Well, whatever happens, Kishimoto must feel he can resolve all this sexual belligerent tension effectively. There has to be a reason why he waited this long to do it. It's not like he's forgotten about it. He's been steadily building it up with chapters 540, 635 and the like. It's like he's putting in a reminder every so often just to get the audience to refocus on it, but never once thought he had to resolve it sooner than now. Kishimoto must have saved this particular plot point for the end for a reason. We just have to wait to see what he has planned.

The Naruto Sasuke fight in Part 1 lasted 16 chapters,6 of which were flashbacks.This fight has a lot more history to it.Could it last longer?

The fact that Sakura still loves Sasuke after all he has done isen't helping.
Think about it,
1. Now we have the conformation that Sakura confession to Naruto was fake
2. If NaruSaku happens, the only reason why is because Sakura couldn't get with Sasuke. Naruto would be the second choice.
3. Sakura seems to care more about Sasuke then Naruto. She knows both of them might die. She begs Sasuke to stay and dont even look at Naruto.
1. She can love both. This doesn't mean her feelings for Naruto are fake.
2. Yes. That's why this is happening, you know. Sasuke needs to come back, be good "again", probably apologize and Sakura chose Naruto instead. It could have be "Sakura stoped loving Sasuke and now she loves Naruto", but people can always complain about this. So we have now "Sakura had the chance to try again with the "good" Sasuke, but now he is home, she choses Naruto".
3. I think she did look at him. What is the point of showing the same panel 2 times in a row? She moves her head and looked at Naruto. He looks at her, worried. She lowers her head, and say what she said. Sakura cares for them both, and she doesn't want to fight him anymore.

Well, I do think Sakura cares about Naruto, but it wasn't executed very well this chapter. It's Naruto's birthday, he just lost his father again, he has to go fight his best friend, and Sakura chooses to cry and tell Sasuke she loves him despite what he's done. And then begs him to be by her side. It just comes off as callous.

It should last longer since it had years of build up. But I most likely won't enjoy it due to the quality of the series dropping.

The thing with Hinata is she has nothing to do with the romance sub plot or with team 7 or the Naru/Sasu conflict. She's not a main character or the heroine and definitely not Naruto's love interest. That's why its better to leave her in a corner and use her for a plot device, pairing foder or fan service. She's like add on from PSN that nobody wants to download.

From this, Kishimoto took the time to show Sakura gritting her teeth, implying that she was reluctant, really forcing out what she was saying.
I don't see when she's looking at Naruto.

Not that it matter much at this point but I think that Sakura doesn't look at Naruto rather it's the other way around when it's Naruto that looks at her, like Kakashi,at least that's my impression that I got when I look at this page again.

Naruto looks at her too.
I didn't see it the first time. But panel 3 and 5 are pretty much the same. Her head turns a little, you can see how her shoulder moves too.
I mean, NS is going to be the end game and SS has to be solved. He can't make Sakura forget about Naruto's existence. It's the same with "Congratulations!", where Sakura was looking at Naruto and not Sasuke.
But well, each to their own.
