Is it me, or the YouTube community jump ship to this series after Bleach ended? It feels like attention seeker, but oh well. I don't mind. It just felt very in-line.

Yeesh, and Bleach fans are almost as toxic as the Naruto fans (not all of course but ALOT are)

I started around the time chapter 3 came out. 

 

 

So in a way I guess you can say Manga wise this has been the first series that I've really been reading since the beginning.

We all just have good taste. I followed this series since around Chapter 20 or somewhere around there. This probably the first manga I followed since almost the beginning.

Something just came to me and is something that I really wanna see happen:

Bakugo doesn't have a hero name yet, right? All his previous suggestions were shot down for being violent. What if, and this is a BIG if, when he goes through some more character development and comes to respect Midoriya, he picks his hero name as "Kacchan".

Seems kinda dumb, but wouldn't that be something?

I wouldn't like it. It's too hard to believe that they could have any kind of friendship, and if they did (which I'm sure the author is going to try to force it) it would be repulsive. There is no reason Deku should even consider him a friend, given that he's bullied him since they were children. Bakugou having character development to that degree where he treats Deku like a human would be just as unbelievable to me as Sasuke giving a rats ass about Naruto.

About this chapter, I don't know why, but now I have hype for Sero. Glad that the other side characters are getting some time to shine and something to do.

Except Kirishima. He got trolled here.

Based on his reaction when he saw Todoroki, I think Yoarashi has it out for him for some reason. I was gonna suspect jealousy, but then remembered that he was higher recommended than Todoroki. Envy? For what? I don't know. I'm intrigued to see this possible rivalry/antagonistic relationship form.

Bakugo looks ready to kitten that dude up. Although I'm still pondering what exactly he meant by not liking his type? Flaunting his powers? He does that too though. Talking down? Again, he does that too. Being all bark but no bite? Maybe, though he had a good dozen or so folks behind him when he was talking to him as a testament to his power. Could be because he's tormenting innocents for pleasure? I'm so confused right now. Maybe I'm just scatterbrained 😕

Midoriya's development is exemplified well when he offers to be a decoy. He's no longer scared. He's ready to make a stand and not buckle down, all with a brave face too. Now we just need to see if he keeps this attitude up when Shigaraki comes to rip him a new kitten.

Overall a good chapter. Still waiting for Iida to return and curb stomp everybody. 😏😏😏😏😏

Bakugo continues to show his steady development in working together/better with others. And I love how secondary characters are getting a lot of shine recently; first with Sero and now Kaminari.

And I gotta say that I like that Human Meat Quirk that this guy is using. Unique for a fighting series.

Chapter 108 was a good end to the first phase of the exam and Bakugo seems to know that Midoriya got his power from All-Might. He doesn't seem angry about it, so it seems there's some level of respect there. I think I can say Bakugo has officially become one of the top characters of the series, at least for me.

And again with the side characters getting spotlight, this time with Aoyama. It's thanks to him that all of Class 1-A met back up and all passed. Major props for that, Twinkle.

Chapter 109 has a nice callback to All-Might and the smile he always bore in the face of danger. It seems to be the birth of Midoriya's equivalent to that same smile.

Nice comedy with Mineta and Kaminari attacking Deku for being a stud! 😁😁😁

Todoroki now seems to have a rival in Yoarashi, who has a grudge against him and his dad. I wonder what Endeavor did to him and/or someone he loves since that guy isn't exactly a nice dude.

Ochako seems really beat up over her feelings for Deku. I just hope she wants to bury them to return to them later as now is not the time to be thinking about that. If she wants to rid her feelings permanently, then that sucks for OchaDeku shippers.

Solid chapters so far and My Hero Academia continues to show why it's one of the best new series around. Definitely in my Top 3 manga/anime of all time at #2. DBZ is #1 and One Piece #3.

Yeah that's what I hope she means by bury. Like, not to deny it, but that it's not the right time to confront them GREAT chapter though I also like the realistic portrayal of how heroes are supposed to act during rescue operations and how Izuku's pessimism is being pointed out lol

Example of execution done right. The comment section at MS is funny yet I agree with them. Talking about dodging a shotgun to be another Sakura/Orihime. That's how you present yourself. It seems like this phase will be her shining moment.

Ochako is literally the anti-Sakura/Hinata/Orihime, and I love it. Her growth has been tremendous. Insanely happy that she's completely come to terms with her feelings, even if she decided that it's not the right time to harp on them.

Associating Sakura (as well as Hinata, and to lesser extent Orihime) with "mediocre" is an insult to mediocre things everywhere. I know I mentioned being an anti-Sakura/Hinata/Orihime earlier, but she's much more of an anti-Sakura than anything else. Already, she has eclipsed Sakura and is everything Sakura should have been.
