
Yeah, that Naruto as the prankster garbage goes against Naruto being the future Hokage and Narutoverse peacebringer/chosen one. It doesn't show an evolution or maturing of his character. Hinata sympathizers want Naruto to revert to that part 1 prankster, especially when it concerns Kakashi, because it makes her look like the doting, devoted, forgiving girfriend/wife. Even when Naruto acts his worst, it still doesn't make Hinata look bad.
I like you reason for why the nickname works better then mine.
All character suffered regression because of that ending.
sarada is a indian name which also sounds like salad in japanese so to me both of the names for the kids boruto/burrito or bolt and sarada or salad are just uninspired. boruto is based on naruto and sarada is based on sakura/sasuke some name that begins with s
It's common for word have different meanings in different languages. Sarada is an Indian name which means "Harvest" or "Autumn." But I don't think Kishimoto was going for that and Sarada is the Japanese word for "salad." In Japan "R" and "L" are the same letter. So Salad first turns into Sarad. But then because Japanese alphabet ends in a vowels that "d" needs an vowel at the end so an "a" is added turning Salad into Sarad then Sarada.
Remember Boruto is the "Bolt" that hold the nH relationship together. Orochimaru's brat got a one shot for what his name means. While Sarada got a ten chapter mini series of "Who My Mommy?" She is the only one that doesn't have her names meaning explained so I really do think he just gave her the name salad out of either spite or apathy.
