I haven't really gotten into any anime since Naruto ended, at least none of the new stuff. But this seems pretty interesting, perhaps I'll give it a go

Brief summary :

-there's no victor, yet

-the theme of the match is salmon

-Ren uses Alice's newest former stuff/equipment

-Momo has some sort of a communication disorder/stranger anxiety

 

Edit: More detailed summary of the chap .

 

-To have a proper conversation/talk with Momo, you need do so for at least a month xD

 

-The reason why Central allows their opponents to pick their specialty is to conceal their real strength & to foil any kind of recon made on them

 

-Ryou & Ren posses frightening speed when cutting fish; everyone on Central has a high level of skill

 

-Ren went to look for Alice to settle a date for their Shokugeki, but Alice felt indifferent towards its closure

 

-Ren provoked Ryou with a few words, hence the match happening

 

-Even though Ryou knew the theme of the match was Salmon, he still proceeded to fry 2 kinds of rice & prepared some dough, to boot (Takumi remarked it wasn't your usual rice that Ryou used)

 

-Mea facepalmed at Ren bringing the equipment out, but said he would still win the match, whatever he did/wanted to do

 

-Alice didn't know Ren could operate the equipment he had brought out, which made her suspect he already knew how to use them

 

-Momo wasn't happy she was sandwiched in between Souma's & Alice's conversation xD

Okay sorry but I am drawing a complete Blank here on part 5 but here;'s what I have so far  only a few lines bu still I did promise a preview

 

Soma: So here we are. Paris.

Sho: Ah, I can't wait to get started. so where are we headed first dad?

????: Ah! W-what are you two doing here!?

Soma: *turns around* Huh? Ah, hey there Erina! I didn't think we'd run into you here!

Sho: Hi Mom! *hugs Erina*

Erina: *looking a bit confused and stroking Sho's hair* So again WHAT are you doing here?

Soma: Oh, I decided to finally take Sho to learn more about cooking. And I thought of France first cause I did learn About French cooking During my Stagiaire period

Erina: Eh? I-is that so?

Hisako: Erina-sama! Sorry I'm late I had to run over to get our schedule- S-Soma-sama!!!!???? Sho-sama!? 

Sho: Hi auntie Hisako! *hugs Hisako*

Highlight of this chapter:

 

1. Alice referring to Ren as Central Side Character  .

 

2.Momo's hilarious anti social behavior and expression  . Especially on the last page with her being sandwiched by Soma and Alice .  

 

3. Central is getting hyped up and its playing a psychological warfare, they still haven't shown their true abilities but Ren will from next chapter, so its anyone's game now . I wonder how much Ryo progressed and learned after the stagiaire arc seems like he has some new special dish he never ever mastered until now, can't wait to see what it is  .

With recent revelopments, I'm leaning more towards Hisako/Souma than Erina/Souma, usually it's difficult to make me change my mind about pairings onces I've decided, but I find Hisako and Souma's easy friendship a breath of fresh air, plus Hisako looks cuter every chapter she's in.

 

As for this weeks chapter, was not impressed with this backup group, their level of arrogance was one thing but their whole being better than those who specialise in the area bit just bugged me, and reminded me too much of that imitation cook arc.

 

Seriously how did Azami's administration convince the chibi baker? if it takes her a month to talk to someone, why would she want to be part of the new admin, that requires her to interact more with others? The more ou find out about these elite 10's the more baffling their vote becomes. So far only the number9 and number 6 seat makes sense.

Well that's fine but you DO know I'm just writing a fan fiction right? And not that Hisako and Soma don't have some good chemistry going for them but recall that she used to treat Soma the same way as Erina. Her pesrception of Soma was a carbon copy of Erina's attitude towards him (since she saw herself just as an extention of Erina's will until recently). It was only when Soma showed her a genuine kindness by convincing her to go back to Erina not as a subordinate but as a friend that their relationship kicked off and it is fantastic. So Yeah I can see Soma and Hisako and I could support it, but the point is Who's to say Erina won't fall in love with Soma for similar circumstances in the future? Or have a friendship blossom with him?  My Bias is still Soma and Erina overall because well I just love their Dynamic. Even Tsukuda-sensei is on board for them

 

Other than that I agree with your points but I'll just withhold judgement til some more light has been shed on them but yeah as characters I'm not impressed they have no depth to them except to acta as arrogant jack@$$es in enforcing centrals ideals and their personalities don't actually mix well with why they joined central and how. Plus yeah, some of the Elite 10 personalities just don't cover on how that person became an elite ten nor why, though to be fair how one is established as a member is not properly elaborated on anyway. So we'll just have to see
